Monarch of Darkness, Arsene

Chapter 672 Lilith Snow - Vanish

Chapter 672 Lilith Snow - Vanish

Yep, he is getting worse; there are just some things you don't say to a stranger you just met. I know he is under tremendous pressure from Zantar, but still, this is a bit much.

"Your husband will get us killed," Said Seraphina wordlessly, shooting me a stern eye. "That thing, over there is a monster! Her power is without question a match for mine, but there was something else in the air this night. Don't tell me you can't sense it." She pointed out, letting her eyes wander for a moment. "The air reeks of rot, ever since that cloaked figure vanished."

"You worry too much," I softly revealed, unhooking my arm from Sene, but I understood what she was saying, and Seraphina was not far off. We were surrounded, but by what I did not know.

"A mind like yours is tarnished by bloodlust." The elderly woman calmly responded to Arsene's rant. She did not appear stunned, at least not anymore. She smiled, "I am Rensa Le'bel, Governor of the City of Corsem. There is no throne in which you speak of."

Arsene maintained a somewhat irritated scowl and shook his head, "Corsem was destroyed by a Mad Man, feared throughout Iluthath for several Dao Cycles. I do not expect there to be an illusionary throne. In fact, I find the very idea of Corsem existing to be interesting, but I know not far from Corsem, the Imperial Throne of Tenebrae, graced by the eternal glow of Lunafreya, in the Tower of Eternal Night, there will be a throne, that connects to the other Prime Worlds."

Rensa's expression was serene; She did not allow the emotions to get the better of her like before. Maintaining a stoic expression, she did not reply to Arsene but instead peered at me with a measuring stare.

Stepping out from Arsene's side, a steady surge of Abyssal Qi arose from my flesh, and the Grand Night of Noctem, coiling around me under the steady glow of the dark amethyst skies, a shudder passed through the air, and laws trembled, with recognition.

When that idiot Casteel struck the Pale Gate, all of my Horseman Gates activated, not just in the Bed of Chaos. But in all of the Planes through the Exalted Wheel. Abyssal QI was now a significant force that would slowly integrate itself into the many realms.

The serene expression of Rensa broke, but she was quick to regain her composure. She cuffed her arms firmly and respectfully and spoke," I greet the Daughter of the Abyss, but forgive me if I ask this, why are you here?" she asked even now; her expression had not changed.

I glanced at Arsene, who had decided to be silent. To my relief, god only knows what was going through his head. "An invitation, of course, but forgive my secrecy, but I do not wish to repeat myself; I would like to request a meeting with each Governor, chairman, Major Family, or whatnot, to discuss this. There is about to be war all of you are about to walk into.

"A war," she calmly repeated, peering down in thought; her gaze whipped to Arsene, now sharp as a blade ready to strike at a moment's notice. I shuttered, but Arsene smiled and chuckled.

"Is this your doing? To involved us?" She snapped with a flat tone that seemed to carry a dark intent.

"Little old me?" The Devil pointed to himself and shrugged, "I have no idea what is going through my wife's mind when she screwed up all my plans in a single instant. I had thousands of plots to destroy the Seven Heavens, even Asmdoedus of the Nine Hells, yet she destroyed them all in but a single moment." He chuckled a little more and tilted his head in a somewhat arrogant arc, "Why not ask the angel here if you do not believe me? Then again, you might soon be asking the difference between Angels and Demons."

Seraphina's expression fell. She clenched her fist, and her gaze did not break from Rensa when their eyes crossed.

"Follow me," Rensa commanded, turning her back, "Flying is not permitted on Enrilia by order of the Government and the Banking Clans."

Arsene hummed in response to the short elderly woman, thin as a bone. He lowered his head and thought for a moment. Intrigued by his sudden action, a soul whisper reached my ear, "I'm about to head to the throne. Can you handle this? This woman is to experience to be taken lightly."

"I got this, Sene. That is why you brought Richter, right? To sacrifice him at your convenience, in case you needed to. Push comes to shove; I will do just that."

"God, I love you! Best Wife Ever, all you need now is a good spanking for screwing me, and we will be set!" He said, vanishing in a gust of darkness that smoldered back into the empty void around us.

'I am the best wife ever!' I muttered, totally agreeing with that statement.

Rensa turned to me, and I smiled, "He is going to the throne." I straight up snitched. Arsene needed a challenge.

"He will die," She said calmly, but even sera seemed to sigh.

"Do you know how many Elder Gods that boy has killed? How many plots resulted in so many uncountable deaths?" She said as I nodded right along. "I'm not discrediting you, nor your people, but Arsene is a particular kind of bastard."

"I pray for this Planet," Richter added right along with sera, nodding in complete agreement.

"The Banking Clan's will—"

"Lady, no offense," Richter suddenly said, shaking his head dismissively. "If you think some Banking Clan is better than Hell, Heaven, and many more who have legions of great power looking for that bastard, then go right ahead. But it's only a matter of time before Arsene gets what he wants. He always does."

"And that's coming from his brother," I could not help but say for two reasons. To both warn, Rensa and give her a good hostage if something goes wrong, and with Arsene doing things, I am sure something will go wrong.

Governor Le'bel's footsteps came to a halt, but her steps seemed to only resume after a moment of pause. Unsure if she took this warning to heart, I sighed, wondering how this would turn out.
