Chapter 842 Battle In Subspace
Chapter 842 Battle In Subspace
Dashing towards the Peak Elder Gods, Asmodeus seemed to shadow my step with an ebony-red blade. I ensured his blade did not disintegrate due to my bloodline and unleashed the Concept of Chaos, which distorted anything it touched.
However, the Seven First Class angels seemed to gaze upon me in contempt as I charged towards them, whipping my spear that carried the purest essence of the darkness.
Carrying the devouring nature of the darkness, the laws within the light and dark twisted as if they came in contact with a black hole. When suddenly the Etherial Concept took effect, blood-stained my eyes, as the Angels all stared with vicious-looking gashes over their chest, unable to understand how they were attacked.
Moving with a single thought, I dodged as Asmodeus dashed past my shadow, unleashing a star-crushing force that split apart the skies and pillar we were within.
"Arsene!" Julius shouted, flashing to my side; with Lilith in his arms, he snatched my arm, and space and time bent to his will as we appeared a ways away to yet another part of the battlefield.
"You sense them?" I said to Lilith as a massive explosion thundered from where Julius had somehow teleported us despite the laws being completely torn apart. Knowing an entire squad of Paragons had just engaged in battle, I called for Layla, who should have been here by now.
Leading the way at a blinding speed, Lilith, Julius, and I all tore through the skies as we gazed upon a deadly battle in and out of subspace. Flashes of light I could barely make out seemed to distort reality causing the hairs upon me to stand on end.
Battling in subspace was suicide for most people. The base requirement is to be a madman or a Paragon. And even then, the chances of death are terrifyingly high. Only those with concepts that can be used as a defense take the chances of battling in subspace.
'Arsene, you should stay here; these people are Paragon." Julius forewarned.
"It's now or never; I can take a hit from a Paragon," I confidently said.
Lilith nodded as her sword cut across through space, opening a slit that reminded me of a mini black hole as it began devouring everything around us.
"My abyssal Qi protects me from most things; while your Path is not at that level yet, I think it'll be fine. If you survive long enough, you'll adapt. Your soul is different now." She said, and I knew she was talking about the brief moment I entered the Origin Realm. I've no idea what I adapted to, but ever since I returned, everything around felt… Fragile. As if it would break at the slightest touch.
"There are three Arbiters or maybe two. The number was never really clear to me," Lilith continued, shooting me a cheep smile as she giggled, " Although now that I'm saying that, I believe it's three."
Despite my emotions being suppressed by the Hollowing, I smiled, "Let's sync. It's been a while since we last knew each other thoughts, and we'll need it."
"I'm using Into the Abyss." Lilith warned, "your mind could break."
"It's already broken; let's go," I uttered as my mind and soul became one with Lilith; I felt something in my mind shatter, akin to the sounds of me breaking through the Thirty-Three Heavens.
Images after images, billions of trillions, and much-much more came in all at once, followed by blood racing down my nose.
Lilith stared at me with a large smile as she tilted her head, " Can you use the Abyssal Artes?"
"Arsene?" Julius said after a moment of silence.
"Ah, let's go before my head explodes," I said, gritting my teeth, and dashed through the slit that led to subspace.
Creating a barrier mixed with a few Abyssal Spells and Forsaken Qi, my cheeks turned a ghastly pale, as I felt like I was being hit by a thousand trucks.
Holding back the searing pain racing over me, I stared dead at the small party a few meters away.
"Arsene!"
"Arsene!"
"Arsene!"
"Say my name, say my name," I sang, adjusting myself to the cold void around me, observing the look of shock in the three Arbiters of Fate.
"No time to chat, Sene," Lilith warmly said, as her aura turned cold as her Fathers.
Matching that vicious aura, Julius was the first to dash through the confines of subspace; he appeared like an apparition.
"Severing End," He coldly said, slashing his sword out twice—one aimed at the neck and the other at the groin. And like his shadow, Lilith did the same as her blade slashed through the concept of time, cutting the single arbiters Julius had attacked.
There was a long silence as the Arbiter of choice fell to his knee before falling into pieces. Julius and Lilith's teamwork was deadly, but even more deadly was when Damien and Apophis came turning the body of this no-name Arbiter to nothing.
Glancing at Lilith and Julius' arm turning grey, I frowned, knowing that Severing End held a terrifying backlash when controlled, unlike when she cut off Baphomet's arm. Had Lilith aimed that time around, maybe she could have killed him but chose to have her arm instead of going in for the kill.
"Lux" The Arbiotor in a white robe trembled as he whispered a name, " We need to escape."
"You're not going anywhere," I commented, drawing close with a single step. " So why not die with some dignity?"
"Dignity? You attacked us from the shadows the moment you appeared." The one called Lux barked.
"Please, you saw us; you just thought that you could ignore us since we have low cultivations. So please do keep ignoring us. Lilith got a kill, and I haven't."
"Arsene and Lilith Snow, this isn't over! The Myriad Gods are coming."
"Then they'd be fools," Said Lilith as the Azure glow around her arm brightened to that of the sun.
In her mind, I could feel something stir, something different as blood bled from my eyes; I saw—Eh.
Blood spilled as Lux pivoted off the void back into reality, but as he did, Lilith's blade struck out, not where he had been but in a seemingly different direction.
I watched the Aybssal blade open a slit into reality; my eyes widened as we all gazed at the headless body lux twitching as a geyser of blood trickled out.
"The Twins are amazing! Arsene!" She said, falling into my arms, fainting before any more words were shared.
"Causality?!"
