Monarch of Darkness, Arsene

Chapter 985 Great Basin

Chapter 985 Great Basin

"I think you should spend some time with your sister, Freya." I found myself saying a second later after Ezra dropped such a bomb on me. Baby fever is real, but my god! I'm not dealing with another brat till I figure out what is up with the twins.

'Good choice,' Lily giggled. " you've no idea how bad your kids are. Your daughter, bless her heart, almost blew up an entire city with one of her gravitational experiments. My god, you should have seen the faces of the other Inquisitors when they tracked her down in the rubble beneath Blackpool. I've never seen the council so angry. And like a dummy, your daughter tried to finesse them. Claiming it was their fault."

I smiled, almost envisioning a silver-headed girl with Lilith's eyes. Tiny and squishy roaring 'daddy' as she rides on a dragon. Make me proud little one! Make Pop-Pop proud.

"Master! You can't get rid of me!" Ezra strongly argued. " Who will ride your—"

"It's only for a few years, plus you need to be way stronger if you wish to stay here. You've just awakened your forsaken blood. Plus, Freya can grant you tonnes of divinity to help you break through. I'm sure you can jump to high god in a few years if we put you in a time chamber."

Ezra's cheeks grew plump as she glared and crossed her arms like a child. But before she could speak, I continued. " in addition, this will help when we invade the Hells. I've already begun preparing teams to enter the nines. You are supposed to be the commander, but if your—"

I'd not even finished before a gate of Noctem appeared. And in a blink of an eye, Ezra was gone.

Chuckling, I smiled " Well, that's one way of getting rid of her," I said, losing my grin as I soared into the skies, losing the illusion around me. My true form was revealed. And without hesitation, I pierced through the winds at a blinding speed.

Tearing through the mist, I ignored the many sects that had blockaded the various regions. I'd no time to deal with such small issues. And there was no way to stop me from Shadow Stepping through any Wardings.

However, the closer I got towards the pillar of light reaching the skies, the more an enormous pressure began to weigh on my shoulders, trying to force me from the skies, but… but for some reason, despite the aura cruelly pressing like stones on my soul, I found another part of myself thinking everything was fine. Almost like two pieces of myself were at war, I frowned as I began to get dizzy.

"What is this?"

"You've adapted to the Origin Realm," said Lily as a matter of fact." Although, I don't understand why only half of you are affected when you should be immune. Perhaps not all of you were able to adapt.

My eyes narrowed, and a cold smile appeared, " then let's adapt to these laws. I've had a lot of practice within the Palace of Night to master such things."

Opening myself to the world around me, Astral Force and the Divinity of Sin poured into every cell in my body and soul to ensure a change, leaving nothing out of touch. The seconds became hours, and the hours were like days as I felt the natural rejection of the laws around me beginning to fade away.

In about three days, I had adapted to the higher laws. Ensuring that nothing but physical damage could harm this king. Just a shame I can't adapt to Qi. There are just so many different variables that it is impossible.

Soaring up towards the landmass shadowing everything with its insane size, I watched as a large gathering of humanoids, beasts, fiends, ghosts, and so on welcomed me with cold dead eyes as I landed near the edge of what seemed like the world based on the size of this floating structure.

Whispers were about, some good, some guarded, but many with greed in their tone.

'What do you think he is?'

'You know it's impossible to fly even with wings. It has to be a relic.'

'He is only a mid god. We could take it.'

'You got a karmic rod, right? Look into this past to see if he's got anyone we should be worried about. You never know.' Another in the crowd said as if I didn't have ears.

"Part." I coldly said. Narrowing my eyes, the Abyssal Runes on my scales began to glow a sinister light to match my intent.

"Boy, you've got balls not even a dao cycle year old, yet you think—"

I was a little unsure who spoke. And honestly, I didn't care. Everyone here was High Gods or higher, but with a single snap of my fingers, a straight line emerged as over twenty people in my path were banished into subspace, where their bodies would be atomized.

Silence fell, and without another word, I walked forward in the lain I had created with an icy look in my eyes.

I had the defense of a Paragon. I could battle in subspace for a minute or two before I die, but others, not so much. Shame I couldn't banish Elder Gods… At least not yet.

'Their soul shards shattered,' someone whispered as a realization came.

I smiled, and without hesitation, I pushed out my senses that strange mist within the Gaiser Plane restricted. Sensing a wisp of Aldrich aura in the center of the pillar of light, I took a step forward.

'Careful Arsene… Another Monarch is here."

"Oh? Who?'

"I think it's the Monarch of Time. If you are not careful, you might die in an instant. The Dao of Time is no joke if used right. You've yet to adapt to specific laws at higher dimensions."Lily warned, but such concerns were unwarranted.

The Abyssal Flame… the darkness I learned from Abyss-Chan is out of this world. One doesn't just live a Chaos Cycle in the realm and doesn't learn anything. Plus, what are the chances that some Monarch of Time will find fault with me? I'm adorable.

'... can you tell if it's a woman?"

Lily groaned," Why do you and Crowe think with your dick first?"
