Chapter 2687: Desperate Dream

Chapter 2687: Desperate Dream

Chapter 2687: Desperate Dream

"This old woman is quite good," I said as I saw the decapitated corpse of the blue cat monster, which was about five times her size and was very.

I had estimated her chances of winning quite low, I thought she would retreat after seeing how strong the Monster was, but she proved me wrong; she had not only survived but also killed the Monster, which was considerably more powerful than her.

'Your battle was magnificent, miss Roya,' I said to the collapsed women, and my string pierced into her. First, it sucked away all the luminescent flavored monster energy before pouring the healing energy, which rapidly began to heal her injuries.

'Thank you, my lord,' she said as I finished healing; 'Its nothing,' I said before my expression turned serious.

'A word of suggestion. You should retreat when you come against such strong enemies; if I had not been here, the wounds and energy that Monster left inside you would have killed you within minutes,' I suggested; she should understand these things, given her experience.

She is one of the oldest Masters here, over a hundred years old with a great battle record; these people do make such mistakes.

Maybe it is because of me; she thought I would save her if she was in any real danger.

'I would have retreated if it had a normal occurrence, but you were here, and it is not every day one meets the core member of the project,' she said, and hearing that a mirthless smile couldn't help but appear on my face.

'So, this was an audition,' I said somberly.

I couldn't say I was surprised as I had been warned about this, Jim. Sarah had come across such auditions during her missions; people thought since her fiancé was a high-level member of the project, they would get a chance if they impressed her enough.

'Miss Roya, you would not get into a project with such stunts,' I said. 'Every Tyrant is being examined, especially Masters, and only those suitable with the directors methods can get in,'

'It does not matter how high your talent is, how impressive you or what organization you belong to; as long as you are suitable with the director's methods, you will get admitted into the project,' I said with a sigh.

'Can I not get a chance? Even after everything, I have sacrificed my race,' she asked in a quivering voice; I could hear the clear desperation in her voice.

I have heard people are going desperate to get into the project, finding it the only way to reach the level of their dreams, especially people like her who have been fighting for so long.

'It is not a question of chance but of compatibility, and it is constantly changing with the method we practice the things we go through.'

'Which is why we constantly scan people over and over, especially peak Masters like you, and you might not believe, but they're huge vacancies in the project and continued to fill them with the people compatible with the director's methods,' I said, and there was silence from the link.

'I will try to be compatible with the project then,' she said nearly a minute later, and I could feel the resolve in her voice.

I knew immediately that she was going to take risks, and it might kill her, and I even opened my mouth to dissuade her but closed it a moment later. My words will not change anything; I could feel her resolve and know she would do anything she thought might help her become Grandmaster or get into the project.

'Just be careful and don't take too many risks,' I said finally and continued with the harvest.

While one battle is finished, another is still happening; the Grimms and humans are still fighting and seeing their battle; it might take a while before it is finished.

Forty minutes passed when the battle had finally finished; the Grimms began to retreat, and the humans did not stop them. They fought for over an hour but were not able to kill, which is a kind of disappointing result; I had hoped they would have killed at least one Grimms.

Though the result is a little disappointing, I did not blame them. The Grimms have sent a team that had great teamwork and had a greater number than humans; it is already a miracle that they have not lost their lives in the hands of Grimms.

I began to heal their injuries as I watched the Grimms leave; I could kill them, but I did not; there is no need, at least not now.

Let them stuff their storage with resources first before I kill them. Though I would very much welcome it if their leader came at me, my hands have been very much itching to fight the bastard. It had been two months since I had a proper fight.

A few hours passed, but no other attack came from the Grimms; they were watching us like we were watching them but seemed to have no intention to attack.

I am a little surprised with their patience, given the temper of their commander, who is always very eager to kill some humans. I am excited but not in a hurry, as I am going to fight it, just not right now; let us fill our storage before taking any action.

'My lord,'

Another hour passed when a Master contacted me and looked at the reason; my eyes couldn't help but shine brightly.

'I think I have found the luminescent pool,' he informed with some hesitation.

"You really did," I said, surprising the hell out of him; it took me less than five seconds to appear where he was.

"At ease," I said to him when he tried before focusing back on a twinking pool of colorful water, which was about twenty feet below the ground. Despite being so close, I was not able to sense it; the information is right, but they are very hard to sense.

Though, one could still find them if they know what they are looking for.

"Are you interested? I promise; I will not let you die," I said to Irvin, who was bald and looked to be in his mid-thirties but was over fifty years old.

"N…No, my lord, I have to see what this thing could do. I was there when Rana stepped into the pool, and I do not want to suffer the fate he had," he said shudderingly as he took a step back.

These are wonderful treasures but also extremly dangerous; the person he is referring to was a little careless and ended up sufferingly horrifically. I had watched the footage, and it was quite a gretosqopic scene.

'We have found a luminescent pool; those interested in entering inside can come here,' I said to all the Masters through my seed.

After sending the message, I turned to the pool, which looked like it was made of tens of colorful shining liquids.

Tap!

I tapped on the ground gently, and it began to collapse. Soon, the wide area around the pool collapsed, making a wide way around the pool.
