56 Chapter 0056
56 Chapter 0056
I was currently in a giant room, which was as decently decorated as the princess's room that I had been to. I was brought here by Harold's butler, Pietro, who said to rest for the night and talk to Harold in the morning.
I didn't really mind resting for a bit. The others, including Gomchul and Nameless, were guided towards their own quarters to rest for the night.
"Ugh, fuck nice. This feels heavenly."
I couldn't help but let out a sigh of appreciation after laying on the soft and squishy mattress of the huge bed.
It felt like all my body's tiredness was sipping away right under the mattress.
I groaned a bit and thought back to everything I did ever since I got the legendary class. Life had been much more eventful, both in good and bad ways, ever since I got the legendary class.

I stared at the status screen in front of me, with my head laying on my hand.
'Doesn't look so bad huh.'
Many things have happened and there were a lot of changes to my status screen. I was already level 142 and something to note was the increase in my intelligence and wisdom. It had increased by a lot of points even though I hadn't invested a single point in them. I blamed the race change for the exponential increase in the stat point.
Not only did it boost my overall mana, but it also brought my intelligence stat higher than my strength stat.
'I don't even know what I am anymore.'
I couldn't help but smile awkwardly. My status window was so messed up that if someone saw it, they would have a heart attack seeing the uneven distribution of stats and how many stat points I had for a level 142. Everyone in the game gets 10 stat points for each level increase, but I got a lot of stat points from various tasks and achievements.
Not to mention my mana and magic attack had increased by a lot, with the latter almost catching up to my physical attack.
—Haah!
I let out a long breath as I stared at the ceiling, more like the beautiful chandelier hanging by the ceiling.
'Fuck it, let's just sleep.'
I wanted to rest for a bit since resting inside [Mayhem] was much more convenient and better than in reality.

"So, a player is about to marry a duke's daughter, not to mention a Sahhan Duke's daughter at that."
Terry commented as he saw the talk between the duke and his daughter. Terry wasn't surprised that Shura saved the Duke's daughter. In fact, the point of this whole quest was so that the duke's daughter can survive, and she was going to survive one way or the other, unless, of course, some complications happened.
But it was Shura again who completed this quest and was going to get rewarded. This quest was one of the most famous ones among the players currently, accompanied by the quest to defend the northern fortress of the Drisica Kingdom from the devils.
"Yes, that seems to be the case. Only a few hundred players have managed to secure marriage in nobility, not to mention most of them are lower nobles like barons and viscounts."
Jacob replied. Recently, he had stopped his efforts at trying to convince Terry to do something about the legend class and just oversees the situations of various top or unique players.
"What's the status of Abel, Elexis, and the others?"
Terry asked as he went through his skreener device and surfed through the internet.
"Abel has successfully defeated the Crocatize. He would most likely find an entrance to Abyss soon. Elexis, on the other hand, had managed to become the captain of the squad leading the defense of the Northern Fortress of Drisica, she is the first player to get such a high role in one of the countries ruled by the Sahhan Empire."
Jacob read through his reports of the special players. These were the players that weren't just high on the level's leaderboards but also had their own unique talent and circumstances in the game. For example, Elexis was the first person to get a high-standing role in the Sahhan Empire and had become the leader of the people defending the Drisica Fortress.
Abel was about to become the second person to discover the abyss, not through luck or chances, but through months of grinding and adventure.
Then there was the report about Crestfallen the number one in level rankings and Electron, the number one in blacksmith ranking, followed by many other famous players.
"What about the preparations for the competition? How are they coming along?"
Terry finally asked the main question. Everyone in the world knew that there was going to be some sort of competition related to [Mayhem] which might just end up becoming a competition on the same level as the Olympics.
The Kibea Corporation had already started the competition's preparations long ago, and the actual game preparations were long since finished. But the permissions and setup of the game in the actual world, organizing a world-level event was no small feat.
Although the countries were united, it was nothing but a fake front put by the leaders of the said countries to bring a false sense of peace to the residents.
Right now, the Kibea corporation was struggling a lot to make deals with all the countries, especially the major ones like the USA, Canada, China, Korea, Russia, and India.
Most of these countries were insecure about various things, and some just wanted big chunks of money to agree. To Kibea corporation, money wasn't an issue. But making these prideful countries work with a private company, no matter how big, was a hard task.
"Well sir, you do know about the USA. The president of the USA has already agreed, and the negotiations with India and its neighboring countries went well too. The problem is Russia, they are bringing their hundred-year-old fight with the USA into this, but I know they just want to increase their profit shares, at least from the Russian participants.
"There were some problems with China too, but it got settled quickly. Apart from that, we have sent high-ranking executives to every country, and it should be all settled within ten days if everything goes as planned."
Jacob replied as he checked on the reports that had come from the marketing team. He had been extremely busy these days and had barely made time to have a meeting with Terry. But obviously, he wouldn't tell him that, unless he wants to get a glare from Terry.
"Good work. Prepare for a meeting with the Russian president with me."
"B-but sir—"
"No buts, just do as I say. I don't want anybody interfering with [Mayhem]. I'll handle the negotiations myself."
"Okay, as you say. I will contact my assistant right now."
After the chat, Jacob hurriedly left the office as he still had a lot of things to do.
Terry went back to his job of having fun while looking at the lives of players and NPCs inside [Mayhem].

—-Yawn!
Waking up was always a tiresome task, no matter if it was the reality or the alternate reality called [Mayhem].
Stretching out a bit, I walked towards the balcony of the room.
"Beautiful…"
I couldn't help but let out a gasp of admiration, my tail wagging behind me unconsciously. The scenery in front of me was simply magnificent. The residential area, followed by the ever-bustling market, and the city gates. Beautiful mountains stretch far and wide, far from the city.
Birds chirped around and the clouds above formed various beautiful shapes. Everything was simply mesmerizing as if the city itself was celebrating the return of their adored princess.
—-Knock Knock!
'Good job breaking my trance, tsk.'
I clicked my tongue as I shouted.
"Come in."
The door opened, and all the bunch from Chrysanthemum Guild, Nameless, and Gomchul entered the room.
"Fuck! You were given this room? Why did we have to share a small room then…? I had to sleep with this orc who kept kicking me the whole night!"
Lynch cursed out in jealousy as soon as he entered the room. This time, he wasn't the only jealous person, everyone around looked at the room enviously.
"Sir, your grace has invited you all to the main hall."
Just when everyone was looking around, a guard armed in leather armor came in and informed us.
"Okay, we'll be right there."
Bowser said and the guard left after a short nod.
"Let's go, someone's about to be rich."
Bowser commented as he looked at me.
'Man, let's just go and see.'

"Once again, I am so grateful to you for saving our daughter, no amount of words is enough to express my gratitude for what you have done. I will forever be grateful to you."
Harold, the proud duke of the Sahhan Empire thanked me with his head bowed slightly. Beside him were the Duchess and the princess sitting respectively on his right and left sides.
"I told you, it's fine. You don't really need to go out of your way and thank me again and again."
I replied. It was somewhat awkward for me to see a big character like him thanking me again and again.
"You are too humble. Tell me, what do you want? Although there was a fixed amount of reward, I still want to know your will before handing them out."
The Duke said and both the Duchess and the princess got somewhat uncomfortable in their seats as soon as they heard the word 'reward'. Of course, it was a normal reaction considering one of the rewards was the princess herself, a marriage with her to be precise.
"Ah, about that. I just remembered about the hand-in-marriage thingy. I should have told you before, but it's never too late I guess."
"What do you mean, young man?"
Harold, and everyone else in the room, including the people who had come with me, looked at me questionably at my words.
"Nothing. Just, there is no need to force the princess to marry me. I don't even want to marry her, so we are good to go. You have to compensate me with other rewards though."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY???!!"
Everyone in the room let out a surprised shriek, but the loudest one was clearly the princess's own voice.
