Chapter 138 0138. The Answer Is Blunt!
Chapter 138 0138. The Answer Is Blunt!
[Players Remaining: 103]
Just after 10 minutes of golem appearance, the player side lost a large number of players, one of them being Fender himself.
Even top players were no match against the golems. Also, after losing so many of the golems, the golems numbers haven't dwindled by even a single margin.
"Fuck it, it's impossible to beat this."
Lynch shouted, he was very annoyed after Fender had died. He stopped wanting to try more after one of his buddies was down, same was true for Bowser, although he handled himself more maturely.
"AARRGHHH!!"
Another player's painful shout resounded as his bottom limbs were crushed as blood splattered the whole floor, and soon he turned into particles of ashes.
"Great! Only 102 remain now."
Shura said out loud, his voice filled with displeasure.
"How do we even kill these fuckers?"
Grant asked. As the team's tank, he was not having a good time.
His health had hit rock bottom multiple times and if it wasn't for Shura's potions, he might have died 10 times over by now.
The players had tried all kinds of attacks, but there was nothing that seemed to be working.
Fire was almost close to ineffective against them, unlike the time with mummies where it dealt massive damage to them.
After a while someone thought of using water, which seemed like a logical option considering the nature of the golems was earth.
—-Guoounggg!
The golem let out a loud screech, giving everyone hope that maybe water was the key.
[The Old Rock Golem has absorbed the water, all its wounds are healed!]
"'...'"
"FUCKING PIECES OF TRASH!"
The player who used the water attack started boiling with rage to the point that he even tried to log out by killing himself.
[PK is not allowed in this area!]
And the game didn't even give him the choice of suicide, which just made his eyes even more bloodshot as he just ran towards the golems recklessly and got stomped on, dying the next moment.
—-Ssskkk!
Everyone took in a cold breath. At this point, it seemed like it was impossible to fight these things. Not even one of them was defeated till now and to the current players, every single one of them was equivalent to a mini-boss.
"Fuck fuck fuck!"
A lot of players were starting to get disturbed mentally as the amount of hopelessness that they were facing was abysmal.
"Eat this asshole!"
A player who used a hammer as his weapon threw it directly on a Golem's face out of spite, his actions totally controlled by his impulses.
[You have dealt 4000 damage to the Old Rock Golem!]
"Huh?"
What's going on?
Just then, everyone had a sudden realisation.
The answer to defeating the golems was in their names only!
They were rock golems! And rocks can only be broken with blunt attacks!
Cutting a rock with a sword or burning it with fire was absurd and was a very slow process.
"Blunt attacks!"
"Everyone who has blunt weapons, come forward. Tank, shield them!"
Every player immediately seemed to have gained some clarity after that one hammer hit the golem.
—-Bam!
—-Thump!
—-Tak!
All sorts of blunt weapons collided on the slow bodies of the golems, whose only attack pattern was to use their hands and legs and swing them around.
"Attack incoming, watch out!"
The other players who couldn't help much with the combat started to guide the players who were playing forwards, becoming their eyes and ears that warned them of attacks.
Shura also took out an Axe hammer that he had in his inventory. Unluckily for him, he didn't have any hammers, but he had an Axe which was a hammer on its back, so he started to use it with his full power, attacking the golems back to back.
[You have defeated an Old Rock Golem!]
[You have gained 795 EXP!]
[You have gained 54 Dungeon Points!]
[You have levelled up!]
"Wow…."
After what felt like an eternity of hopelessness, the players finally saw something which can be called as 'salvation'.
"Buy me some time everyone, its time to beat the fuck out of these fuckers."
Shura shouted as everyone covered him.
Only about a hundred players were remaining, unlike the start where they numbered in seven thousand.
Shura took out a dagger and started to make an alchemy circle on the ground.
He had lots of materials from all the monsters that they had defeated before.
Although the herbs to make potions were almost over, he could still make some HP potions and mana potions, as well as blunt weapons for everyone who could wield it.
Half an hour later.
Almost every close combat class player either had a hammer, a flail or some other blunt weapon. Some even had soccer bats!
The players' counter attack had begun in full force, but it didn't give them much hope.
After 30 minutes of arduous fighting, they had only managed to kill off a few hundred of these golems. Not to mention that there were still almost 199400 something golems remaining.
"Hahaha! If I am going down, I am going down with you fuckers!"
Grant, who had his role as a tanker throughout the event, was also contributing in dealing damage after the realisation that blunt weapons were key to defeating the golems.
'I miss my stealth skill.'
Shura lamented. Too bad it was a skill attached to his class weapon, instead of something that he could use freely.
He didn't have any other skills that boosted his movement speed either.
—-Badump!
Suddenly, he heard a loud heartbeat, which was of course his own. His eyes started itching before they forced him to follow the red mana lines that only he could see.
'What…?'
He looked through all that and his eyes were shell shocked!
[Enemy's weakness detected! Attacks will deal significantly more damage in the weak areas!]
There was a clear red mark on the golem's butt. As Shura looked at each golem, every golem in the room shared the same weakness.
"Guys! Attack their butts! The butts!"
Shura shouted and everyone looked at him with judging eyes.
"Just do what I said!"
Shura shouted in annoyance, and the first one to try his method was Iqol himself, as he slammed the giant hammer straight at a golem's butt.
—-Crumble!
The golem immediately crumbled down like pieces of rock, before turning into ashes.
'"Whaaa—-?"'
Everyone who saw this had their mouths dropped to the ground, unable to recover from the mental shock.
The golem's that were giving them such a hard time were actually this easy to defeat?
—-Crumble!
"Nice!"
Bowser exclaimed as people turned towards him. Another pile of rock fell to the ground before turning into ashes.
Bowser, who was merely a gunslinger, was using a weapon double his size. Not to mention that his full force attack was enough to kill a golem in one hit too.
"AAAAA!"
Just then, everyone heard a miserable scream, and saw that a golem picked up a player and snapped his body in half when he was distracted and looking at the commotion.
"Don't get distracted and focus on clearing these motherfuckers."
Abel commanded, as it was a member of his team that had died.
"Get ready to fight."
And hence, one by one, Golems started to turn into ashes as players started to dominate the battlefield again.
But the number of golems was far greater than the players, and hence sometimes, players would get caught up in a golem's attack and die.
[Players Remaining: 68]
The numbers had narrowed down a lot, and only the top of the top players remained, while the others were already turned into pieces of digital chunk.
Everyone knew, it won't be long before they were caught up in the crossfire too. As all the players were mentally exhausted from the continuous battle. Even Shura's potions were running out, and people were dying left and right.
Just then, something even crazier happened.
"Is he….?"
"He's eating rocks…"
A few people noticed that Shura was sitting on the ground after killing a golem. Surprisingly, the golem's body didn't disappear, and was right in front of him, piled up.
He picked up one of the rocks and ate it, immediately spitting it out.
"What's going on…"
"Is he really that hungry?"
[Metamorphosis Index: 69%]
'It increased!'
As expected!
Shura finally remembered the loss of the serpent's heart, and thought about how he might have been close to evolution if he had eaten it back then.
'But the rocks aren't enough.'
The rocks that made the golem's body weren't enough to increase his index much. Not to mention it was horrible tasting.
Just then, Shura noticed something shiny in the pile.
He dug up the area and it turned out to be a yellow coloured gemstone like thing.
[Old Rock Golem Core]
'Wait… a golem core? Isn't it like the heart of a golem?'
Heart!
Just the word alone was enough to bring a creepy smile on Shura's face, weirding out everyone who was watching his stone age behaviour.
