"What?"

He sat up in a hurry, his face a mask of shock and worry.

The woman who slept behind him clung to his naked body. She asked with concern, "Honey, who it is so early in the morning?"

Ye Shen acted as if he didn’t hear her. His face became paler like lightning had just struck him.

"Shen Shen, what’s wrong with you?" The woman asked.

"Everything’s wrong!" Ye Shen hung up his phone with shaking fingers and quickly leaped out of bed.

"What do you mean by that? Tell me, maybe I can help..." The woman grumbled unsatisfactorily and tried to pull him back.

"Get lost—" Ye Shen shoved her away roughly, his entire body a ball of fury.

Not long after, he stormed out the Ye mansion’s front door, not even fully dressed. He climbed into his car and slammed down on the fuel pedal.

Xinghe, who stood beside her bedroom window, smirked as she watched the car driving away.

That should keep him busy for a while.

The leaking of corporate secrets was no small matter. In the worst case, Ye Corps might even face bankruptcy.

Xinghe felt slightly guilty because she’d once promised Xia Zhi to not use her skills for illegal things but she had no choice in this situation.

Furthermore, she found no reason to be kind towards filth like Ye Shen. She wouldn’t mind teaching him a lesson.

Even though Ye Shen had run away, Auntie Ding still refused to open the door.

In the end, it was Ye Qin who opened it. She turned her nose up at Xinghe as she ordered, "Xia Meng, get to work. My Ye family doesn’t feed you to sit around and do nothing! If you still want to eat, then go cook! Remember, finish cooking before eleven or you can starve for the day!"

After she gave the order, Ye Qin left.

Auntie Ding stepped into the room like she owned the place while she yapped on about the dish Mrs. Ye and Ye Qin liked to eat. The menu she gave had 10 dishes and not one of them was easy.

It was then eight in the morning, even a world star chef wouldn’t be able to accomplish their demand, much less her. They were purposely giving her trouble.

Of course, Xinghe would not bend to their will. She walked past Auntie Ding and strode towards the house entrance.

"Young Mistress, where are you going? Didn’t you hear the miss ask you to cook?" Auntie Ding chased after her and asked with a scowl.

"I’m going to buy the ingredients," Xinghe answered softly.

"There are more than enough ingredients in the kitchen. Go in there and start cooking. You need to finish cooking by eleven because that is the time Madam and Miss enjoy their lunch."

Xinghe stared coldly at her, saying, "I’m missing some ingredients for the special menu I’m planning. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to cook them a lunch that they’ll never forget."

Auntie Ding was confused. She frowned unhappily. "What ingredient could you possibly need? We have everything so start working."

Xinghe ignored her and continued walking.

"Xia Meng, where are you going? Didn’t I tell you to go work?" Ye Qin shouted at her from upstairs.

Auntie Ding immediately told on Xinghe, "Miss, Young Mistress said she needs to go out to buy some ingredients. But I told her we already have everything she could possibly need, so I really have no idea what is she up to."

Ye Qin sneered at her as she stepped down the stairs. "Obviously, she is trying to shirk from her responsibility. Xia Meng, you belong to the Ye family so you have to listen to my every order, do you understand?"

"Well, you heard the Young Miss’ orders, right?" Auntie Ding added pointedly.
