Chapter 182 Chef Liling
Chapter 182 Chef Liling
"My lips are not wide," Chuanli said, withdrawing the mirror from his face.
While penning his signature, Mr. Fang said, "You were actually checking the size of your mouth out?" His tone sounded unbelievable like he didn't expect he would do such a thing.
Chuanli shrugged. "Why wouldn't I? I can't trust your words so blindly anymore. Go ahead and tell me when your first date is so I can help you make the arrangements."
He was more than interested in their first date as he has been the one wanting to sail their ship. He has been routing for their relationship and finally it has come to fulfillment.
At the same time, he wanted things to go perfectly for his best friend.
Leaving him, he was sure he wouldn't go extra miles for his first official willing date given that he was already familiar with Zhang Liling.
He was going to help him to change that mentality.
"Who needs your help? If your hands and head is itching to do something, chanel that energy and time into my new pills."
Mr. Fang was not interested in involving him in things between him and Zhang Liling.
Although he understood that he wanted to help out, but he would prefer that he learned things on his own.
Chuanli laughed over his response as wrinkles formed at the corner of his eyes. "Alright," he said in agreement. Then he thought of something and continued.
"Bingwen, if you ask for my opinion, then I would have to tell you that I don't think you would be needing this new pills."
There was a sudden silence after his words were delivered.
Mr. Fang's brows slightly furrowed. As if in consideration of his suggestion, he paused in his actions as his gaze narrowed. But then, he went back to pen down his signature on the last page of the document and closed the page.
"Because of Zhang Liling?" He irked. His question was direct to the point as he had guessed correctly.
"Yes," Chuanli admitted. He felt that having Zhang Liling beside him, would reduce his irritation toward coming in contact with other smells from people and the environmental.
At least, spending time together would leave some of her scent on his clothes and body. Also, if his nose grows accustomed to her scent, there may be a high chance that his irritation would die down.
All of this were his speculation yet to be proven. The only way to find out this possibility was if they actually got together and the process was monitored.
Chuanli did not keep this idea to himself, he made sure to lay it in front of him.
"Till that time comes... I want my new drugs before Monday." Mr. Fang instructed in a strict tone, leaving no leeway for any negotiation.
A soft sigh escaped Chuanli's lips. He was disappointed and left with no choice but to go on with his command.
After their conversation ended, he phoned Zhang Liling.
He sounded excited while chiding her for not informing him about her new relationship with Mr. Fang.
Zhang Liling guessed that Mr. Fang must have been the one that informed him and immediately confessed.
"Dr. Li, it's not my fault, Mr. Fang would have skinned me alive if I had divulged the news to you."
Knowing what his friend was like, Chuanli believed her and set aside his grudge.
The two chatted for a bit before ending their conversation.
Before Mr. Fang could return from work the same day, Zhang Liling had already prepared him the only dish she could get her hands around.
Initially when she had gone into the kitchen and asked the chef to give up his working space, he had refused.
"Miss Zhang, the minute I do this, I would be fired." The Chef said to her.
She wanted to make dinner for Mr. Fang when he was here? Did she want to snatch his job from him and get him fired at the same time?
"You would not be fired, trust me." Zhang Liling said with confidence. She was staring right into his eyeballs to assure him of her words.
But at the end, the chef was still insistent.
She was not his employer, and there was no instruction from Mr. Fang to let her prepare dinner for him, so why would he blindly follow her lead?
Zhang Liling was annoyed that he refused to let her do what she wanted after spending so much time pleading with him, but she was not downcasted.
Did she tell him that she couldn't share the kitchen with him?
Zhang Liling quickly went on to prep the ingredients for her pasta to his amazement.
It was just a tiny lingering thread, and the Chef would have lost himself totally in watching her.
He was surprised with her stubbornness, but let her do what she wanted.
Watching her cut the carrot in big chunks, he couldn't help admonishing her from the side.
He couldn't even ignore her even if he wanted to because her silly kitchen mistakes could not go past his eye without his brows furrowing.
She was messing up his skill in his workroom, so how could he let her be?
At a point, Zhang Liling had to slam the kitchen knife on the wooden chopboard.
Narrowing her gaze at the chef, she asked, "Mr. Chef, I didn't ask you to teach me how to hold a knife properly. If my actions are irritating you, you can as well leave the kitchen for me."
'Did I nag her a lot?' The chef was taken aback by her outburst and couldn't help wondering if he had gone too far with berating her.
But then he thought why she would speak to him in that manner. She was obstructing him from working in the first place.
Ms. Chu who heard the outburst, came to peep through the open door. When she saw what was going on, she couldn't help but to go and meet the butler.
Butler Gu had just finished using the dryer in the laundry room and walking along the hallway when he met the housekeeper.
Ms. Chu flashed him a polite smile and stopped in her steps so he would meet up with her and they could continue walking ahead in the same pace.
"Butler Gu, I see Miss Zhang in the kitchen preparing dinner for Mr. Fang. Does she know how to cook?"
"What?!..." Butler Gu exclaimed as black lines appeared on his forehead.
He was shocked as he thought that after a few days of rest, that troublesome young lady was already up to go against their Master again.
Without responding, he quickened his steps and walked ahead with knitted brows, but suddenly, a question came to his head, causing his steps to slow before completely stopping.
Pondering over his thoughts, he immediately turned to glance at the housekeeper who had already net up with him. "What is Ms. Zhang cooking?"
Ms. Chu squinted her eyes in confusion as her folds immediately lined up on her forehead.
'What has what she is cooking got to do with her ability to cook?' She thought to herself.
"I saw her with a pack of pasta." She replied.
Immediately butler Gu heard that, the wrinkles on his face quickly dissipated as his lips left out a sigh of relief.
His steps completely slowed as if he wasn't the same person in a hurry to go over to the kitchen to go and and check on Zhang Liling.
His completely different reaction surprised the housekeeper who immediately asked what was wrong.
"If Miss Zhang is preparing pasta, let her be." He replied with his gaze ahead.
"Why?" Ms. Chu probed with a curious gaze on him.
Without wasting both of their time, butler Gu replied, "She is terrible at cooking anything except for making pastas."
Only if Zhang Liling could hear what he had just said about her, it wouldn't be surprising if she flared up at him.
Ms. Chu couldn't believe her ears and went on to ask questions to justify his response. She was still in disbelief until she learned that Zhang Liling was terrible at making tea also.
The woman was left speechless.
After making the pasta, Zhang Liling took out the portion for Mr. Fang and put it in a warmer to await his return.
The Chef shook his head as he watched her scurry off with a plate of food in hand.
He was confused and didn't know if there was still a need for him to serve the dinner he prepped for Mr. Fang, but after pondering over the fact that no instruction from him countered his normal duty, he went on to also serve the food he cooked.
When Mr. Fang returned from work and freshened up, he walked over to the dinning room only to see 2 sets of food on the table. His eyes squinted.
"What's going on here?" He mumbled to himself as his brows knitted.
His entire face was already contoured in a frown by the time he had taken his seat.
