Mr. Fang's Feisty Mistress

Chapter 215 The Tang Family

Chapter 215 The Tang Family

Tang Enlai sat at the foots of the bed chuckling heartily to himself.

He didn't look drunk at all even after downing several glasses of alcohol.

Earlier, he had been annoyed, but after managing to get his wife or riled up, he seemed to have dropped his unhappiness aside.

A few moments later, he left his things on the bed and left for the inner room clad only in his pants, and soon, the servants Zhang Xiaoling had ordered to clean up their bedroom, came in.

The young female servants picked up the clothes scattered on the bed and out then all in the laundry basket before changing the cheers.

Then before leaving the room, they sprayed some air-freshener and adjusted the temperature.

By the time Zhang Xiaoling returned to the room, Tang Enlai was already sitting in bed dressed in casual clothing.

Seeing her walk into the room with a calm gaze, he guessed that her anger had slowly calmed.

Keeping his gaze on her, a small smile played at the corner of his lips. "You are back?"

"Were you expecting me to be gone forever?" Zhang Xiaoling retorted before stepping into the inner room without sparing him a glance.

Tang Enlai did not mind. He returned his gaze back to his phone and typed away as the bright screen lit up on his face.

A few minutes later, Zhang Xiaoling returned. Her black wavy hair that cascaded down her back was now gathered and secured in a ponytail.

As she walked passed his side and went straight for the door she asked, "Should I tell your parents that you won't be coming down for breakfast?"

Looking up from his phone, he asked, "Is that a threat?"

"You are not a child. This should never come as a form of threat to you." She said before bending the door handle and pulling the door before stepping outside and shutting the door behind.

What she actually meant was simple. She was saying that threatening him with those words didn't make any sense since it was not a child.

In essence, those words could only be used to threaten children, and if she wanted to threaten him, then soemthing more powerful should be used instead.

Tang Enlai understood this and shook his head before turning off his phone and standing up to leave the bedroom.

His relationship with his wife Zhang Xiaoling, has always been like this.

Right from their first date, they didn't bother hiding their feelings and thoughts from each other. The only thing they didn't know about each other, was some family issues from their respective sides.

Knowing what each other thought, had thus far made their relationship less awkward and kind of true.

They did not bother to hide their irritation, or care what the other person would think of them if the behaved or reacted in a certain way.

If there was something they didn't like about each other, then they had to put up with it. They could very well see and remember the foundation of their relationship. There was nothing discreet about it, and also it was not built on love.

They were married, but living their lives they way they wanted.

At the dining area, Mr. Tang and his wife were already sitting at the two ends of the large dining table meant for 10 people.

Apart from this couple, there were a few other people sitting around the table. Two more mature men that had a striking resemblance to Tang Enlai, and two younger women, sitting by their left sides.

Zhang Xiaoling and Tang Enlai were the last to arrive. Immediately the settled on the their respective seats next to each other, Mrs. Tang looked their way with a slight frown.

"Would you two not keep us waiting and come down on time?" She asked looking between them.

She looked to be annoyed because of the few minutes everyone had to wait for them to join then in the dinner table.

Both Zhang Xiaoling and Tang Enlai were calm as they servants standing by the side immediately stepped forward to serve their own portion of the several dishes at the center of the long glass table.

The others sitting around the table glanced their way before shifting their gazes back to different directions.

The younger male who happened to be Tang Enlai's last brother, smiled at their mother while saying...

"Mother, have you forgotten that these two are the latest couple in the family. Who knows, they may be working hard on blessing you with another grandchild."

Mr. Tang and Mrs. Tang glanced at their first child and his wife meaningfully, before the latter said, "I believe there is time for everything."

She was saying that during the time for dinner, then they should really come down and not keep them waiting.

After dinner, there was still enough time for them to do whatever they wanted.

All this while, Zhang Xiaoling did not raise her head. Instead, she picked up her cutlery and began to eat.

Tang Enlai was no different from her. He didn't say a word and had a serious expression on his face as he used his knife to cut the steak on his plate.

But when his mother finished speaking, he sent a piece of the steak into his mouth and chews on it for a few moment before turning his attention toward his father who was now eating calmly.

"Dad, are you going for the Old Lady's birthday party? I heard she sent a private invitation to our family."

The second son of the Tang family hurriedly interjected while looking between his father and elder brother.

"I heard her party is a disguise to find a suitable wife for Fang Bingwen. I'm sure so many socialites were invited to her party."

"The old lady must be getting really worked for her very successful grandson to still be single." The third son and last child of the Tang family added with a playful smirk at the corner of his lips.

He seemed to find the whole situation funny, and just thinking about it, somehow reminded him of how his eldest brother was forced to settle down.

With those thoughts running through his mind, he glanced at Tang Enlai and their gazes met.

Giving him a knowing smile, he quickly looked away and gazed back to the food in his plate.
