“Brother, I let it go already.”

Lin Chen kept his hand on the wheel and looked at Lin Nuan. She didn’t seem to be lying.

He looked back on the road and nodded. “Letting go is the best!”

Lin Nuan noticed the Maybach following them from the rearview mirror. She couldn’t see the license plate, yet she still felt nervous.

Was it Fu Huai’an?

There were a lot of luxury cars in Haicheng, as well as people driving Maybachs. Lin Nuan tried to calm herself down instead of assuming that it was Fu Huai’an’s car.

Lin Chen parked the car at the station. Lin Nuan unbuckled her seatbelt and said to Lin Chen, “I’ll be on my way. Have a safe ride back.”

“Xiao Nuan!”

Lin Nuan looked back. “Yes?”

The sky was already getting dark when it was only five in the afternoon. The sparkling street lights shot through the leaves and fell on Lin Nuan’s fine and pretty face, accentuating her slightly mature aura.

Lin Chen gently gulped as he swallowed back what he was going to say. He then said in a low voice, “Please discuss family matters with me first before you make a decision!”

She nodded as she knew he referred to the incident of her getting the documents from Fu Huai’an. “I got it, brother.”

Lin Nuan nodded. “See you.”

Lin Nuan called Song Yao as she watched his car drive away.

She intended to call her during the ride, yet Lin Chen was right there. Hence she decided to delay the call since she was going to mention Ceng Mo and Lin Chen would have gotten curious.

The wind swept past her and sent a shiver down her spine. The leaves rustled as water spilled down. She kept one hand on her head and dashed under the shelter at the bus stop. She tucked wet messy strands of hair behind her ear.

“The number you are dialing is out of service…”

Lin Nuan furrowed her eyebrows and texted Song Yao so she would call her back quickly.

The advertisement at the bus stop covered Lin Nuan with a soft glow.

A car flashed its lights in Lin Nuan’s direction.

She turned.

A Maybach was parked close by. Lin Nuan felt a leap in her stomach as she put her phone back in her purse and walked towards the Maybach.

She looked through the window and saw that familiar face and felt her heart race.

She pulled open the door and sat inside, unable to contain her joy. “Why are you here?”

Fu Huai’an smiled back. “To pick you up.”

Fu Huai’an’s phone began to ring. He glanced at the lock screen and ignored the call.

She decided not to ask how Fu Huai’an knew she was there. She recalled when she saw his car from the rearview mirror earlier.

She sank into her seat, feeling butterflies in her stomach. “Did you follow the car the whole way?”

He nodded as the phone kept vibrating.

He didn’t answer it and focused on driving. He was preparing to turn left.

“Where are we going?” Lin Nuan asked.

“To Tian Fuwan. Tuan Tuan misses you.” He finally picked up his phone to decline the call and shut it down.

Lin Nuan nodded. As they passed a bakery shop, she let him park by the road for a few minutes to buy a strawberry cake for Tuan Tuan.
