Even after getting a divorce and joining the entertainment industry, Stella could meet so many people to help her along the way. She managed to work with a good director like Daniel on her first drama and was favored by a big company like Elegant Media at the same time.
Meanwhile, Bella had to sell her body to get the same opportunity as Stella.
It took her so long to finally have a drama that could blow up, yet The Palace came out of nowhere like a dark horse and trampled her.
She made a bet with the production team of World Peace, stating that if World Peace could secure the top viewership spot of the year, the production team would sign her for their next big drama, Twinkling Lights”.
That was why she ditched The Tea Merchant for the controversial drama, World Peace.
The director of Twinkling Light was very fond of Nicole, so Bella agreed to film World Peace just to secure herself an opportunity to be a part of the drama.
However, the viewership of World Peace was declining while The Palace was soaring. If she continued to sit back and do nothing, she would become someone that Stella described her to be; someone who could only film idol dramas for a few more years before getting old.
Bella finally made up her mind after thinking about that. Then, she spoke in a low voice, “I need you to find someone for me…”
Stella was done with her makeup very soon later.
She looked into the mirror and adjusted a few strands of hair beside her ear. Then, she lifted her head and met with Leighton’s eyes.
Leighton moved away with a swoosh and avoided eye contact with her.
Stella was stunned.
’Are top actors all so unpredictable?’
They had been filming together for almost two months. Although they were a couple in the drama, they did not have a lot of scenes together. Stella would try to start a conversation with him whenever they filmed a scene together, but he would always be on his phone with a cold expression.
He looked as if he did not want to talk to anybody, so Stella never approached him.
Thinking that Leighton was about to finish filming his scenes and how he shielded her from boiling water previously, she never had the chance to thank him properly. So, she bit the bullet and walked over to him.
“Leighton… Dude, are you free after we finish filming tomorrow?”
Stella decided to call him dude after contemplating it for some time.
Leighton was younger than her, so calling him Mr. would make him look old. But, calling him by his name did not feel very right either. So, she settled with dude.
Leighton was a tall and handsome guy, just like a handsome dude in university. ‘Hm… More handsome than the most handsome guy in my university,’ Stella thought to herself.
Leighton was clearly a little surprised that she took the initiative to talk to him. He cleared his throat and said, “Probably. Why?”
Stella replied in a low voice, “I still owe you a meal, right? I want to make it upto you.”
Leighton realized what it was about and immediately said, “I’m actually free tonight.”
He could not wait for another day at all.
Stella paused. “Don’t you have somewhere to be after this?”
“No. Who told you-” Leighton stopped halfway and suddenly thought about his quirky manager, so he immediately corrected himself. “I was supposed to go, but it got canceled at the last minute.”
“Oh, let’s have a meal tonight then. I’ll send you the address after we’re done filming later. See you there.”
Stella walked away after saying that.
Leighton’s heart pounded with excitement, and he did not get angry when his manager made fun of him either. He said, “Get someone to send me a few outfits. I want to look good.”
