Chapter 1185

Not long after, Keegan and Vermont finally freed themselves from social engagements and walked over to the girls. Keegan casually grabbed a banana and handed it to Stella. When she was about to peel the fruit, Keegan signaled her and said, ’Albert’s here. Time to put on a show.’

Stella paused and threw the banana at Keegan, saying, ’Stop getting ahead of yourself. I don’t like eating bananas.”

Vermont was taken aback by how fast Stella got into character while Albert stood nearby, observing the two.

Keegan held the banana in his hand and asked after a while, “Well, what do you want to eat? I’ll go get it for you.”

“What does it matter to you what I want to eat?’ Stella sounded impatient.” Can’t you just go away?”

“Stella, what are you doing? Keegan is just concerned about you. What are we going to do about that temper of yours?” Albert came over and said.

Stella kept a straight face and stayed quiet.

Albert wanted to find out what Stella was to Keegan now that they were divorced. He nearly had a heart attack when he saw Stella throwing the banana at Keegan. ‘Sigh. This brat is as stubborn as her mother. Who does she think she is? Does she really think Keegan would spoil her and let her have her way forever?’

Albert was afraid Keegan would get angry, so he quickly apologized on Stella’s behalf, “Are you okay, Keegan? Sorry for the trouble. Stella’s temper is getting worse day by day. I can’t believe she hasn’t taken the time to reflect on herself after the divorce.’

Felicity was mad that he would say such things about her best friend.’

Didn’t Keegan and Stella divorce because of her mother’s death? Albert didn’t even lift a finger during the funeral. How dare he have the nerve to criticize her?’

“It’s nothing, Mr. Jewell. Stella didn’t do anything wrong,” Keegan pursed his lips and said.

His words left Albert aback, wondering if Keegan’s love for Stella had clouded his judgment. Soon, Albert realized that it was a good thing. ‘Given that he’s obeying Stella’s every wish and command, I could benefit from his company if I win Stella over,’ he thought.

With that in mind, Albert changed his tone immediately. “You’re spoiling her, Keegan. I know my daughter,” he said before continuing, “Stella, the fact that Mr. Kane showed up means that he values your relationship. You should work on your attitude. Do you think other men would dote on you like Keegan does, especially since you’re a divorcee now?”

Stella found that funny. ‘Just say you want to suck him dry.’ She pretended to sulk and impatiently replied, “Who cares?”

“I just think it’s better that you work on things with your initial partner rather than finding someone else, you know?” said Albert.

“But, Mr. Jewell, your current bride isn’t your initial partner either,’ Felicity interrupted.

Albert did not know what to say. It was ironic of him to judge Stella when he cheated on his wife and married his mistress. He was embarrassed, but he quickly regained his composure. “I’m speaking from experience. Sadly, there’s no way to turn back time and stop myself from doing what I did. The only thing I can do now is to make up for my past by preventing my daughter from making the same mistake.”

‘I can’t believe he’s trying to spin things around. I bet Mom wanted a divorce because she had seen through all his lies,’ Stella thought.

As the conversation progressed, Sophia walked over arm in arm with a man. “Dad, what are you doing here? The ceremony is about to begin. Mom is waiting for you.”

“There’s no need to rush,” said Albert, calling the two over and introducing them to the others. “Keegan, this is Ethan Shaw. He is Sophia’s boyfriend and one of the founders of Celestial Media.” He then turned to the man next to Sophia and said, “Ethan, this is Keegan Kane, the CEO of Vinci Rivera.’
