Stella was in an apron, with a spoon in one hand and her phone in the other. Her eyes were fixed on the screen, completely unaware of the person behind her.
The pot on the stove bubbled and simmered, its aroma filling the kitchen.

He held his breath and gently wrapped his arm around her waist. “What are you cooking?” He rested his chin on her shoulder and inquired in a deep voice.
Stella was startled, but she relaxed upon recognizing his voice. Initially, she had planned to give Felicity the medicinal recipe directly. However, Stella realized she did not have an answer for how effective the remedy was. So, she decided to prepare a batch for Keegan to try first. This way, she could gauge and relay his reaction to Felicity later.
“Dr. Quinn gave me the recipe for a nourishing soup that helps replenish energy and boost blood circulation. I followed his instructions and cooked a pot. I assumed you could use a little boost since you’ve been staying up late frequently due to work,” she explained.
“I see,” Keegan responded. “What ingredients did you use?”
Stella hesitated for a moment and replied, “Just some common herbs like cordyceps, angelica roots, and some gelatin.”
Keegan noticed a bag of dried herbs nearby and reached out to take a look. Stella, feeling a tad guilty, quickly moved the bag away. “Did you wash your hands?” She asked.
“What’s in that bag?” Keegan inquired.
‘They’re angelica roots. They’re really good quality. Look at how thick they are,” said Stella with a straight face.
Did she think I couldn’t distinguish cordyceps from angelica roots?’ thought Keegan.
Cordyceps are known to improve sexual function and libido in men with erectile dysfunction.
“… It sure does look thick,” Keegan said. “Was it expensive?”
Stella turned her head and planted a kiss on his cheek. “Who cares when it can help improve your health?”
Keegan would have been swept away on his feet if he did not know Stella had secretly asked for this prescription for another man.
“Why didn’t you let Dr. Quinn examine me before prescribing this natural remedy?”
Stella coughed and explained, “Well, since we live together, I know all your symptoms.”
“Oh,” Keegan replied, unsure if he believed her. After a while, he asked, “Is this medicine just for replenishing my energy and improving blood circulation?”
“Yes,” Stella replied, maintaining her composure. “Let me know if it’s effective or if there are any side effects after you try it later. I’ll tell Dr. Quinn about it and see if we need to adjust the formula.”
Keegan’s eyes darkened. He tried to smile but could not bring himself to it. “Thanks, honey,” he said.
Feeling guilty, Stella did not dare look into his eyes. She patted his arm and said, “Go wash your hands. The soup will be ready soon.”
Keegan nodded and let go of her waist. He then turned around and left the kitchen. He could no longer control his expression once he was out of there. His face turned ugly in frustration.
‘Not only did she get a prescription for another man, but she’s also treating me as a guinea pig! I can’t wait to find out which asshole is trying to steal my partner from me,’ thought Keegan.
