Chapter 155

Chapter 155 “Who told you I was worried about her?” Joshua’s words contradicted his true thoughts. Whenever he saw Cynthia, he could not help but think about her and Mitchell. Yoel blurted out, “Just a moment ago, you rushed into the fire for Ms. Yates.” Joshua’s gaze turned icy. Was he too easy on Yoel these days? “You two should talk. I’ll wait for you in the car.” Yoel ignored Joshua’s terrifying gaze. He did not even glance at him and slipped away. He got into the car and casually locked the doors. Joshua did not pay much attention to his words and walked toward the car. He intended to open the door but realized the car was locked. Joshua was shocked. He emanated a terrifying chill as he shouted, “Yoel!” Yoel kept his head down, refusing to look outside. As long as he did not meet Joshua’s gaze, he would be fine!

“Did you come to see me?” Cynthia asked. Joshua was still angry and was not friendly toward Cynthia. “Do you think I would come to find you?” “No,” Cynthia replied. Joshua’s expression grew colder, infuriated by her response. He knew this woman was heartless. No matter how much he worried about her, he was just someone cold and heartless in her eyes. “I’m glad you’re aware of that. The only thing I’m worried about is that marriage certificate. If it gets burned, I won’t have time to accompany you to get it reissued,” Joshua retorted, his tone becoming more frigid. “As long as I have all the necessary documents, I can do it on my own,” Cynthia calmly replied. Joshua was rendered speechless.

A fire burned inside him, and he really could not stand being with Cynthia anymore. Seeing Yoel still pretending inside the car, he raised his hand and knocked on his window. Yoel was conflicted. Should he unlock it? What if Cynthia and Joshua had not settled things yet? Before Yoel could resolve his dilemma, he received a message from Joshua on his phone. [If you don’t unlock the door now, you’ll be fired.] 7/2 Yoel was terrified and quickly put down his phone. Then, he unlocked the car door and swiftly got out of the car. Afraid of incurring Joshua’s resentment, he opened the door and gestured, “Mr. Neal, please get in the car.” Joshua entered with an icy aura, with his gaze as cold as ice. Even Yoel was chilled by the low pressure in the car. “Ms. Yates, we’re leaving,” he informed Cynthia as he sat in the driver’s seat. Cynthia responded, “O Okay.” The car disappeared into the night quickly. Yoel could not bear the oppressive atmosphere in the car. After carefully choosing his words, he tried to engage Joshua in conversation, hoping to ease the tension. “Mr. Neal, you clearly care about Ms. Yates, so why would you say you don’t?” “Will you care about someone who betrayed you?” Joshua retorted. Question marks popped up in Yoel’s mind. ‘Betrayal? Did Ms. Yates betrayed you?” Joshua pursed his lips and remained silent. He did not mention Cynthia’s involvement with Mitchell. Cynthia was a woman, and while Yoel would not gossip, he knew that such information would tarnish Cynthia’s reputation. “You’re getting divorced on Wednesday. After this divorce, Ms. Yates might return to Nexuria, and you may never cross paths again,” Yoel said, frustrated with Joshua’s lack of understanding-

Joshua furrowed his brow. He had not given it much thought when Cynthia requested a villa as part of the conditions. If she really intended to return to Nexuria, she would not have asked for a villa. “Mr. Neal.” “Did you finish investigating the matter I asked you to look into?”
