Chapter 507

There were people below to catch her, Cynthia would be fine. As for the ones above, he would hold off Yerick and his men. He had promised her safety.

When Cynthia caught sight of the yacht below, she understood the plan. As she began her fall, she swiftly grabbed Joshua with her gun–bearing hand and yanked him down with her.

In thes

instant, a stack of playing cards appeared in her other hand, which she rapidly flung at Yerick and his men.

The entire sequence occurred in a matter of one or two seconds, Yerick had not anticipated their sudden action; as Cynthia and Joshua began their descent, his face was scratched by the flying cards Cynthia had thrown. Several armed men nearby were also injured by Cynthia.

Splash

Both plunged into the water simultaneously. The people on the yacht immediately fished them out.

Just as Joshua got on board and was about to pull Cynthia up, he saw Yerick at the edge of the cliff, gun aimed at them.

It was aimed at Cynthia

Bang!

A bullet ripped through the air, the heatwave preceding it. Before Joshua could even process the situation, he instinctively lunged to shield Cynthia. The bullet penetrated his back, instantly staining his

white shirt crimson.

Joshua, bearing the intense pain, hoisted Cynthia up onto the yacht. Just as Verick was preparing to take his second shot, Cynthia took aim at him with her own gun. Before she could even pull the trigger, Yerick’s weapon was knocked out of his

band.

Suddenly, a group of people dressed in military attire appeared behind him, surrounding him. The man leading them was Captain. At the sight of him, Cynthia breathed a sigh of relief

Rather than halting the yacht, she decided to keep moving. There was no point in stopping here; cliffs surrounded them on all sides, and they had no means of climbing up. Most importantly, Joshua’s body was burning hot. They needed to get him to a hospital urgently.

As for Yerick, Captain could handle him.

Yerick let out a slight tsk when Matthew appeared. “Matthew, it’s been a while,” he said.

“He’s in your hands now, boys.” Matthew shot a quick glance at Yerick, ignoring his attempts at conversation, “Remember to seal off this island. No one should approach it until the explosives are disarmed.

“Don’t worry,” was the response from his men.

With that, Matthew departed without further delay. From the scene below, it was clear that Joshua had been shot, and if blood–soaked clothing was any indication, It was serious. If they did not act fast, it could be fatal. He had intended to call Cynthia but realized she had no means of communication with her. So he left to find them himself.

Meanwhile, on the yacht, once Cynthia saw that everyone had been captured, she turned her attention to Joshua. “Yerick took a shot earlier. Did you get bit?” she asked.

“No, the yacht was moving. He missed.” Joshua’s lips were white

Cynthia breathed a sigh of relief

Before she could check for herself, Joshua called out to the man steering the yacht. “Give me a jacket. It’s a bit chilly.”

The man immediately removed his black jacket and handed it over. Normally, Joshua was a neat freak, but he took the jacket without hesitation and put it on, hiding the bloodstain on the back of his white shirt. His request for a jacket was designed to lep Cynthia from discovering the truth.
