What was going on?

“Sister?” Joshua murmured, his confused eyes showing a hint of curiosity. He did not know why, but even though he did not like interacting with people, not even the doctor who treated him, he felt a strong sense of familiarity when he saw Cynthia,

if he had known her for a long thine.

Cynthia was shocked.

Cynthia concluded instantly that Joshua had lost his memory.

Sean walked over, smiling gently. “That’s right. She’s your sister. You can go home with her now.”

Joshua stared at Cynthia. Then, he stood up and approached Cynthia, asking with confusion and curiosity, “Are you really my sister?

“…” Cynthia tried to speak

“Yes, she’s your sister,” Sean interrupted, taking over the conversation, and added, “Pack your things. Your sister and I have something to discuss.”

As he spoke, Sean gestured for Cynthia to follow him out.

Outside in the corridor, Cynthia’s heart was in turmoil. She had considered various symptoms mentioned by Yves before, but she had not expected this.

“What exactly happened?” Cynthia asked Sean.

“He lost all of his memories, and his intelligence is about that of a five–year–old child. Although it’s unfortunate, it’s already much better than other scenarios.” Sean did not hide anything and explained the situation, also going over some important points.

Most importantly, even though Joshua’s intelligence had regressed to that of a five–year–old, he was still intelligent, which was also why Sean wanted him to be sent away.

If Joshua stayed, he would dismantle all his equipment!

“You should be grateful that he hasn’t completely lost his mental capabilities,” Sean emphasized.

Cynthia’s thoughts were a mess, experiencing a mixture of emotions. “Will he get better?”

“He will. But I can’t say for sure when he will fully recover. It’s best not to expose him to any stressful situations after taking him home,” Sean assured her, glancing back at the room.

“Do I need to take him to familiar places to stimulate his memory?” Cynthia asked

“Not for now. He currently has the mind of a child, and if he experiences any stimulation, it can easily lead to other issues. It’s best for his recovery to have a stable and nurturing environment,” Sea replied.

“Okay,” Cynthia responded softly.

Sean pursed his lips. After a while, he finally mentioned something that seemed inappropriate but needed to be said, “I know what happened between you and him, but I hope you can temporarily set aside the past and take care of him. Once he recovers, you can go your separate ways.”

Cynthia remembered the past events and stared at him.

Sean felt a bit uneasy and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Didn’t he want us to go our separate ways? If that’s the case, won’t taking care of him be stimulating for him?” Cynthia

reiterated the matter.

“That’s a long story,” Sean replied calmly. Stuce Cynthia had already signed the documents and Joshua’s problem was mostly resolved, he continued, “But rest assured, since I asked you to come and take him home, it means that you taking care of him will be beneficial for lits recovery.”

Cynthia did not give Sean a chance and urged, “Cut to the chase.”

“This matter won’t significantly impact you. Your goal is to go your separate ways with him, and he will fulfill his promise after he recovers. Knowing tou much about other aspects will only burden you mentally, so it’s necessary,” Sean clarified.

“Whether it’s necessary or not, only I know,” Cynthia said indifferently. Perhaps it was her nature, but she wanted to clarify

her doubts, and she would not pry into matters that did not raise any suspicions

Joshua’s message through Sean was too strange; it would linger in her mind if she did not address this doubt. Although it was nat a major concern, it was still an existing issue.

“Alright, I can tell you, but you’ll have to

to protect me from Joshua if he finds out after he recovers.” Sean decided not to hide anything.
