Chapter 186 Other Side of the City
Chapter 186 Other Side of the City
Zhao Lifei gasped when he suddenly picked her up and without warning, carried her into her room, all in a matter of two minutes. She blinked and found herself on his lap, sitting on the bed.
"Kiss me." He demanded, puzzling her. She tilted her head, wondering where his sudden desire came from.
"What’s wrong?" She asked him, bringing her hands up to cup his cheeks, marveling at his honey-toned skin. She saw the uneasiness in his eyes, the way his arms snaked around her, refusing to let her go.
"What did your grandfather tell you?"
"That I should leave you."
In the next second, a snowstorm blew into the room, the wind colder than a blizzard. Accompanying it was a surge of fearsome, murderous intent. His face was blank, but that did not stop the change in the atmosphere.
She sighed at his temperament and when she felt that he was going to stand up, she pressed her entire body weight down on him to force him to sit back down.
"Are you going to listen to him?" His protective arms suddenly became the very ones that caged her to him, pressing tight against her spine when he flexed them in an attempt to restrain his anger.
"If I did, would I be here now?" She ran her hand through his hair, marveling at how thick and silky smooth it was. She needed to find out what brand of conditioner he was using...
She could feel his body relaxing the slightest bit beneath her.
"You can’t leave me, you’re mine now." He muttered, his words surprising her.
"Yang Feng—"
"I should take you to the marriage bureau right now." He added on, looking so adamant at his words that she felt her heart quiver and shake.
"No one can call it kidnapping then." He mumbled, pulling her closer to him, changing her position so that she was straddling him.
Zhao Lifei blinked when he rested his head on her chest, nestling it there. "U-uhm, Yang Feng..." She trailed off upon seeing he had dozed off, his eyes peacefully shut close. She breathed out in shock at how fast he had fallen asleep once again. Was he that tired?
She tried to wiggle herself out of his lap in hopes of having him properly lay down on the bed, but it was practically impossible with the iron-grip he had around her. After struggling for what felt like an eternity, she was finally able to get him to lie down on the bed, given, they were on the same side, but it was better than nothing.
She couldn’t help but smile a bit at his sleeping face. He looked like an innocent little baby, so peaceful and calm, completely contradictory to his true behavior. She changed their position again so that she laid flat on the bed, but even so, he was still resting on her, his face resting slightly above her chest.
"You’re a big baby." She muttered, glad his arms had loosened a bit in their struggle. She complained a bit more, but continued to run her hand through his hair, her other arm giving his upper shoulder a pat every few minutes.
Her eyelids were beginning to droop and soon, she also fell asleep This time, she was not plagued with nightmares...

Yang Feng stirred, his brows slightly scrunched when he felt that the fabric on his face was different from his usual pillow. It was softer, bouncier, and a lot more comfortable...
He opened his eyes and saw a mound in his vision. He looked up and was surprised to see a slightly drooling Zhao Lifei who had fallen fast asleep. His lips lifted into a slight smirk while he sat up, closed her mouth and wiped the corners of it with the tissue by her nightstand.
He ran a hand through his hair and noticed it was messier than usual. He realized the comforting sensation during his sleep was probably due to her fingers and that made him smile a bit.
Seeing she was still fast asleep, he glanced out the window and saw that the sun was still high in the air. He checked the clock and realized it was only two in the afternoon, which meant they had slept for three hours. He heaved a tired sigh and pulled the blanket higher and tucked her in.
He did not expect himself to fall asleep against her, but he was so exhausted the previous night, it just happened without warning.
He spent the majority of the night wondering if she would suddenly disappear the next day because Zhao Moyao shipped her off somewhere. He was scared she would be so brainwashed by her grandfather’s words, she would not want to see him. He was glad she did not pull away from him.
Seeing as he couldn’t sleep in the middle of the night, Yang Feng had finalized all of the documents and shipped it off to Chen Gaonan, just so he could clear up his morning schedule, but that was still not enough seeing as the pesky secretary was still sending him messages, constantly asking where he was.
Yang Feng worked on his phone to finalize some reports and paperwork. He had all of his meetings changed to tomorrow just so he could dedicate today to Zhao Lifei.
Zhao Lifei missed the warmth that once covered more than half of her body and because of it, she slowly woke up. Turning her head to the side, she tiredly blinked, rubbing her eyes. As the memories came back, she abruptly sat up in bed and let out a slight shriek when she saw Yang Feng sitting right beside her.
"Y-you’re awake." She mumbled, checking the time and sighing in relief. It would be a while before her grandfather comes home.
Yang Feng nodded, brushing her messy hair away. He placed his phone down and asked, "Are you hungry?"
Zhao Lifei shook her head and right afterward, her stomach made a loud noise resembling a whale’s mating call. Her face became red in embarrassment.
He let out a burst of loud laughter, the sound warming her insides and sending butterflies to flutter in her stomach.
"Let’s get you some food." He grinned.
"Okay..." She mumbled, turning away from him to hide the blush. She climbed out of the bed to get ready.
Zhao Lifei brushed her teeth again, tied up her hair, placed on a small layer of makeup, and then threw on a new pair of clothes before walking downstairs where Yang Feng was already waiting for her. She felt envious that despite falling asleep on the same bed as her, his outfit and appearance was on point — not a single flaw in place.
"Let’s go." He entwined their hands together, pulling her out of the door and into the car where he drove her to a luxurious restaurant and practically ordered her half of the menu. She could barely finish all of it. In order for the food to not go to waste, she packed up the ones they did not touch.
Yang Feng made sure she ate more than enough just so he could ensure she was not losing more weight than ever, even though it would be practically impossible with how much food he constantly had her eat...
Afterward, Zhao Lifei expected him to drive her home, but to her surprise, he drove to the other side of the city, far from the Zhao Mansion.
"Where are we going?" She curiously asked him, looking out the window to see they were quickly approaching a very nice gated community. The path leading there was paved with neatly-trimmed trees, sparkling white and gold fences greeting her.
"Cerulean Water Pavilions, your new home." He had already placed all of the finishing touches. The house was already furnished with furniture with all of the lights and other necessities running perfectly smooth. Everything required for a comfortable living was set up and the only thing she had to do was live there.
