Chapter 113: Why Did You Not Give Me A Call?!
She thought that Ye Qiao had completely changed since she had not contacted her or Shen Xichuan for a month. To her surprise, Ye Qiao was still the same as she still bought their breakfast every day, like what she used to do!
Thus, Li Yun finally felt relieved.
“Finish it up quickly before it gets cold. Where’s Shen Xichuan? Is his arm better now? I don’t know if both of you had looked for me during the break because my grandpa confiscated my pager.” Ye Qiao said as she passed a packet of breakfast to Li Yun.
“Shen Xichuan was kind of angry since he couldn’t reach you!” Li Yun said in a blaming manner.
The memory of Li Yun aggressively accusing her in court and the things she had said when she visited Ye Qiao in prison suddenly crept into Ye Qiao’s mind as she gazed at her.
“Yes, I’m jealous of you, Ye Qiao! You’re just a naive girl from the countryside but you’re also the granddaughter who was born into Ye family! Why are you the one married to Lu Beixiao?!”
“Ahh! This is too spicy!” Li Yun screamed after taking the first mouthful of the breakfast and almost spat out the food. Coincidentally, a few male schoolmates passed by; hence, she refrained from spitting out the food to protect her graceful image.
Reluctantly, she endured the spiciness and kept in her mouth.
“Oh! Did you take the wrong one? The spicy one is for Shen Xichuan. He likes it spicy.” Ye Qiao said with a frown. She continued, “Are you okay? Why don’t you quickly spit it out!?”
Flushed, Li Yun shook her head as she kept a smile on her face! She was so good at pretending!
Meanwhile, Ye Qiao sneered silently. Clearly, Ye Qiao knew Li Yun’s true colors inside out now!
The boys finally passed and Li Yun quickly ran to the bin and spat everything out. “What’s wrong with you, Qiao Qiao? Why didn’t you remind me?”
“You were the one who took it... It didn’t occur to me!” Ye Qiao disputed. At that time, Shen Xichuan walked toward them with one of his arms hung in front of his ribs.
He was wearing a white shirt and had a well-combed hairstyle. He looked handsome.
“Where did you go over the last few days, Ye Qiao!?” Shen Xichuan questioned her in an upset manner.
“Don’t be angry, Shen Xichuan. As I just told Li Yun, I went back to my hometown. My grandpa took my pager away and didn’t allow me to go out, that’s why I didn’t get to contact you.” Ye Qiao quickly explained.
“Why did you not give me a call then?” Shen Xichuan asked again.
‘Who do you think you are?!’ Ye Qiao sneered silently.
“Just stop scolding her, Ah Chuan! Here! I hope you don’t mind that I took a bite of the pastry?” Li Yun pretended to be a good peacemaker and gave the pastry which she took a bite of to Shen Xichuan.
Would he mind? Why would he mind since they had already kissed? She was just pretending in front of Ye Qiao!
Nevertheless, Shen Xichuan remained silent and ate the pastry after briefly examining it. On the other hand, Li Yun took the other one. Shen Xichuan has been ranting about Ye Qiao and even got angry at her for not wearing her glasses. Fortunately, they did not feel suspicious about what had happened as Ye Qiao used her grandpa as her excuse.
Ye Qiao felt that everything was so different in school. It was a good feeling to be able to sit inside the classroom again. They had not been assigned to their respective class yet as they were still in the second year of high school. Their class teacher, whose nickname was Abbess Miejue, was giving a briefing. “You’ll be required to sit for an exam when school officially starts, and then you’ll be assigned to either the science stream or arts stream depending on your results. Thus, I hope you’ll work harder over the next few days...”
Suddenly, a strange sound broke the silence from the students while Abbess Miejue was giving her speech. Everyone shifted their gaze to Li Yun and Ye Qiao as the sound came from their direction.
“Qiao Qiao! You...” Li Yun said as she glimpsed at Ye Qiao, intending to put the blame on her.
