Chapter 743 Don’t take my job

“You need to accept that you are sick and you have to rest to get better.” Murray frustedly said, his eyes were closed in deep anticipation.

The pitch of his voice was relatively high which stopped Melissa in her tracks. She was taken back by his sudden outburst.

“Otherwise you will apparently pay higher this time. These are not my words but what the doctor told me while you were unconscious.” He completed it.

“Doctor said this to you?” Melissa said in a questioning tone.

It’s doctors who aren’t allowing her to leave the hospital premises and it had nothing to do with Murray and she was doubting him.

“My heart will not be at ease if I don’t check the company’s condition. You know that this company is like my own baby and the employees are my family.”

“Melissa finally put her heart in her words, meanwhile Murray stayed silent.

Murray knew all of this, but he couldn’t give in. Although his heart wanted to comfort Melissa but he has to be tough because he can’t afford to lose her.

“Have a good rest.”

Murray just dropped the sentence without looking at her and left the ward.

After leaving, several bodyguards guarded the door of the ward in order to avoid the situation if Melissa would try to leave the place again.

Meanwhile Murray sat in his car which was parked in the hospital parking area. Melissa’s words kept echoing in his ears and what the doctor said wasn’t wrong either. “What should I do now?”

He closed his eyes slowly, he hadn’t had a good rest in the past few days.

Murray was alone in his car, the lights were dim there. He was trying to comprehend everything but at the same moment the latest news started ringing in the car’s bluetooth.

“After a few days of vigorous investigation by the police, several criminal gangs have finally been arrested. I would like to thank Ms. Eugen and Mr. Gibson for their strong support…”

The announcer’s crisp voice came, and then, another voice of Vivian Swanson came.

“I hope you are doing great Ms. Melissa. You are indeed a fighter and our role model. Everyone in the company misses you. Waiting for your arrival.”

After hearing Vivian’s message for Melissa, Murray got a jab of anger filled inside him. “He is also back now. When Melissa is not well, he has to be her hero again.”

Murray whispered and drove to Star Entertainment, then he walked in, and glanced at the front desk.

The receptionist was so frustrated at that moment that without looking up and without realizing who was standing there, she yelled.

“Excuse me..?” Murray said in disbelief.

“Mr. Gibson…”

She swallowed when she heard his voice. Then she bowed her head down weakly. Then she remembered that Murray had filled Melissa’s place for the time being.

Murray just nodded lightly, his mood was not good already and she felt like dark clouds were lingering on her. She was afraid of his cold behavior and she started thinking about why he was in a bad mood. “Have I made him angry or he already was?” She thought.

Without a delay, he straight away moved to Melissa’s cabin and started reading documents placed there.

When he saw the amount of work that Melissa had to deal with on a regular basis. He sighed that it was no wonder that her body couldn’t take it anymore.

“Melissa…Mr. Gibson.”

Shayna’s voice came from outside the door. She was walking past Melissa’s cabin and when she saw the door was closed, she found it quite abnormal.

She thought it was Melissa who was back, and was about to go in to greet her when she caught Murray’s dark eyes.

“What do you want?”

Murray sternly asked in an authoritative tone, and Shayna was too scared to say anything more.

“I thought it was Melissa…” She started but when she saw Murray’s eyes got darker after hearing that, she swallowed and greeted him in a low tone.

“Please close the door after leaving.”Murray broke the silence and indirectly asked her to leave.

“I can’t imagine how Melissa lives with a person like Murray.”.

She shook her head and was wondering about how the atmosphere is going to be like in the company in his presence.

She let out a deep sigh and kept mumbling while leaving the cabin, “Murray is indeed so scary…” She whispered while remembering the description that everyone had shared with her earlier.

Inside the office, Murray was completing Melissa’s work.

He read some documents and handled them well. Then he decided to open Twitter and see the situation there. Unexpectedly he found that some people were still abusing Melissa under the official blog of Star Entertainment.

“She hasn’t appeared for a long time. It seems like she is playing a big game.”

There were several comments like those that were spreading there.

“This group of netizens is so insensitive. They are still trolling someone who isn’t in her best of health. Do they think a person laying on the hospital bed is responsible for fulfilling their reckless demands?” He said through his gritted teeth.

Murray gave it a last glance and closed it. Fortunately, he didn’t let Melissa come to the company. Otherwise, it wasn’t possible for her to do so much work with such a weak body for now.”

Even if she were able to push herself and complete it, then she must have deteriorated her health more.

Then he thought something and opened his own Twitter account just to give a piece of information to those insensitive netizens through the page of Star Entertainment.

“My wife is in the hospital and needs to rest.”

In the hospital, Melissa was worried about Star Entertainment.

“Why have you filled my place at the company and completed my work without telling me?”

“I’m worried about your health. I don’t want anything to happen to you.”

Murray explained, then he moved a little closer to Melissa and grabbed her hand.

“Don’t touch me.” Melissa said and pulled her hand back from his grip, “I don’t like it if you keep me here when so many things are bothering me.”

“Okay, it’s my fault.”

Murray tried to make peace with Melissa as he can’t stay angry with her for a long time and he had been thinking about it for a long time in the company today.

If she will take so much stress again and overworked then it will be very difficult for her to recover and it will cause more physical discomfort so to avoid that Murray decided to lure her. Stop being angry now, darling!”

Murray started talking in a romantic way and tried to deal with her more carefully.”

“Melissa, get a hold on yourself.” She scolded herself but her eyes never left the sight of the chocolate cake.

“No! I haven’t given in. It’s just because the food in the hospital is not so good. Almost all of them were porridge and vegetables” She tried to reason her act.”

She, who had not eaten choco lava cake for a long time, kept her ,eyes intact on it. A smirk was plastered on Murray’s face as his plan was already working. Without a delay, he kept the cake in front of her.

He knew that even though Melissa was behaving tough outside, she was still a little girl at the bottom of her heart.

“Can I taste this?” She finally spoke with a small piece of cake in her hand.

Murray smiled faintly and then said, “It’s all yours. I have especially brought this from your favorite shop.”.

A huge smile adorned Melissa’s face but Murray stopped her in between, “But it’s the last time when I am bringing this for you without doctor’s permission.”

“Fine.. Fine.” She didn’t let him complete and put the whole cake in her mouth.

“Umm… So delicious, I was missing this so badly.” She mourned, making Murray imagine all kinds of wild things he could do to her.

He was mesmerized with the sight in front of him. The whole cake was smudged at the corner of her lips. When Melissa felt a heated gaze on her, she looked up and then hesitantly asked,” What are you

looking at?” “What do you think?” Murray laughed. By then her cheeks were flushed but her voice was steady as she answered,” I don’t know.”

At this, Murray leaned in impossibly closer, the slender muscles in his forearm flex as he bent his lips to bring himself nearer to her, almost touching her face. She was heady with his proximity and her heart was pondering with the highest speed. She turned her face in the other direction.

“I am sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you.” He took a curl of her hair, turning her to face him. He could feel the tension in his own body, the effort of holding back, of not giving in to his desires at that particular moment.

However dangerous and stupid and unwise his act was, but at last he gave in. His mouth came down on hers. And that was it. All the self control he exerted over the past few minutes went away. Meanwhile Melissa arms came up around his neck, and she pulled him more into her.

His hands flattened against her back. She was kissing him as fiercely as he was kissing her. He clung to her more tightly, rubbing her back, trying to tell her how much he loves her and cares for her. “We are in hospital,” Melissa said in between her uneven breath. That’s when Murray realized what he was doing. He moved back. “I know you love and care for me a lot but promise me one thing,” Melissa broke the silence and Murray looked up at her. “What promise?” He frowned.

“You won’t stop me from going back to work.” She mumbled.

After giving it a long thought, Murray nodded and said, “Fine!I will not stop you.”

In order to make her feel better, Murray agreed for that moment.
