Chapter 136: Ch.135 Method to Maintain the Timeline

"So, Captain, what's your decision?" The AI's female avatar appeared on the screen, her expression serious.

"Uh... my decision..."

Sarah rubbed her head, noticing that the crew members around her were all staring at her expectantly. Her expression shifted dramatically.

"What decision? Did something happen?"

She acted as if she had temporary amnesia, her face full of confusion as she started twirling her golden hair with her fingers, questioning everyone.

"Oh no, the Captain's gone mad from the stress."

"Quick, get her to the medical bay!"

"We're doomed! We don't have a first officer, who's going to lead us if the Captain loses it?"

The crew started to panic. Atom was about to lift her up and carry her for treatment—after all, mental illness needs to be addressed early to prevent it from worsening.

"Put me down! I'm not sick!" Sarah struggled. She was the White Canary, after all—she had undergone grueling training with the Green Arrow and even trained for two years with the League of Assassins. In close combat, Atom, a scientist, was no match for her.

If Atom were wearing his suit, with the ability to grow and shrink, he might have been a formidable opponent. However, since no one was prepared, no one on the ship was a match for the White Canary.

She easily shook off her crew members and did a backflip, landing squarely on the sofa.

"Sarah, we're not saying you're sick, but a check-up couldn't hurt, right? Just a routine check-up," said the girl with glasses, approaching with a nervous smile.

The thing about mad people is that they never think they're mad—just like drunk people never admit they're drunk.

Sarah shot her a frustrated look. How could these people have such poor comprehension? Hadn't they noticed that the clever little historian had already sneaked away?

"Cough, cough! I mean, has Earth-0 been destroyed yet?"

Sarah assumed her captain's authority, adjusting her white leather outfit at the chest where it had almost revealed too much.

The crew members shook their heads in unison. Earth-0 was still intact, and it seemed like the Justice League had already brought the situation under control.

"Then have you noticed any unstable elements?" Sarah asked again.

The crew shook their heads once more. All the bad guys had been captured or turned into bits and pieces. What unstable elements could there be?

Sarah smugly crossed her arms, her blue eyes twinkling with mischief as she smiled and said, "Well then, if the outcome is good, everything is good. What temporal errors? They don't exist."

If they really needed to correct a temporal error, how would they go about it? Travel back in time to before everything happened and help Barbatos and the Dark Knights fight Su Ming?

If they did that, everyone would probably end up doomed—this Su Ming was far stronger than the one in their world. And needless to say, the Justice League would side with him; after all, the Flash was the one who understood time the best.

This Su Ming's combat awareness, speed, strength, and all that gear—just looking at Gideon's observation records made Sarah's heart race.

If Su Ming identified the Legends, even without anyone paying to have them killed, they wouldn't escape without being gravely injured.

So, Sarah had no intention of getting involved with Earth-0's mess. But, on the other hand, would it be too obvious if she just went back to the captain's quarters to cuddle with her partner and go back to sleep?

"Hmm... I think this crisis is quite serious. Let's go deal with it."

Sarah walked up to the large screen, pushed Gideon's head aside, and brought up a star map of various timelines in the multiverse, selecting a planet.

The crew leaned in to look at the screen. It turned out to be a Jurassic dinosaur that had laid an egg, but the egg had been encased in amber and hadn't hatched.

This would lead to dinosaurs being resurrected on Earth in the year 2100 due to scientists' research.

To be honest, there weren't any particularly serious consequences—just an extra Jurassic Park—but since this event wasn't supposed to happen, it was considered a temporal error.

The crew watched the Earth rotate on the screen, noting that the threat level indicator beside it showed a green "1" with a question mark, indicating that even Gideon wasn't sure if it counted as a threat.

But with the Captain practically spelling it out, and no one wanting to face off against Su Ming and the Justice League, they naturally went along with her suggestion.

"Good, this is a serious issue. We must correct it properly," said the muscle-bound man, pulling out his flamethrower and wondering which dinosaur might taste the best.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to go back to the Jurassic era to see the dinosaurs. That T-Rex that tried to eat me was so adorable," Atom added with a slightly forced smile.

"Yes, I originally lived in 2210. The pollution was so bad, I've always wanted to breathe the fresh air of ancient times," the young woman said as she touched her face, as if air pollution had affected her skin. She didn't realize that ancient air might not be suitable for humans.

But the crew quickly reached a consensus, unanimously praising the Captain's wisdom.

Sarah nodded with a smile. Maintaining the normal order of the timeline was such a tough job.

She walked to the control console at the front of the ship, and the crew followed, strapping themselves into their seats to avoid collisions during time travel.

Of course, she didn't forget to notify the historian and her partner in bed to secure themselves as well. After completing these preparations, she sat up straight in the captain's chair.

"Waverider, set course!"

Sarah pushed the control lever all the way forward. After the engine powered up, the Waverider instantly disappeared into the green temporal corridor.

Just as with the Council of Immortals and the Legends of Tomorrow, many beings, some not even human, noticed the changes to Prime Earth. However, for various reasons, most chose to ignore it.

Some noticed the timeline's changes; others sensed the Source Wall's fracture. But when they realized the future was now completely obscured by mist, they hesitated, unsure of what to do.

As Earth emitted a strong white light, Su Ming and the Batman Who Laughs, who were busy competing in musical knowledge in the Batcave, naturally noticed it too.

The Brother Eye, which had been monitoring Challenger's Mountain, now displayed a bright screen, illuminating the entire cave.

Su Ming could also feel an influx of positive thoughts in his mind—ideas about self-sacrifice, heroism, and other virtuous ideals. He knew these were the thoughts of the heroes, transmitted to him through the resonance of the X-Metal.

But what good were these heroic ideals to him? He was a mercenary who made a living through work, and these ideals had nothing to do with his line of work.

He shook his head, clearing these thoughts from his mind, and quietly watched the Batman Who Laughs in front of him.

If the Batman Who Laughs hadn't noticed such a significant event, it would be outright lying—his Robins were already scratching at the walls.

This silver energy resonance was like poison to all dark entities. Those with dark energy felt extreme discomfort in this wave.

It could be called suffocation or poisoning, but in any case, they could feel the entire world rejecting them.

Sure enough, the Batman Who Laughs, who had been rapping, also stopped, his smile growing wider. He put down the invisible air microphone in his hand and quietly looked at Su Ming.

The two of them, each with their own hidden agenda, could no longer keep up the act.
