Chapter 144: Ch.143 Right Gamble

In the next instant, Su Ming was enveloped in blue light, streaking through the vastness of space. During this bizarre journey, he vaguely noticed four enormous figures brushing past him.

"Uh, that must be the Omega Titans."

These were ancient colossal gods introduced during the Justice No More event following Metal. They represented Entropy, Mystery, Wonder, and Wisdom, and were constantly consuming planets throughout the universe in search of energy.

Su Ming speculated that they might have been released from the Source Wall, as he had never heard of them before, although these concepts were inherent to the DC universe.

His understanding of the Titans was limited, as the comics provided only scant information. His initial reaction was that DC had just created four "Galactus" types, all headed towards Earth.

These beings wielded immense power, each representing a fundamental force of the universe, elevated to the level of cosmic principles.

But even if Su Ming wanted to get involved in that, it wasn't possible for now. Because when he finished mulling over the Omega Titans, he found himself already outside the Source Wall, far behind him. He was now within the swirling gray fog of the Sea of Origin.

Doctor Manhattan was truly a straightforward person. He had sent Su Ming away without even a second of delay, no wonder he had been isolated to the depths of the universe by the editors.

Su Ming began to reconsider whether it was worth settling scores with him. Although he wanted to seek justice for the original Slade, now it felt like holding a grudge against a vending machine.

However, this wasn't the time to dwell on that. Su Ming decided to stick to his plan. If his guess was correct, it wouldn't be long before he would see other worlds.

The special blue energy enveloping him allowed him to continue flying and breathing in this strange environment, but it was unclear how long this thin layer of blue light would last.

The gray origin matter had no texture or temperature; it was like headless thoughts, perhaps existing in everyone's mind.

They churned constantly, like ocean waves or boiling lava, with a dark gray color, but it always felt like something tangible was hidden within.

Indescribable, indescribable—it was here, but beyond description.

There was no concept of time or space here, and Su Ming had no idea how long he had been flying through it. But eventually, the gray substance receded.

What he saw before him made him breathe a sigh of relief. His guess had been correct. Outside of DC, there were indeed other universes.

In the pitch-black space, glowing points of light floated like giant, colorful soap bubbles. He remembered seeing a similar scene in the Doctor Strange movie—so this was the multiverse?

World after world flew past Su Ming. He couldn't turn around, but he could slightly adjust his direction. Doctor Manhattan's energy acted as both protection and propulsion, keeping him alive and preventing him from returning.

But that was fine; Su Ming had already obtained DC's most valuable X-metal. It was time to explore other realms.

He darted through space like a blue arrow, skimming the edges of these worlds to listen to the sounds within. It felt a bit like picking watermelons at a market—he didn't even need to knock on them to hear what was inside.

For instance, the slightly darkened "soap bubble" he was approaching. Su Ming slowed down a bit, flying close to the world's edge, and could hear someone shouting inside.

"By the power of Grayskull! I have the power!"

Alright, that used to be the property of FA, later acquired by DC. This universe was known as the He-Man universe.

The universe of He-Man, his sister She-Ra, and their arch-nemesis Skeletor was actually quite high-level, with all of them being super-strong cosmic entities who could traverse the universe in physical form.

If Batman had the chance to ask He-Man the old question, He-Man's answer would definitely differ from Superman's.

He-Man: "No, I really don't bleed."

It's not that he's stronger than Superman—He-Man was originally a children's story, where no matter the character, they couldn't bleed.

And the whole transformation via lightning thing? It had to be some kind of bloodline or magic. While powerful, it wasn't something Su Ming was interested in.

He skirted around this world and continued to move forward.

Moving forward wasn't quite accurate; this space had no concept of direction. Things just passed by in front of him, with no point of reference to determine whether he or the worlds were moving.

Next, he approached a world emitting green light, but before Su Ming could prepare, he heard familiar background music and even smelled the scent of canned spinach.

He turned away immediately. There was nothing worthwhile in that world.

World after world passed by, and he heard countless jumbled voices, but none of them were his target.

"The ponies are all off to find their cutie marks."

"Nemo, watch out for the big shark!"

"Patrick, do you want to blow some bubbles? It's only 25 cents."

"Mud stomping is so much fun."

"Pikachu, I choose you!"

"Watch Blue Cat, learn from Blue Cat. I have style, I have pride!"

Su Ming's expression shifted. Was he heading in the wrong direction? Why did it feel like he was moving farther from the Western comics zone?

He glanced back, but there was no trace of the path he had taken. In this space devoid of spatial perception, there was no way to determine direction.

"Sigh, at least I know what I'm looking for. It'll just take a bit more time."

Who knew how long had passed or how many worlds he had flown by, but Su Ming finally perked up. He knew he was getting close to his target.

He finally spotted a massive cluster not far above him.

It looked like a snow globe, with countless smaller bubbles encased within a larger shell.

Such a complex multiverse system often represented countless Earths and timelines. Among the known entities, there were only a few such systems.

The key distinguishing factor was that next to it, there was another enormous and bright multiverse. The two world systems formed a binary star-like system, and on the outer wall of the other multiverse, a faint silhouette of Mickey Mouse's head was visible.

"The Disney Universe, huh..."

Su Ming glanced at it briefly. He had no interest in fairy tale princesses, so he circled around and sped toward the Marvel Multiverse.

He had always thought Marvel was right next to DC—he hadn't expected it to take this much effort.

The closer he got, the more he realized the sheer scale of this multiverse system. It was hard to tell if it was growing larger or if he was shrinking.

He didn't think too much about it and slammed into the transparent outer wall.

It was a thick wall, not as solid as DC's Source Wall, but the pain and difficulty of passing through it made Su Ming grit his teeth.

His armor heated up, and his wounds began to reopen. It felt as if he were being thrown into a pressure cooker, and that was with Doctor Manhattan's energy protecting him.

Who knew how long it took, but he eventually succeeded in entering the multiverse.

The blue light surrounding him dimmed—it had been used up to breach the world barrier. Now he was inside the Marvel Multiverse, but he still needed to enter a specific world.

For instance, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Earth-199999, where the power levels weren't too high, but there were plenty of valuable items.

But the energy around him was flickering, and he didn't have much time left. These worlds didn't have any number labels he could check.

The Marvel system contained many worlds, including Star Wars and Terminator since their licenses were owned by Marvel. No doubt, the tens of thousands of small bubbles around him contained those worlds.

DC and Marvel's multiverse designs differed. Inside DC's Source Wall, you would only find superhero worlds, while Marvel's multiverse also included other genres of works.

For instance, at that moment, he heard a familiar phrase from within a world resembling a glass marble.

"Agents J and K, this mission is up to you."

That was the Men in Black world. There were good things there, but what Su Ming needed now was a Marvel superhero world.

He pushed on, flying deeper into the multiverse. Maybe the closer he got to the system's core, the more complete and significant the worlds would be.

But the protective energy seemed ready to disappear at any moment. If he lost that protection in this uninhabited depth of space, he might end up like Yondu, frozen like a popsicle.

He could only do his best to choose a world with six glowing points. That had to be the Infinity Stones, so he plunged into it.

The world before him rapidly expanded. After passing through the small world barrier, he was flying through space. The blue light around him began to flicker on and off. He tried using the gems Doctor Manhattan had given him to recharge, but those stones were unresponsive—they clearly weren't meant for that.

A sudden, unknown gravitational force enveloped him, pulling him in a specific direction.

He could only watch as this mysterious energy guided him, hurtling past stars, nebulae, and black holes, until finally, he arrived at the Milky Way. Then, the Solar System. Finally, a familiar planet came into view.
