Chapter 293: Ch.292 Arrival

With the plan settled, most of the discussion came from Su Ming while the others listened. Yet, everyone agreed to the strategy. The team bid farewell to the Parisian resistance fighters, their eyes filled with reluctance. Su Ming could only sigh. He couldn't do much more for them—he had his own mission to complete.

So, he led them in singing "The Internationale" once before slipping into the sewers. They exited Paris smoothly through a drainage pipe.

After that, things became relatively simple. Anything Su Ming needed could be obtained by just giving an order.

With Domino in the group, getting whatever they wanted was easy. If something existed in this era, she could find it just by wandering around.

"Domino, get us a truck—preferably a German model."

In less than ten minutes, Domino came back with a gray truck, a complete set of driver's documents, and over a dozen sets of German uniforms.

She found them by chance—a group of German soldiers had gone for a midnight swim in the moat, leaving their clothes on the shore and their truck keys in the ignition. Domino had no trouble bringing everything back.

The others donned German uniforms, while Su Ming used Stranglehold to disguise himself as a HYDRA officer. His fluent German allowed them to move through occupied zones without issue.

Whenever they encountered a checkpoint, he'd step out and slap a guard, shouting, "Hail HYDRA!"

And then they'd be allowed to pass.

After doing this over a dozen times, they reached Marseille in the south of France. With its four major ports, crossing the Mediterranean by ship to Egypt was safer than flying—planes were too easily detected by radar.

With so many people, the only ones capable of flying were Su Ming and Cable, and Rogue was still too inexperienced in using stolen powers.

To avoid being shot down by German UFOs and fed to the fish...

"Domino, get us a ship—something spacious, with beds, food, and a powerful engine."

In under ten minutes, Domino returned with a boat.

She found a group of drunken German officers having a secret party on a yacht at the dock. Since their leader frowned upon drinking, their party was conducted like a secret heist, with no guards around.

Domino threw the staggering drunks into the sea, easily securing the vessel and calling everyone over.

The group boarded the ship, finding everything onboard to be new—clean sheets, plenty of rooms, and supplies of food and drink.

Su Ming watched as Deadpool, still resembling a blob of flesh, was dragged into a room by three women, for reasons unknown.

By all logic, he was still a heap of mangled flesh and shouldn't have been able to do much.

The journey would take some time—sea travel was never the fastest means of transportation.

But the vast sea meant safety, and halfway through, they switched the German flag for a star-spangled one, sailing openly into Alexandria's port.

The city was still under British control, though due to this altered universe, the British forces in Africa were having a much harder time than in normal history. The city was covered in a shroud of gloom.

Su Ming used Stranglehold to take on the appearance of Captain America once more.

It was the best identity—no one questioned it, no matter how many odd companions he had with him.

Everyone greeted him with smiles because he was a star.

The British adored the products he endorsed—instant noodles, stews, drinks, stockings... The Scottish regiment, which used to wear skirts and short socks, found that stockings worked just as well.

Su Ming led the group through the docks, attracting some attention due to the high proportion of women in their team, and because the X-Men's uniforms were a bit too tight.

But with Captain America at the front, it wasn't unusual for him to be surrounded by women.

"Beautiful day, huh?" Cable muttered, holding his half-metallic face, feeling uncomfortable under all the attention.

"Smile, try waving to these people, my friend. Always wearing a serious expression isn't good for sneaking around."

Stranglehold kept the 'Captain America' smile flawless, though Su Ming's voice, filtered through the helmet, sounded more demonic than heroic.

With Domino's powers of luck, they soon secured a vehicle and reached Cairo that same night. The city remained under British control, though many of the traditional local elites were secretly collaborating with the Germans.

But that had nothing to do with Su Ming—his goal now was to dig up someone from the desert.

Neither the comics nor the movies ever provided precise coordinates for Apocalypse's burial site, only that it was not far from Cairo.

So, the group found themselves lighting a fire among the sand dunes in the middle of the night, grilling food as they mapped out their plan.

"Now, it's up to you, Cable. Can your telepathic abilities sense mutants?"

Su Ming stirred coffee beans he'd bought from the city as he asked Cable. The firelight cast a reddish glow on their faces, and the desert night was cold beneath the massive moon.

"My abilities? If you hadn't reminded me, I'd almost forgotten I had them." Cable chuckled, trimming a cigar with a knife.

"Looks like we'll have to use other means..." Su Ming glanced down at the darkened pot, noting the stubborn coffee beans inside. "Domino, what do you think? Which direction feels right to you?"

At that moment, Domino was wrestling with the two other women for the right to use Deadpool as a cushion. He'd begun regrowing bones, and if they didn't take advantage of this time, they might not get another chance.

Hearing Su Ming's question, she casually pointed in a direction while shoving Vanessa aside, then returned to her struggle.

Su Ming nodded. They now had a direction. He removed the pot from the fire. "Alright, who wants coffee? It may look like tar, but I'm sure it's drinkable."

With their lucky charm in tow, it didn't take long to find their target. Before dawn, Su Ming discovered a peculiar, four-sided metallic pyramid protruding from the sand in the direction they'd chosen.

It was the top of a pyramid, made from some golden metal, inscribed with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and intricate patterns.

This was the tomb of Apocalypse, buried for centuries beneath the sands.

Sand and dust—they both measured time.

Of course, it wasn't all good news. There was some bad news, too.

"Cousin? Did you find something? Let me see, let me see!"

Deadpool slithered like a red and black snake across the sand, coming to rest by Su Ming's feet, peering at the exposed tip of the pyramid.

"You know, Wade, you sound like a court eunuch right now," Su Ming muttered, covering his face. Here he went again—his red-and-black nightmare.

Wade didn't mind. He'd only regrown his upper arms and part of his spine, which he used to slither along the ground.

"Really? Do you want me to sing for you? But I only know pop songs—I never listen to operas. They just don't compare to the sound of bullets whizzing by, right? But I always carry a band with me..."

Su Ming kicked at the exposed pyramid tip. The bluish-green gem embedded within it reflected a chilling, eerie light.

"Shut up, Wade."
