Chapter 340: Ch.339 Mysterious Escape Method

Red blood sprayed from both sides, but along with the blood came Su Ming's cheerful laughter and Grodd's screams.

He never expected Deathstroke to have such an attack.

Even though he was a gorilla, with thick skin and tough flesh, the sharpness of X-metal could not be blocked by mere flesh.

"What is this?"

Not only was Grodd stunned, but even the Turtle was turned into a pincushion. Unlike a real infant, Su Ming showed no hesitation in his actions.

At this moment, the gorilla widened his eyes in despair as he stared at Deathstroke. The members of the Justice League had completely broken free from the effects of the Stasis Force and were slowly closing in.

"...Take your questions with you to hell."

Su Ming swiftly drew the Duskblade and swung it towards the gorilla's head. However, Grodd showed a strange smile, as a bizarre purple light enveloped him, and then he abruptly vanished from under Su Ming's blade.

Su Ming frowned and immediately turned to chase after Cheetah and Black Manta, only to see them taking a vial of black-glowing liquid from a golden container, before they too disappeared in a flash of light, just like the gorilla.

"..."

Su Ming looked down at his armor full of holes and slowly exhaled through his nostrils.

This was the first time an enemy had managed to escape from him. Even last time, with the Dawn Reaver, he still managed to leave half the body behind.

But now that it had come to this, there was no point dwelling on it. At least they gained some information: besides Grodd and his two allies, there was at least one other person supporting them.

Moreover, Su Ming had never seen this method of teleportation before.

He returned to Diana and the others. There was nothing of value left in the underground structure except for the writhing white creatures on the ground.

Barry still looked despondent. Only now did he understand the pressure Batman had endured during the last Metal Event.

Although they hadn't yet seen what danger the Stasis Force had brought into their universe, the feeling of being the 'cause' of it all weighed heavily on Barry's heart.

He couldn't help but think of the Flashpoint Paradox.

"Get up, Barry, look at me." Su Ming sheathed his weapon and grabbed Barry's shoulder, trying to motivate him: "It's not too late yet. You are the fastest man alive. We still have time."

Barry shook his head at Su Ming's words: "The Stasis Force has already entered our multiverse, and the Turtle is dead. Until he resurrects again, no one knows how to control the Stasis Force."

Su Ming slapped Barry on the head and rolled his eyes: "If the Speed Force opened a door to let something bad into our universe, does that mean the door can only be locked from the inside? What about your Speed Force? Can it only push the door open, but not pull it closed?"

The previously tense atmosphere eased up as Barry rubbed his head, embarrassed, and both Diana and Aquaman laughed.

"Deathstroke is right. Since the Stasis Force came through the door, you can use the Speed Force to close it." Aquaman said, touching his wet hair.

Barry rubbed his head, smiling awkwardly.

It was indeed true. Last time, a quarter of the Earth was covered in the Bloodlands, but they managed to pull it back and close the door.

This time, they could do it too.

"But... I'm not sure how to do it." After laughing with his friends, Barry expressed his doubts.

Su Ming signaled for everyone to return the way they had come: "Regardless of how, we need to head back to the Hall of Justice first. Only after gathering comprehensive information can we make a decision."

"Alright, let's move." Diana agreed immediately, feeling uneasy as J'onn's mental link had been disconnected for a while.

The group returned to the dock where they had arrived, and Diana's invisible jet was still parked somewhere nearby.

Somehow, Diana knew exactly where it was and climbed into the cockpit. In the pitch-black darkness, finding a transparent object seemed to require some special skills.

The invisible jet wasn't like a car, with a remote that could flash the lights when pressed.

Su Ming also boarded the plane with Barry. He needed to think things over.

Why had the enemies introduced the Stasis Force into the universe? What did Cheetah take from here?

Hera did indeed tell him something about Transcendence and Destruction.

The Justice League was simply standing on the side of Transcendence, meaning their opponents were likely in favor of Destruction.

But what benefit could come from Destruction? Stopping the evolution of the universe, or perhaps restarting it again?

Who stood to gain from that?

Su Ming's first thought was of the Speed Force users since the Speed Force dimension could retain many 'nonexistent' histories. If the world were to reset, the Speed Force users with memories from the 'previous world' might very well benefit.

Besides them, there were also other beings who might gain something, like the Lord of Dreams.

In any case, there was too little information now. They needed to return to the Hall of Justice for further investigation.

Furthermore, Barry would need to figure out how to deal with the Stasis Force problem soon, meaning it would be harder for him to go into battle with Su Ming for now.

Earlier, Superman and Martian Manhunter's team, along with Batman and Hawkgirl piloting a ship in their minds, also encountered trouble.

After entering the defensive barrier of the Totality, they faced attacks from numerous strange flora and fauna. Some creatures had animal-like lower bodies, but flowers growing from their upper bodies, swarming towards them like a tide.

However, with Martian Manhunter and Superman's strength, these creatures didn't hold them back for long, but the mutated cells within the creatures began invading their bodies, moving towards their brains.

Thus, the two pilots were busy fending them off. To Batman's eyes, these mutated cells looked the size of houses, and they had to use the ship's weapons to destroy them all.

Hawkgirl even had to resort to using a white dwarf star pulse—a burst from the ship's overloaded energy source, causing an explosion of intense radiation.

The blast not only wiped out the invading cells but also killed many of J'onn's brain cells. If not for the Martian's incredible healing abilities, he could have ended up in a vegetative state.

From inside Superman's head, Batman continued issuing orders, urging them to find the Totality's real location quickly. He had hacked into Clark's optic nerve network, allowing him to see everything outside.

They might as well have been on an alien planet.

Red soil, all kinds of bizarre plants and animals, a sky filled with different stars, and the ground erupting with blue energy like geysers.

"There it is—it looks like the Source Wall."

Clark's eyes narrowed as he spotted a black line along the horizon. It looked like a chunk cut from the Source Wall, with countless enormous and mysterious statues standing on the ground, like a dam.

"They're protecting something," Batman replied grimly, urging them to move faster.
