Chapter 36 Forging?
Chapter 36 Forging?
Forging?
Christopher looked at the golden card in his hand as he sat on a comfortable looking chair situated on top of a hill within his dimension.
Below, the group could be seen sparring with each other.
Since there were six of them the group was split Into two teams. Thanatos, Silver, and Umbra against Belladonna, Kim, and Chiara. Conveniently, it was boys against girls.
Christopher shifted his attention between the fight and the card in his hands and recalled how he had gotten it.
When he entered the Adventurers Guild the last time, he was approached by someone who worked for the Firmum Family and gave him the card.
"An Auction huh?" He mumbled as his mind raced. According to the person, this Auction was one of the biggest Auctions going on in the entire world simply because of the fact that those attending were some of the most powerful beings within, well, the world. And the items being sold were things that could quite literally cause wars to get.
"Hm. I'm probably gonna see beings from the other main races like dragons and the like. Interesting." Christopher mumbled and glanced at his subordinates that were going at it.
Silver and Kim were matching each other while the twins were fighting themselves and Thanatos was going up against Belladonna.
"Hm, speaking of items being sold, I really should get these guys weapons." Christopher realised.
Kim and Silver seemed to have a similar combat style in which they used their claws a lot, though Silver was more strength based whereas Kim was more agile.
The twins pretty much acted like your generic mages. Staying at the back and spamming overpowered magical attacks until their enemy fell. Thanatos was the same, though he also had the assistance of his Undead and summons while Belladonna was reminiscent of a battle mage. She usually got in close and created blades of ice and blood while also using her fire as support.
With that thought, Christopher made his decision. He teleported into the Grand Library again and entered one of its separate spaces, the same one he had used before. Then with a thought, a book appeared on the table.
The title read. The Arcane Forge: Mastery of Legendary Craftsmanship.
"Seems legit." Christopher mumbled and opened it up.
Just like when he was reading the book on runes, when he read this book, the knowledge was directly transmitted into his brain as well as the understanding, meaning he didn't need to spend time reading it multiple times to understand what it was that he was reading.
As he read, he gradually became more interested. Like before, it started with basic knowledge and gradually grew into more advanced stuff, and from what Christopher could tell, forcing and creating items was a completely different ball game from using and manipulating runes. And the more he read, the more impressed he became. His respect for item creators also grew.
Finally, after almost an entire day within his dimension, he completed the book and closed it.
He leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes with a sigh as he silently digested the information. There was quite a lot to unpack.
After a while, he reopened his eyes and teleported into a different part of the city in front of a magnificent golden building which was called the Grand Forge.
Christopher strolled inside and, obviously it was empty. But before he proceeded further, he paused.
"Oof, I need materials." Then used his Dimensional management and extracted many of the enhanced ores from the surroundings.
When he entered the forge, the familiar calming effect descended on him and his thoughts became clearer. He then went deep inside and the place was pretty incredible.
The whole place was made of that same exquisite material that made up the rest of the city and he could see multiple forging rooms that were completely decked out with a golden furnace, anvil, inscribing table for putting runes on the items, and so on.
Christopher picked a random room and went in before sitting at a table which had items meant for creating blueprints.
Christopher called upon his new knowledge and began to draft out blueprints for the items he planned to give his subordinates. Weapons and armor for each of them.
When he finished creating the blueprints which took around an hour, he then moved to the furnace and considered how he was gonna light it. But the moment he thought about it, bright white flames erupted within it and began to warm up the room immediately.
Christopher grinned and decided to make Silver's weapons first. He tossed one of the ones inside the furnace and watched them melt.

Evening arrived
"Master, you're back!" Titus smiled when he saw Christopher enter the training room again. As time passed, his appearance had changed a little bit.
His muscles had become a lot more pronounced and he had a stable Aura about him. Moreover, he was moving with relative ease despite having the weights on, showing that he had adapted to them mostly.
Christopher smiled when he saw this.
"You've progressed a lot since we started." He said and Titus grinned.
"Mhm! I broke through as well, so I'm much stronger." The boy said proudly and Christopher nodded.
"Alright, it seems like you've adapted to your weights." He said and Titus nodded.
"Yup, I can barely feel them anymore." He admitted before asking curiously.
"So does that mean I'm gonna take them off?" He asked and Christopher chuckled.
"Something like that." As he said that, Titus felt the weights suddenly come off and he smiled, however, before he could enjoy his liberation, a sudden weight descended on him and his eyes widened as his body hunched over and he struggled to stay upright.
"Ugh!" He gritted his teeth and struggled to look up at Christopher who was smiling at him.
"Now, your weight training will become more intense." He said and Titus felt his heart sink. Christopher had linked a gravity rune to him and so the gravity around him was a lot higher then before and as such, moving had become even harder than when he had originally gotten his weights.
"Now get your sword out. We're gonna spar." Christopher said and Titus felt like crying. This was too much!

"The Elf Queen was there huh?" The Eminence spoke thoughtfully as the cloaked figure who acted as his secretary finished speaking.
"It seems like everytime he appears, he reveals more and more interesting things." The Eminence muttered before asking.
"What of his whereabouts? Have you been able to find anyone considered close to him?" They asked and the Secretary shook his head.
"No, we see him enter the royal Palace every night, but we can't enter to see what's going on. Besides that his whereabouts are unknown. Though we know that his other persona, the Dreamer, periodically completed difficult missions. However he knows we're watching him, so he casts a sort of perception blocking field whenever we try to spy on him. And when he finishes, the area inside the field is completely gone." The Secretary explained.
(A/N: For those wondering how these guys know Christopher is the Dreamer. When he got jumped by the guys that summoned Belladonna, they had been tailing him since and saw him remove his mask before they put him in the isolated space.)
"Hm. Interesting." The Eminence thought for a while before saying.
"For now, redirect your focus elsewhere. The Auction is happening soon, we need to make sure everything goes according to plan. So we'll leave the matter of this Christopher for now." Hearing this, the cloaked figure nodded without hesitation.
"Yes, Eminence." Then he left the room.

"Mother, do you think he will be attending the Auction?" Back within the Elven Kingdom, Aisha could be seen with her head laid down on her mother's lap. The Queen gently stroked her hair and thought for a bit before answering.
"It's quite likely. If the other humans didn't try and kill him for his actions then recruiting him is the next best option. But from what I can tell, he's someone who values his freedom greatly. So he most likely rejected all their advances. The Auction will be a good way to try and buy him over." She explained and Aisha hummed.
"Why don't you try and recruit him in that case?" She asked and her mother chuckled faintly, a soul lifting sound.
"I considered it, but that boy is very stubborn. He has his eyes straight on whatever it is he's trying to achieve, and if recruiting him doesn't bring him closer to attaining that goal, then he will refuse without hesitation." Aisha glanced up at her mother at her explanation.
"How can you be so sure?" She asked and the Queen had a bit of a reminiscent look in her eyes.
"Because even behind his mask, I can recognise that gaze anywhere." She smiled and looked at her daughter.
"That boy, is hopelessly heart sick." Hearing this, Aisha's eyes widened.
"You're saying he's doing all of this for a girl?" She asked and the Queen nodded.
"Mhm."
