Chapter 87 - Going South
Chapter 87: Going South
“You’re going south?” Mike asked as he looked at Dali in surprise.
Dali smiled and continued.
“That’s right, we’re going south!”
“Why are you going south? Is your base camp in the south?”
“That’s right!”
Linda tugged on Mike’s clothes and said to him, “Mike, do you want to go with us?”
Upon hearing that, Mike smiled and said to Linda. “Of course!”
After saying that, Mike looked at Dali and said, “Can I go south with you guys? Perhaps I can help to protect you guys along the way!”
Naturally, when he heard Mike’s words, Dali was happy.
He quickly said, “Of course! I believe that with you joining us, our return trip will be safer! Hahaha!”
A return trip? That said, Mike did not even know the reason they were going to the south.
Thinking of this, Mike asked, “Oh, right! May I ask why you are going to the South?”
Dali smiled at Mike.
Then he said, “We are going to the base camp of the Lieluo Army!”
“The Lieluo Army?”
Mike asked again.
“That’s right! The Lieluo Army is the most powerful force to resist the rule of The Empire! Only by going to the south can we truly ensure our safety!”
Upon hearing Dali’s words, Mike finally understood the current situation.
Then, he said, “That’s good. I’ll go down south this time and go to the base camp of the Lieluo Legion!”
Hearing this, Mike suddenly thought of something and said to Dali, “By the way, I haven’t asked for your name yet!”
Dali laughed and said.
“My Name Is Dali, I’m the leader of the Second Legion of the Lieluo Army!”
After hearing that, Mike continued to say.
“My name is Mike, and this is Linda! She is my sister!”
Hearing Mike’s introduction, Dali also smiled happily.
As he was speaking, Mike thought of something else.
He asked, “Oh right, Dali, how are we going to head south?”
Hearing Mike’s question, Linda, who was beside him, also echoed, “Big Brother Dali, hasn’t the road ahead been completely blocked by the people of The Empire? How are we going to head south?”
Dali smiled and said.
“It’s actually not that difficult. What separates the northern plains from the southern plains is the huge Kaki Snow Mountain and a raging river. As long as we manage to pass through the Kaki Snow Mountain and cross the river, we’ll be able to reach the town of Doma in the south.”
“The base camp of our army, Xinluo City, is not far from Doma town.”
When he heard that, Mike said excitedly. “Then, what are we waiting for? Let’s set off now!”
At the same time, another thought came into his mind.
‘Could it be that sending all these people to the south will complete the mission? Then, what are we waiting for? Let’s set off now!’
However, before Mike’s enthusiasm dissipated, Dali shook his head with a smile and said.
“No, now is not the time. We need to do a headcount before we can set off!”
When he heard that, Mike continued by asking, “How many people did you bring on this trip?”
Dali smiled and made a two-finger gesture.
“Two thousand people?” Mike asked.
Dali shook his head and said, “Too many!”
“Two hundred people?”
Dali still shook his head.
“You only brought twenty people?” Mike asked in surprise.
Could a 20-man army defeat so many imperial soldiers? Were the soldiers of the Lieluo Legion that strong, or were the imperial soldiers too weak?
Mike looked at Dali in disbelief and smiled helplessly.
Dali finally opened his mouth and said.
“That’s right. We only brought twenty soldiers from the Lieluo Army. Don’t underestimate this 20-man army. They are all elites in the army.”
“First, we need to count the 20-man team. Then, we need to gather the people who want to go to the Lieluo Army. After counting them, then we will set off together!”
Hearing that, Mike secretly sighed at the powerful strength of the Lieluo Army.
With just a 20-man team, the 8,000-man Imperial Army that had been stationed at the Blessed Longevity Camp had been annihilated.
After a while, a few soldiers dressed in civilian clothes and covered in blood rushed towards Dali.
“Commander! We have eliminated all the imperial soldiers in the camp!”
“Very good! Now, quickly go and count the number of our people! We are ready to evacuate!”
“Yes, sir!”
After a simple exchange, the soldiers quickly rushed into the crowd again.
“Those who want to go with us to the Lieluo Army, come and report to me!”
The soldiers stood on a large wooden box and shouted loudly.
Very quickly, the many prisoners who had been detained earlier had now gathered here.
Mike saw the hope shining on their faces. Each and every one of them was lined up in an orderly manner as they counted out the numbers in front of the soldiers.
Within a short time, all the numbers and information had been completely counted.
One of the soldiers held a roster in his hand and stood before Dali again. He handed the roster to Dali and said.
“Reporting to the Regiment Commander. There were no casualties among the Lieluo Army during this battle. All twenty people survived!
“The statistics also show that there are 1,342 civilians who will go with us to the Lieluo Army!
“Please give us instructions for the next step!”
“Good! Very good!” Dali happily said.
“We will pack up now and prepare to evacuate. We will then head south!”
“Yes, sir!”
…
Mike followed Dali’s Lieluo Army and the civilians as they marched towards the snow mountain in the south.
They passed through a dark alley in the Blessed Longevity Camp and came to an empty grassland.
In front of the grassland, there was a deep gully and barbed wire which extended along both ends.
Dali skillfully commanded some of his soldiers to take out their machetes and break the barbed wire.
The rest of the soldiers took out their shovels and filled up the gully.
After a while, a wide road leading to the south started to appear in front of everyone.
Mike sighed at the efficiency of these soldiers.
It was then that Dali opened his mouth and spoke to everyone.
“The road leading to the Kaki Snow Mountain is up ahead. The Kaki Snow Mountain is winding and continuous. If anyone wants to leave, they can leave now!”
After saying that, he looked at the vast and mighty team. There was only complete silence.
Seeing this, Dali smiled and said.
“Good! Let’s go!”
