Chapter 217: Truth about the realms

The painting above revealed countless god veins in space with each and every one of them possessing a being with a shadowy figure looking over it! There were more paintings of those shadowy figures removing a god vein and putting in new ones. Even though their face could not be seen, the look in their eyes was that of amusement! While many would believe that those beings are the gods of the world, Derik knew it wasn't. a god's power is limited! Even a realm protector cannot destroy a god vein! That's why Blake was trying to swallow the god vein, Derik knew he would die no matter how badass his devour power is! 

Those beings in the picture are the celestial beings far beyond their level, putting in new god veins and destroying the old ones. This reminded him the time of his god vein has passed and soon the celestial beings will seek to remove it just like they did to the world of the old gods when he was little.

Cyrus, Elsa, Blink, Clovis, and everyone is still there! He promised to create the perfect world there and he had done it! There was no way he would let someone kill off any being swoop in and crush them as if they are just ants!josei

"What is mine will not be taken away… Never again!" Derik hissed as his aura slowly died down and his temper turned calm.

Lucien just stood there and watched in silence! Just like Derik suspected, Lucien felt those beings are the gods but in truth, they are the celestial beings. He didn't know why Derik suddenly flared up but he knew everyone has his scar and deepest pains to deal with. For every reason, there is a reason and for someone to become the god of death and destruction in his world, killing all the gods and coming for their world, he knew Derik had a reason. He also knew Derik had a reason for seeking Rakuzen's power and he also knew there is a reason Derik gave up on killing him for now. Maybe he made a deal with Rakuzen while he was unconscious or he just had a change of heart, Lucien didn't mind. There are many things he didn't know now but he wasn't bothered since he assumed Rakuzen was keeping it away from him for his own good.

"No one else could get in… The girls are stuck outside! Don't you find that strange about a dungeon?" Lucien said and Derik looked behind him and yawned.

"This is no dungeon… This may as well be considered the core of the god vein… For a god vein this advanced, the core decides who goes in and who stays out! Those two have no business here since they will not be a part of the struggle about to take place!" Derik explained briefly and walked towards the exit of the room and Derik chased after him!

At the exit of the massive crystal, the room was crystal stairs leading to deeper parts of the core. These crystals let out bright rainbow-like colors, illuminating the darkroom and on the walls were pictures and images of the celestial beings and their goals.

The celestial beings, knowingly create inferior god veins and slowly upgrade them with time! These god veins lead to more powerful gods, slowly making the old gods who do not invade fade away in time and die off. This sequence of activities aims to bring out the strongest in the realm and add them to their forces!

As Derik explained while going down, Lucien couldn't help but tremble each time he was told more about the world he lived in. Even if he reaches the god realm, he will end up dying at the hands of celestial beings who see him as a plaything?

Seeing this Lucien frowned and tried hard to understand what was going on. He remembered Rakuzen's story, about how he reached the celestial realm by consuming everything with his beast assimilation ability, quickly reaching the ranks of the peak beings. Once he reached the celestial realm, he was at first ignored but when he proved to be stronger than even the most powerful celestial beings due to the nature of his power and authority, they joined hands just to kill him!

That story remains fresh in Lucien's mind and today he understood why something like that happened. They are not supposed to reach the realm of the celestial and Lucien understood why now. He finally realized why Derik wanted this power and his ultimate goal!

To become the ultimate being that can protect this realm against the celestial beings. The more he knew about Derik, the harder Lucien found it to hate him. Everything so far has become a bit more clearer and he too realized the reason Derik left him alive.

"So why didn't you kill me when you had the chance?" Lucien asked Derik who was gazing at one of the paintings.

"Because there is strength in numbers... If I consumed you and had your powers and mine in this body, I would still find it a lot more difficult to win the battle we just won today" Derik said with a slight frown on his face.

The next picture he saw was that of the elves and other races invading a new continent! This continent and destroying everything within it!

On normal occasions this wouldn't mean much but based on the little knowledge Derik had of how this should play out, he is an anomaly!

This event shouldn't have happened this soon. Both continents were meant to nurture more powerful gods and prepare for the battle as the veil separating the gods of the different continents will drop and both sides will clash in a life and death battle. But Derik's appearance brought about the defeat of the gods of this continent even before the battle began. Seeing this as an opportunity to gain an easy victory, these gods from a different continent can only start the invasion with their worshippers since the veil is yet to drop.

As long as their worshipers can wipe out the human and beast-man race here, the gods of this continent will not be able to recover their power before the veil drops since there is no source through which they can get the power of faith!
