Chapter 98 98. Trust.
?
Right after the mermaid waved goodbye, a couple of other mermaids emerged and did the same to Amy.
After a while, Kevin finally stopped the bed at the center of the ocean with no sign of land in sight.
But Amy was now determined to find out how he did all this and how he brought them here.
"So, where exactly are we?" She asked, still maintaining the same smile that had been on her face for a while now.
She and Kevin were currently sitting on the bed with their legs crossed as they faced each other.
"In your room," Kevin replied but didn't change the scenery.
"What? How?!" She exclaimed in disbelief.
Kevin smiled and looked around the ocean, saying. "Everything you see around us was created right here," He tapped the side of his head.
"In your mind?" She asked with awe.
"Yep."
"Like magic?" Amy moved closer to him with genuine interest.
"Yeah, I guess so," Kevin chuckled seeing how interested she was in magic.
"But doesn't that makes you an Awakened?"
Kevin shook his head and replied. "I'm not."
"Then what are you?"
Kevin stood up and walked towards the edge of the bed. "I guess you could say I'm a bit different from everybody else."
He turned towards her and added. "Although, the choice to believe me or not is completely up to you," He said, then turned to the ocean once again, giving Amy time to allow his words to sink in.
Amy pondered long and hard on his words. She had also been wondering if Kevin was really an Awakened, because if he was, then she wouldn't be feeling the way she was right now.
She had heard that they were dangerous creatures that looked like humans, but she had never sensed any form of hostility coming from Kevin since she had met him.
In fact, all she had felt from him was the opposite. Having Kevin around always filled her with a sense of serenity and she couldn't imagine a future where he wasn't by her side.
Hence, the reason why she had boldly declared her intention to make Kevin hers.
Besides, they barely knew each other well. So, it was absolutely understandable for Kevin to be a little cautious around her if he didn't want to say what exactly he was or how he was able to do the things he could.
After witnessing what he could do with her very two eyes, especially how Sasha had been in the same room with them while Amy was partly n.a.k.e.d. Amy didn't need a reminder to know how 'different' Kevin was from everyone else.
Actually, 'Different' wasn't the right word to describe him. To Amy, Kevin was someone special to her.
He was a man she was willing to know everything about, and she wanted him to know everything about her as well. As this would mean they trusted each other enough to share their darkest secret.
With a deep sigh, Amy declared inwardly. 'I've decided.'
Her mind was made up. She was willing to wait for Kevin to completely trust her enough to tell her everything about himself.
She wasn't going to interrogate him or force him to tell her everything about himself.
"I-I believe you," Amy muttered. Now, she finally understood why Kevin asked if she trusted him.
"What?" Kevin didn't get what she said, so he turned towards her.
"I believe you," She repeated louder. "Even if you're an Awakened, my feelings towards you won't change because I know you won't hurt me."
Hearing her words, a smile crept up on his face, and Kevin turned towards the ocean, causing his back to face Amy.
"Watch this," He said, then leaped from the bed and dived into the ocean but just before his body could touch the water, his legs joined together and morphed into a huge fishtail.
Amy's eyes flew open in shock as she ran towards the edge of the bed to get a better glimpse of Kevin.
Kevin surfaced from the ocean, his hair plastered to his head due to the water. He raised his hand and waved towards her with a smile as he encouraged her. "What are you waiting for?"
Amy smiled back and leaped from the bed into the water as well.
She chose to do this, knowing that Kevin was the one who created this vast ocean she was gazing at. Besides, if he wanted to hurt her, why would he share an important secret as to how he created this place with his mind?
If he wanted her to jump, then Kevin must know something she didn't, like how she wouldn't drown in the vast ocean.
As Amy popped out of the ocean, gasping for air, Kevin appeared in front of her, urging her to relax.
Once she did, Amy felt gills appearing at the side of her neck while her skin was replaced with scales.
Both of her legs combined to form a beautiful rainbow-colored tail and her view of the ocean became clearer as well.
She noticed that she could also breathe easily.
"Are you alright? Can you breathe?" Kevin asked worriedly, placing his hands on her shoulders.
Though this was a Fabricated Reality, conjured up from his mind.
It didn't limit the chance of someone dying in this made-up world from the fear or shock of what was happening around them.
He had never experimented to see the outcome of what would happen if anyone was too terrified or shocked by what she was seeing in the Fabricated dimension, and he didn't want to test it out on Amy, since he didn't know what the repercussions of such actions would be.
Amy could see that he was genuinely worried about her, but rather than fear, Amy was genuinely astounded by her new physical transformation.
She glanced at her fingers and noticed that they were now webbed with razor-sharp claws.
If this wasn't cool, then what is?
She turned towards him and replied with a smile. "I'm fine."
She added, pointing towards her eyes. "Look, I can see you clearly and breathe easily as well."
