Chapter 201 Getting Acquainted In This World
Chapter 201 Getting Acquainted In This World
[Lancelot's POV]
"The Chosen One?" I didn't know what that meant, so I read its description.
? The Chosen One ?
? As the chosen one you excelled in both physical and magical damage and you start off with +100 BONUS in each of your stat.
? As the chosen one, you received double EXP, and instead of 100 EXP = 1 stat point, your conversion rate will be 100 EXP = 100 stat points to your HP and MP while 100 EXP = 10 stat points to your other stat.
? As the chosen one, you are immune to all status effects and have 50% resistance to curses.
? As the chosen one, you only have one class, but you are not restricted to any equipment and not restricted to class-related skills and spells.
? As the chosen one, your stamina and fatigue are always full.
? As the chosen one, you have a special set of skill and spell slots that open as your specific ATP reaches a certain number.
? As the chosen one, your relationship level with the inhabitants already starts at FRIENDS. ]
I have like ten skills and five spells available to me right now, and I didn't know if the others have the same stats and skills as me.
I looked around and found that the others were checking their menu as well. I tried hard to take in all the faces that I could, hoping that I would spot at least one who I knew.
Right now, the biggest concern was to survive. If this was a game-like fantasy medieval setting, then there were bound to be beasts and other creatures that would definitely kill us.
With numbers, there was strength and deceit. But right now, we have to form groups.
"Lance!"
I knew that voice anywhere. Nanally!
Was she transported in here too?
The feeling of seeing someone I knew in a foreign world could be both surreal and exciting. My heart skipped a beat as I laid eyes on my sweet girlfriend, Nanally, standing in front of me in this world.
At first, I couldn't believe my eyes, wondering if I was only hallucinating or dreaming. But as I looked closer, I realized that it was, in fact, Nanally standing in front of me, smiling in a white cleric robe that matched the magical surroundings.
Mixed emotions of joy, surprise, and confusion overwhelmed me. I felt a rush of excitement to explore this new world with my beloved Nanally by my side, but at the same time, I was also filled with a sense of apprehension and worried about how we would survive in this foreign environment.
The feeling of seeing someone you know in a alien world was a curious mix of familiarity and strangeness, like encountering an old friend in a completely unexpected setting.
My mind raced with questions: how did Nanally get here? Was she brought here by that strange light as well? What dangers lay ahead, and how could we navigate through this together?
Despite the uncertainties, I was determined to protect Nanally and explore this new world with her, come what may, until we find a way to get back to our home.
However, seeing someone you know when you felt alone could be an overwhelming experience, filled with both excitement and trepidation. But with the right mindset and a willingness to embrace the unknown, it could also be a thrilling adventure, depending on which way you want to think.
Mine just happened to be on the positive side of things and adapting quickly to my surroundings.
"Nanally!" I embraced her tight before I asked her questions detrimental to our survival.
Like her stat and class, I was surprised that her stat was weak and her spells were few and low leveled.
I didn't know if I should tell her the truth about my class and stat, but for now, I should probably keep this information to myself – just in case.
I only told her that I was a magic swordsman, and after she told me hers, Nanally didn't care about that topic anymore. She was more worried about this world than our stat and classes right now.
I didn't know if finding her here was a relief or not. Part of me was relieved that she was here with me, and the other part wished for her to be safe back in our world.
Using the voice as our guide, we quickly got the hang of our interface, and I even knew how to adjust everything on my screen so it wouldn't get in my way.
According to the map, we were in the area of Euclid. There was a small village not far from here, a forest to one side, a mountain range on the east to south, and an ocean on the west.
Like the usual setting, we had to grind to get EXP, gil, and items so we could get stronger and increase our chances of survival in this world.
"W-what should we do now?" Nanally asked after the tutorial ended, and we were left on our own in this unfamiliar world.
"For now, let's go to the village first and ask around," I suggested.
We were about to go on our way when something caught my eye.
It was a woman of great beauty with golden hair and blue eyes. A stunning woman with long golden locks that cascade down her back and mesmerizing blue eyes that seem to pierce through your soul.
Despite her beauty, she carried herself with an air of indifference and aloofness that made it challenging to connect with her on a deeper level which kind of reminded me of Bellarose.
Just like this woman, Bellarose had always been fiercely independent and preferred to keep people at a distance, even those closest to her. She was a master at hiding her true emotions, often using her icy exterior as a shield to protect herself from getting hurt. Some might say she was cold and unfeeling, and they were right.
I knew because I courted her for a year, and nothing happened with my efforts. She was just . . . too cold.
But Despite her aloof personality, the woman with gold hair shone through, making her a magnetic and intriguing presence in any area.
I saw a guy approach her and heard him ask, "Hello, Amara. Remember me?"
The beautiful woman called Amara looked at him with dead-set eyes before she batted her eyelids and flipped her hair.
"I don't."
I didn't know why that scene reminded me of my time with Bellarose, but it did, and I felt pity for the guy.
But since it wasn't my business, we resumed our walk to the village, and on the way, we came across some beast. They were weak, though, so they didn't pose a problem. Though after that fight, I seemed to attract a lot of women's attention, and they wished to form a party with us.
I only wanted to increase our chances of survival, so I agreed, which made Nanally pout, but she didn't say a word of protest.
She should know me by now. I was a one-woman kind of guy, so she didn't have to worry a thing.
And as I expected, Nanally quickly forgot about the other women's threats when they proved to be useful in battle. And it was not only the women who joined us, even men as well, and before I knew it, our group of four turned to six within a day.
And eventually, me, Nanally, along with a few other players embarked on this new world. After slaying some goblins and getting the Mayor's recommendation, we immediately set off to the nearest town, which was Roselake Town.
And throughout our traveling to reach Roselake Town, we started off as strangers but quickly formed a tight-knit team as we battled against monsters, completed quests, and explored new areas.
I never knew that I was a warrior with powerful sword skills and magical capabilities. It was maybe because I was the Chosen one or whatever it was – but I was glad that I had that class which made my life easier, at least.
I always led the charge in battles, while Nanally, a clumsy yet kind-hearted White Mage, provided me with magical support from afar. Together with my team, we defeated formidable foes and earned valuable loot, which we used to upgrade our stats and abilities.
The other players in our team included Ford, a rogue who was adept at sneaking and stealing. Francine and Alexa, our black mages, who were supporting us from the back. And last was our warrior named Yun, who served as our tank at this point in time.
They all had unique skills and strengths that complemented each other in combat and allowed us to tackle a variety of challenges our way.
Throughout our journey, our team encountered various NPCs in small farming villages who offered us quests and rewarded us for our efforts. We also encountered rival teams and engaged in intense PvP battles.
Traveling four days from Euclid Village to Roselake Town felt like months from all that was happening every day.
Despite facing many obstacles and setbacks, my team and I persevered and ultimately emerged victorious. We've become more than just a group of players – we've become friends, united in our quest to get stronger and survive in this world while finding a way to get back in our real home.
Until this happened . . .
