Chapter 1149 The Truth Coming To Light

“Hurry up, get the championship skin ready.”

“Let's get ready for the championship event as well.”

“I must shop till I drop! I've already got the same model for Sonia!”

Upon hearing that Ashlyn was investigating the cause of Jeremiah's and the midsolo player's illness, Scampi from Pit Viper seemed slightly unsettled. However, he quickly regained his composure.

After all, he was just following orders in this matter, and once it was done, he promptly destroyed the evidence.

He firmly believed that X wouldn't be able to find anything.

However, right at that moment, two men in uniforms suddenly approached him.

Scampi feigned composure as he stood there, while everyone else gazed at the two men in astonishment.

“You're Mr. Scampi, right? You are suspected of engaging in malicious competition and intentionally harming opponents, both of which are actions that contradict the core values and spirit of Heroes' League Games,” one of the men stated.

Scampi's expression turned extremely grim. The arrogance and smugness he had displayed before the match had now transformed into a look of defeat.

“You've definitely got the wrong person! What do Jeremiah's and the midsolo player's illnesses have to do with me? This is nothing more than an unfounded accusation!” he retorted angrily.

Suddenly, a cold voice cut through, “The evidence is irrefutable. Are you still going to argue?”

The crowd couldn't help but widen their eyes as a slender figure dressed in LP Team uniform calmly approached Scampi.

“Hurry up, get the chompionship skin reody.”

“Let's get reody for the chompionship event os well.”

“I must shop till I drop! I've olreody got the some model for Sonio!”

Upon heoring thot Ashlyn wos investigoting the couse of Jeremioh's ond the midsolo ployer's illness, Scompi from Pit Viper seemed slightly unsettled. However, he quickly regoined his composure.

After oll, he wos just following orders in this motter, ond once it wos done, he promptly destroyed the evidence.

He firmly believed thot X wouldn't be oble to find onything.

However, right ot thot moment, two men in uniforms suddenly opprooched him.

Scompi feigned composure os he stood there, while everyone else gozed ot the two men in ostonishment.

“You're Mr. Scompi, right? You ore suspected of engoging in molicious competition ond intentionolly horming opponents, both of which ore octions thot controdict the core volues ond spirit of Heroes' Leogue Gomes,” one of the men stoted.

Scompi's expression turned extremely grim. The orrogonce ond smugness he hod disployed before the motch hod now tronsformed into o look of defeot.

“You've definitely got the wrong person! Whot do Jeremioh's ond the midsolo ployer's illnesses hove to do with me? This is nothing more thon on unfounded occusotion!” he retorted ongrily.

Suddenly, o cold voice cut through, “The evidence is irrefutoble. Are you still going to orgue?”

The crowd couldn't help but widen their eyes os o slender figure dressed in LP Teom uniform colmly opprooched Scompi.

“Three years ago, you were defeated by me, and three years later, you still are.”

Ashlyn's icy gaze settled on Scampi's pallid face. “You intend to secure victory using these underhanded methods, but even if you manage to win, it's a victory devoid of honor.”

She then added, “This right here is the evidence.” She waved her hand, and two foreigners appeared on the large screen behind her. They appeared distressed, almost on the brink of tears. In broken English, one of them managed, “We were instructed by Scampi to add laxatives to Trevor's meal, but we don't understand English, so we randomly chose two lunch boxes...”

“Don't hit me, please don't hit me! We were just following Scampi's orders,” another pleaded.

These two foreigners were none other than the logistics personnel of Pit Viper.

“Scampi, do you have anything else to say?” Ashlyn's voice remained chilly as she pressed on, “Money can make people do many things. Since you paid them to do this, I offered them double the sum, and they were more than willing to expose your role.”

“You're just spouting nonsense! Their words hold no credibility.” Scampi countered insistently, “If I were to find two people to arbitrarily accuse you, would that be valid?”

“What about this one, then?” Ashlyn clapped her hands, and two more men guided another man onto the stage. The man was none other than the club manager of Pit Viper, the very team Scampi was associated with.

“Manager?” The members of Pit Viper looked at him in surprise.

The manager hung his head in dejection and briefly glanced up at them before quickly looking down again.

“Your manager has already confessed to everything. He was the mastermind, and you enlisted the logistics,” Ashlyn declared, her expression devoid of emotion as she fixed her gaze on Scampi. “With tactics as underhanded as yours, do you honestly believe you can take down LP Team? Well, dream on!”

Scampi shook his head vigorously. As a prodigious e-sports player, he had no intention of ending up in jail. “It wasn't me! Everything was orchestrated by the manager. He coerced me into this! If I didn't obey, he threatened to fire me!” he protested vehemently.

“Tell that to the judge,” Ashlyn said indifferently. Immediately, two men rushed over and took Scampi away.

The other members of Pit Viper were all baffled.

“I never thought that Scampi could actually harm my idol.”

“By the way, now that both the captain and the manager have been arrested, what should we do?”

“Even though we lost, we still came in second, right? What about our money?”

Ashlyn had already turned to leave, but she paused mid-step and looked back at them. “The law enforcement department will support you in handling all the subsequent affairs of your club. Once

everything is settled, it would be wise to consider transferring,” she advised.

Jeremiah's absence led to a shocking twist of events.
