Everyone assumed the Cooks had a close relationship with Mysterious yet Majestic, so people usually showed them some respect.

As implied by its name, Mysterious yet Majestic was a discreet yet powerful organization. Ordinary individuals would not dare to provoke them.

Hence, they held the Cook family in high regard due to their connections.

Herald was infuriated by Hugo's actions. He had always been overly polite when talking with Flying Fish, to the extent that he was embarrassingly obsequious. Fortunately, Flying Fish was not the type to act all high and mighty just because of his status.

“Herald, Hugo is still young, please forgive him just this time!” Martha and Pauline pleaded at the same time.

“He's still young? How many more times should I tolerate him and excuse his mistakes? The whole Cook family's reputation hinges on our relationship with Flying Fish; it's the only reason people show us any respect. If Flying Fish and I sever ties, then... Don't hold me responsible if the Cook family falls into decline. Put the blame on him! He gave the Trojan horse virus to Sloan, who then planted it in the

computers in Section Six. The President entrusted the new energy project to me, but can you believe what's happening now? We've not only offended those in Section Six but also angered Flying Fish.”

The two women of the Cook family were dumbstruck, and Pauline's face was especially pale.

She felt the pain as though Herald had slapped her repeatedly.

She looked at Hugo in disbelief, “Hugo, is everything your brother said true? If the new energy project with Section Six falls through... it won't just be a slap from your brother you'll be facing, you'll end up in jail!”

Both Martha and Pauline stared at Hugo in utter disappointment.

Hugo was the youngest son in the family and also the most favored one. Their eldest managed the family business, and he was nothing like the youngest who spent time at home and was pampered by everyone.

Hence, Herald and Hugo were not close.

Hugo clenched his fist so tightly that his nails nearly dug into his palm.

He dared not say a word because he hadn't expected Sloan to do such a thing.
