Chapter 1294 No One To Believe Her

“You still won't admit it at this point?” Karen was so furious that she pinched Sienna's face, using her strong farmer's grip.

Sienna's face began to bleed as Karen's grip was relentless.

The pain made Sienna frown, and she cried out, “I've said it many times; he wanted to rape me!”

“You sl*t! Our village kindly took you in, and you still seduced my man!” Karen delivered another powerful slap. “We shouldn't have taken you in back then.”

“Enough! Don't waste your breath on her. Drowning her in the river is the best option,” another woman chimed in and headed to lift the cage.

Seeing this, Karen and the others hurried to assist.

Sienna panicked, struggling to push open the cage door. “Let me out! What you're doing is murder, it's illegal! You ignorant village women!”

As the cage moved closer to the river, a sudden figure came running. “Sienna! Sienna!”

It was Mitchell.

Sienna cried out loudly as though she had seen her savior, “Mitchell, save me!”

“Mitchell, don't blame us for not warning you. She's just a sl*t. Last night, she seduced my man into her room!” Karen loudly intercepted Mitchell as he approached.

“It's impossible! Sienna isn't that kind of woman, and besides, she's about to give birth!” Mitchell didn't believe a word Karen was saying.

“I know you want to marry her, but she's wild at heart. Don't let her deceive you,” Karen continued tarnishing Sienna's reputation. “If she were a good woman, why would she stay here alone with a big belly? I bet she's one of those city girls who serve city folks and got herself pregnant with some b*stard!”

“You're not allowed to insult her like that!” Mitchell's eyes turned red with anger as he pushed Karen away and rushed toward Sienna.

“Mitchell, what are you trying to do? How dare you push my woman?” Wyatt charged over and grabbed Mitchell. “She was the one who seduced me last night. She insisted she couldn't sleep and wanted to talk to me.”

Mitchell was stunned, staring at Wyatt in disbelief. “Wyatt, is that true?”

“Do you think I can lie to you?” Wyatt said with a straight face. At this point, he couldn't admit to his disgusting actions while drunk last night.

Sienna was trembling with anger. “He's lying. He's falsely accusing me.”

But no one believed her.

She could only pin her last hope on Mitchell. “Mitchell, I didn't do it. You have to believe me.”

“Mitchell, we're like brothers; we've known each other for half our lives. Do you doubt my words?” Wyatt spoke with pain. “I wasn't thinking right last night. I went to her room, and she started undressing.”

Sienna closed her eyes; at this point, she couldn't defend herself anymore.

Mitchell had once felt great sympathy and compassion for her, but now he didn't know whom to believe.

Wyatt and Karen's words sounded convincing, and they had been neighbors for so many years. It was hard to believe they would lie in front of the whole village.

Could Sienna really have strayed from the path of righteousness? Karen had a point—why would a decent woman find herself in their village with a big belly?

After a while, Mitchell said bitterly to Sienna, “I can't believe I liked you so much and helped you so often, Sienna. You've truly disappointed me.”

Sienna opened her mouth, feeling an overwhelming sense of helplessness. She felt as tiny and powerless as an ant.

She sat in the cage, her heart as cold as ashes, as the river water slowly crept up her knees and toward her neck.

She should have known that the people in this village were incredibly ignorant.

In this world, the only one who would have protected her, cherished her, and believed in her was Dixon.

No one else.

Even though Mitchell liked her, it was just a liking, and compared to others, she only occupied a small corner of his heart.

A tear rolled down her cheek and dropped into the icy river water.
