My Farm System: Reaching The Top In The Parallel Earth!

Chapter 244 244: City Of Hope

Chapter 244 244: City Of Hope

City of Hope

Inside the Savage Beast Realm, the one and only city of humanity stood. The city was unlike any city that Rezen has ever seen before

In his previous realm, the cities were created mostly using earth's technology, giving it a modern aesthetic that Rezen is familiar with

However, this city is different. If Rezen was here, it would make him feel like he was in medieval times that has an additional fantasy element

The houses and buildings were mostly white and other neutral colors. Many of which were created with bricks

The presence of technology that Rezen is familiar with was absent here but it doesn't mean that the city was backward

In fact, the city was highly developed not with technology but with magic. The street lights and other forms of lighting are not powered by electricity but by magic

Simple things such as gas stoves are also powered using magic and while there are carriages pulled by horses in the streets, the most popular mode of transport was the flying sticks

Private cars were replaced by flying sticks. People could either sit on these sticks with various designs and aesthetics or they could stand on it

However, due to the city's rules, as long as they are inside the city, instead of flying, it is more appropriate to say that they are floating

The flying sticks couldn't be used to fly at high altitudes and the users' feet were less than 1 meter above ground

This is the city of magic and civilization, the City of Hope!

This is the only city that humanity was able to create with the help of the Guardian. This city is composed of people from countless tribes and they formed their own Clans and factions inside

They cooperated together to fight against magic beasts but at the same time, there was also an internal power struggle between the numerous factions inside

The city was covered with walls flickering with magical runes that further divided the limited land. There was the outer wall, the inner wall, and the core wall

The people living inside the outer walls are the lowest class of citizens. They are poor and weak from various small tribes. Many of them were starved and if the City of Hope were to be breached by the magic beasts, they would be the first ones to face them

The inner wall is for the people of the middle class. They are those that could afford food and also have considerable strength

The factions of the people there are way better compared to the ones on the outer walls. At the very least, they don't have to worry about food and the area was more developed than the outer wall

The smallest wall was the core wall. The Guardian and other powerful mages all live there

The core wall was composed of the highest echelons of humanity. The most powerful mages of humanity live here

There were almost no people that grew up in the core wall that failed the reach the Junior Rank

If in the Waterside Tribe and the tribes nearby it, Junior Mages are the Kings, in the City of Hope, they don't amount to much as there were too many of them here

Ten kilometers away from the City of Hope, a new city was being created, or more like this place was being built by humans to be a territory that is connected to the City of Hope

Due to the limited land, agriculture is lacking resulting in poverty and hunger for those in the lower class

To treat that problem, humanity has to expand its territory but in a realm dominated by the magic beasts, how could such a thing possibly be easy?

For the people living in the city of hope, this new city that was being built has the nickname "Walls of the Underworld"

The first thing that humans did to capture this territory is to kill or drive away the magic beasts living on it and after doing that, they started building walls

Driving away the magic beasts would be far from enough as they would just return stronger than before

As such, there was the need to create walls fortified by magic. As long as the walls are created, the mages stationed in this place would have an easier time defending the new city

However, creating the walls is not as easy as it sounds. Even after years of construction, humanity still couldn't finish this city that causes the deaths of thousands upon thousands of mages from the City of Hope

This day, the new city once again proved why it was nicknamed "Walls of the Underworld"

Just like usual, the military personnel stationed at the city being built was attacked by the magic beasts

On humanity's side, the mages were divided into two camps

The first one was those that wore armor that gives them ample protection. Many of them were holding weapons such as Swords, Sabers, Rapiers, Spears, Axes, Daggers, and many more

They engaged the enemies in close combat. They are also the tanks, they are harder to kill than the second type of mages

Flying at a relatively low altitude from the mages and magic beasts on the ground were the second type of mages

These mages were riding on flying sticks. Compared to the flying sticks of the people inside the City of Hope which are flashy, most flying sticks of the military personnel look quite dull

However, what they lacked in aesthetics was made up by their utilities. Many of the flying sticks have built-in spells that the mages could use at a moment's notice. Some could even automatically erect a barrier when the user was attacked and they were unable to react in time

If the mages on the ground were fighting using various cold weapons, these flying mages on the other hand either have short Magic Wands or long Magic Scepters

With the aid of their magic artifacts, the flying mages constantly shoot streams of elemental energies

What's happening right now is no different than war. If these mages were to use one powerful magic after another, it wouldn't be long before they exhaust their mana

Without mana, the mages that received the blessing of mana on their soul would be powerless while those that received the blessing of mana on their physical bodies would be far weaker than they are at their peak

There was a great need to conserve mana and even if they have the ability to cast devastating spells, they wouldn't do so unless it was extremely necessary

In this chaotic battlefield where all sorts of magic from both humans and magic beasts are thrown, one of the mages on the ground heard a voice directly in his head

"Head to CW-236! The mages there are being pushed back. Prevent the walls from being attacked by the magic beasts!"

As magic is developed in the City of Hope, telepathy is possible and humans use it to send orders to Military Mages when they are fighting against the magic beasts

After receiving the order, this mage's face turned ashen and his eyes burned with fury

CW-236 is a coordinate of a certain section of the "Walls of the Underworld" and it was a section of the wall that this mage doesn't want to be destroyed

It was a section of the wall where one of his friends lose his life to defend!

The reason why the walls of this new city couldn't be finished was because the walls are being constantly destroyed by the magic beasts resulting in a turtle pace construction

Once a section of the walls was destroyed, it has to be rebuilt which would mean more time, materials, and wasted lives of people that tried to protect it

"I, Wermon wouldn't make my friend's sacrifice in vain! We will succeed in finishing these damn walls and creating a new city for humanity!" He vowed to himself as his grip on his sword tightened

Weng!!

Wermon suddenly swung his sword and cut a magic beast that approached him in half before he run in the direction of coordinates CW-236

On his way, he cut one magic beast after another with his sword. In terms of strength, it could be said that while he is not at the peak, he still has considerable power on this battlefield as he is a Junior Mage in the 6th cycle!

That's the 6th cycle! Even a mage in the 3rd cycle was able to face eight mages and kill four of them. If Titane didn't die mysteriously, it was possible for him to annihilate all eight mages that destroyed his tribe

Since a 3rd cycle mage could do that, what more for a 6th cycle mage? Perhaps, one attack is all it needs for Wermon to annihilate the tribes that attacked the Metal Swors Tribe

Yet even a mage this powerful is still far from reaching the peak in the City of Hope as there are thousands of mages at the same level as him
