Chapter 51
Chapter 51
The Stigma of Fire bursts into flames that were shot toward the Wolf King and his mount
The flame looks like any other flame you would encounter. It was simply crimson in color and its temperature wasn’t even as high as the flames that high-ranking mages can conjure
This kind of flame should not be something that the Wolf King has to be afraid of but his danger sense was telling him that those flames would kill him
Stigma of Fire… based on the system’s description it would incinerate all and any enemy upon activation and it didn’t lie or exaggerate!
Despite the Wolf King trying to dodge or block the flames, it still landed on his body and also on the wolf below him
Both of them tried to resist the fire but it was a futile attempt. No matter how hard they try, the flames continue to burn them. Using magic spells was useless and didn’t even slow down the rate of burning
In just a matter of seconds, both the Wolf King and his mount were already dead, not even their ashes remained
Just like the system description, they were incinerated to death, not even leaving anything aside from the belongings of the Wolf King
The fire only burned the Wolf King and the mount’s body. As for his robe and other belongings, they were left behind
The Stigma of Fire’s effect was better than Rezen had imagined. It literally only burned the enemies and not their items!
Rich! Rezen is definitely rich! The wealth of a 5th fusion rank mage would end up in his hands!
“H-how… how is this possible?!” Pierre exclaimed in extreme shock. He cannot believe that a mage at the 5th fusion rank and a magic beast at the 6th fusion rank would die just like that
This was too anticlimactic! Where is the long and hard battle? Where are the spells that can literally flatten the ground? And most importantly, how did a little mage at the 2nd fusion rank possibly do such a thing?
Pierre looked at Rezen in disbelief. He felt like his commonsense was turned upside down and he was looking at Rezen as if he was looking at a monster
As for Rezen, he signaled to Zero using his eyes
After living a week together, they now have a tacit understanding with each other and Zero moved behind Pierre
He gave the poor soldier’s neck a karate chop that rendered him unconscious
After that, Rezen excitedly checked his spoils of war which contains a mage robe and a void storage ring
The mage robe is defensive clothing but Rezen ignored it as the most important thing for him is the contents of the void storage ring of the 5th rank mage
Inside it was mountains of mana stones!
Since Rezen was busy hunting magic beasts and squeezing the clementines to upgrade his elixir field, he wasn’t able to earn much money
By that, he meant tens of millions. Still, his net worth already breached a million
It mostly came from Florine’s side and the others were the ‘little money’ he earned with the military with Claude’s subordinate as the middleman and also the little shop of Neil’s Family
Rezen didn’t dare supply too much to Neil’s family shop as the store is small and wouldn’t be able to store all the spirit plants
Also because of the danger that it would pose to those ordinary people if they were to hold too much money
Since Rezen didn’t focus on farming the past week, his net worth only breached a million mana stones thanks to Florine
However, the void storage ring that he obtained today contains millions of them
Yes, that’s right, millions! Just how many points could he buy with these?
Rezen thinks that he doesn’t even have to hunt magic beasts anymore! Just using all these mana stones for lottery tickets and blessing points would suffice!
For every one thousand mana stones, Rezen would either gain roughly 50 blessing points and 50 lottery tickets
With millions of mana stones… how many could he earn with them?
“Hehehehehe…” Rezen drooled from this prospect as he greedily rubbed the void storage ring but his delight didn’t stay for a long time
The Wolf King and his mount are already dead but their subordinates were still on the move!
They arrived slower than the Wolf King but the thing is, they still did!
A sea of wolves arrived on Rezen’s farm and all the hair on his body stood up
“The hell! I shouldn’t have been too greedy!” Rezen cursed, his face paling
Just the 5th fusion rank magic beasts alone are already more than enough to kill him much less the 4th fusion rank wolves!
Even if there are only ungraded rank wolves, with this many of them, Rezen would still die!
If Rezen knew that these wolves would arrive then he wouldn’t even think twice before abandoning the void storage ring!
He would definitely go straight to his vehicle and drove off!
“Master!” Zero said in worry as the artificial human stood in front of him
Zero has the resolve to sacrifice his life for Rezen but even if there are hundreds of him, he still wouldn’t be enough
“Howl!”
The wolves didn’t waste any time as they charged toward Rezen and Zero
The fastest of them was the 5th rank wolves. Their speed made it impossible for Rezen and Zero to react
Their claws were just inches away from them when…
“[Garden of Terror!]” A familiar female voice rang around
A large-scale green magic circle formed in the ground and carnivorous plants grew
These plants look similar to a certain game character. They look a bit similar to a venus-fly trap but much bigger
They might not be able to swallow an entire wolf but they still bit off large chunks of their flesh
“[Freeze!]”
This time, the magic circle came from above. It rained down small pieces of ice but as soon as it lands on anything, whether it be the wolves or simply just the ground, they were still frozen in ice. They turned into ice wolf statues and even the ground froze
When Rezen and Zero raised their heads, they saw two people in the skies
One of them was Florine. She was directly floating in the air. The other one was Rain that was standing on a sheet of ice
Seeing them, Rezen was relieved. They arrived just in time!
If they were even a single second late then Rezen would have already died from the claws of these wolves
Fortunately, there weren’t any 6th fusion rank grey wolves anymore as it already died thanks to the Stigma of Fire
As for the 5th fusion ranks… in front of a 6th fusion mage, could they even offer a resistance?
Magic beasts might be generally stronger than humans at the same rank but the difference in power at the higher ranks was like mountains that are almost impossible to cross
Florine is more than enough to kill the few 5th rank wolves!
“Sisters!” Rezen called out happily. He was more than happy to see them right now since if they did not arrive in time, he would already be dead
The pair of sisters flew down to check on Rezen, their precious supplier of spirit plants
“What happened here? Why are there so many wolves?” Florine questioned as this situation is definitely abnormal
Rain was about to ask the same thing when she notices the robe in Rezen’s hand
“Hmm?? Isn’t that a mage robe made from devil spider silk?” Rain’s curiosity was piqued as she touched the soft robe to check its quality
“No way… it’s really a robe made from the silk of rank 5 devil spider! This robe can endure attacks with power equivalent to 5th fusion spells! Not even 6th fusion rank mages can get one easily since they are rare and hard to create. Where did you get this robe?” Rain exclaimed
She wanted to buy one for her and her sister. This robe although would not fully protect the user from the power of 5th fusion spells since the impact would still penetrate the defense of the robe is still a lifesaver
It would diminish the power of the spells that would harm the wearer!
To think that a low-ranking mage would have such a treasure…
“Hmm? Is that what is it? Good stuff!” Rezen praised before he slammed his fist into his palm
“Ah, right. That unconscious guy…” Rezen said as he pointed at the fainted Pierre. “… he said that there was an old mage that turned into a monster and their Captain has trapped that monster to save the few surviving soldiers. But the monster still got out in just a few minutes” Rezen explained
“Monster?”
“Yes, it was a bipedal creature with a furry body. It basically looks like a werewolf and it was riding a grey wolf as big as a buffalo! Damn, now that I think of it, this is the first time I have seen a wolf that big!”
