My Fiance Ran Away On Our Wedding Day

Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Chapter 55

It was already too late.

Anika waited twenty minutes after sending the message but received no response from Nataly or Alena.

Feeling distracted, she lied on the bed with her phone in her hands.

Not long after, she fell asleep with those thoughts in her mind.

The next day, Anika woke up very early.

After that night, she finally admitted that she was attracted to Zac, but she was also determined to restrain herself.

As of now, she wouldn't do anything until she was sure that he also felt the same.

Thinking about Zac's hangover last night, Anika finished her bath and went downstairs.

She took some kumquats from the refrigerator and made him a cup of sober tea.

Zac, on the other hand, walked down from the second floor wearing a loose T-shirt and sweatpants.

The man seemed to have just gotten out of the shower.

His short, fine hair was simply brushed past, with some water dripping on it.

It shone brightly in the early morning light.

After changing into his usual suit, the cold and mature aura on his body dimmed a little.

With a few distinctions, he was handsome, lean, sturdy, and full of vigor.

The guilt in Anika's heart lessened slightly as her gaze fell on his handsome face.

She came closer to him and pursed her lips.

"I made you a cup of sober tea.Drink it first! “ Zac nodded lightly, took the cup of sober tea on the dining table and drank it all in one gulp.

"I was drunk last night.Did I cause you any trouble?" he asked casually.

The man lowered his eyelids, expressionless.

Anika felt a little guilty and quickly replied.

"No- Zac let out a soft hum and put down his cup before he sat down.” He leaned against the back of the chair and looked at her deeply.

"So, I really did nothing, right?" He asked curiously.

"You're so drunk, so what could you possibly do?"

Anika couldn't help but laugh when she remembered how drunk he looked at her last night.

Zac raised his eyebrows and looked at her with an inquiring gaze, "Why do you sound so disappointed?"

Anika paused for a while before she lowered her eyes, "What do I have to be disappointed with .."

Her last words slowly faded.

She quietly served their breakfast with I simple toast, poached eggs and millet porridge.

Zac rolled his eyes slightly, then withdrew his gaze, picked up the porridge she had placed in front of him, and didn't ask any more questions.

The two of them silently ate their breakfast and the dining room was filled with silence.

Anika ate her breakfast slowly, as if she was thinking about something else.

As soon as Zac finished his breakfast, he reached out a tissue and slowly wiped the corners of his mouth.

After a while, he said casually, "Oh right, I forgot to tell you that I had installed a camera in the master bedroom."

Upon hearing what he said, Anika's hand that was holding the toast instantly froze.

"You installed a camera here and you didn't even tell me?" she reacted right away.

‘’If he installed a camera in the master bedroom, did he watch the video from last night when he woke up?’’

Although she didn't do anything, with Zac's attitude, he had definitely discovered what had happened last night and was asking for confirmation from her.

While Zac continued to explain in a relaxed manner, she silently contemplated her own feelings.

"Don't worry, I only installed it on my bedroom and study area so it won't affect you.You said last time that the safe was vulnerable to thieves, so I thought this is the best way to protect my own property”

Anika recently discovered that Zac had left so much money in the study room and casually advised him to strengthen his anti-theft measures so that he could easily catch the thieves.

However, she never expected that Zac would install a camera in his bedroom.

‘‘Is there any treasure in his room?’ "Even if it doesn't affect me, you should at least let me know." Anika muttered softly.

How could it not affect her? If she knew that he had installed a camera in the master bedroom, she would have restrained her impulse action last night.

But she couldn't tell him that.

Zac laughed at her reaction.

"Anika, why do you care so much? Tell me, have you done something to me last night?"

His dark eyes showed that he already had an idea as he looked at her pale face.

Anika's fingertips moved slightly, then she frowned and shook her head.

"How can you say that?"

"Oh? Really?"

"No." she quickly answered.

Zac silently looked at her for a few a minutes before finally giving up on interrogating her.

"Oh, I'm just kidding. There's no camera in my room."

He shook his head and smiled.

Anika was speechless.

‘He just fooled me!’

"By the way, I bought you a coat when I was shopping yesterday.’ she changed the topic, "I'm not sure of your size but I still bought it.You can try it.If it won't fit, then I'll change it in the afternoon"

In the afternoon, she was scheduled to meet Nataly and Alena at a cafe near the commercial street.

The place was very near to LG Square.

Zac caught a glimpse of the shopping bag in the living room and raised his eyebrows to look at her.

"You don't know my size?"

‘How would I know your size?’ Anika raised her eyes in confusion and heard him spoke lazily, "Didn't you personally hug me just recently?"

"I..." Anika's heart trembled slightly from his stare.

She sighed, "Where did you get that idea?"

Last night, before she could hug him, she had already stopped herself.

Even if her heart told her otherwise, she would still restrain herself, at least until they both felt the same way.

Zac raised his eyebrows and chuckled.

He lightly waved his slender knuckles and said, "Last time, you hugged me and cried in the living room: ‘So it's about the night of Grandpa's death”

"Oh, I didn't pay attention at that time." she replied.

Anika heaved a sigh of relief and tried to remember what he had said when he comforted her that day.

As she thought about it, it seemed that Zac was also intimate with her, so she still had a chance.

Zac looked at her subtle expression.

The corners of his mouth curved into a faint smile and his eyes were emotionless.

After a while, he got up and said, "Sure, I'll try it"

It was so obvious that Anika had good taste in clothes.

That coat fitted perfectly and also matched Zac's personality.

So, in the end, there was no need to change the coat.

In the afternoon, Anika put on her light makeup and wore a cool thin dress.

As soon as she arrived at the cafe, she was immediately welcomed by her shocked friends.

"Nika, when did you fall in love with Zac?"

They just met yesterday.

After reading her message this morning, Alena was puzzled as to why Anika had started to pursue Zac overnight.

Anika was somewhat embarrassed.

Holding the coffee cup, she frowned slightly.

"I don't know, I just suddenly realized that...my feelings towards him had changed.''

At first, she only wanted to get along with Zac, but now, she wasn't satisfied with their ‘getting along’ set up.

Suddenly, she just lowered her defenses towards him.

She had also realized that, unfortunately, she would still be interested in seeing someone like this.

Anika was also new to this feeling.

When Alena first heard this, her eyes were filled with doubt.

"Then you are not angry at all when facing Zac's bad temper?"

As what she had known from high school, Anika was always annoyed by Zac's rude attitude and was often mad at him.

"No.I still get mad with him." Anika smiled.

"But whenever I get mad, I just feel that … he was quite cute when being particular"

She had also liked Kayden before, but she had never thought of taking the initiative to pursue him, nor had she even thought of getting along with him.

They both had reserved personalities.

They had never even blushed, and there was no strong attraction between them.

However, Zac was different.

Anika felt that their relationship was naturally lively and there was no dull! moment.

There were moments where she was angered by him, then she would lose her control and fight with him.

There were also times when she appreciated his good qualities.

Every time she thought about all those moments, it made her want to stay by his side.

"Although he is arrogant, he still respects me very much.Even if he is playful sometimes, he never crossed the bottom line" Anika heaved a sigh.

Alena shook her head repeatedly as she looked at Anika’s expression.

"It's over, it's over.I don't think you still want to get a divorce."
