My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 120 Shocked

Chapter 120 Shocked

"That was one long nose powdering session," Amaya said as Emma sat down on her seat.

"It's been almost thirty minutes since you left," Christina said. "What took you so long and where's Ferran?"

"He offered to show me around the house and I saw it as an opportunity to get some useful information for work," Emma said with a shrug.

"Taking the opportunity to work while at a party, that's nice," Amaya said before taking a sip from her drink.

Dave had returned to his teammates after returning to the room and after beating Adolf and Pirlo with the help of Merino with a four points margin, Mateo made his way to the goalkeeper.

"What was taking her long in there and where's Ferran?" The winger asked.

"Ferran offered to take her on a house tour," Dave replied.

"So, that's what took them so long in there," Mateo said. "Where's Ferran by the way?"

"He's coming."

It didn't take long before the door was pushed open for Ferran to make his way into the room holding his phone in his hand.

The first place his eyes had gone as soon as he entered the room was the table and he immediately made eye contact with Emma who was just taking a sip from her glass of wine.

He didn't keep his gaze on her for long and slowly turned away before making his way to his teammates who were still playing tennis ball.

"Are you sure anything didn't happen between you two in there?" Amaya asked.

That question had caused her to almost spit the liquid in her mouth back into her glass.

"Why would you say something like that?" She asked.

Judging by the tone of her voice she was quite offended.

"The way he looked at you and the way you paused with the glass against your lips when your gaze met his," Amaya said.

"You are aware that I came here with my boyfriend right?"

"I know, but things happen."

"Hey, guys, Razid FC are currently five goals down with twenty minutes left," Ferran said as soon as he got closer to his teammates.

"Five goals down!" Edward said with a shocked expression on his face.

"Did Okafor score again?" Adolf asked.

"No, but he assisted the fourth goal," Ferran said.

"That guy is something else," Merino said.

"I'm starting to get a bad feeling about Tuesday's match," Pirlo said.

"Um….quick question Ferran, how long did it take for Okafor to complete his hat trick?" Mateo asked.

"Don't worry, Mateo, your record's still safe, he got really close though," Ferran said.

"How close?"

"Nineteen minutes."

"Yeah, that's really close, that guy's going to be a problem for us on Tuesday if we don't find a way to stop him from getting into our box and shooting from outside," Mateo said.

"Yeah, we have to win that match at all costs because there's no covering that goal difference for us," Adolf said.

"Oh, dear," Ferran said with his gaze fixed on his phone's screen and a horrid look on his face.

"What?" Merino asked.

"They just scored their sixth goal," Ferran said. "And guess who the scorer is?"

"Okafor," Dave muttered.

"Yeah."

"Four goals now!" Merino exclaimed.

"I know the guy is a beast but I am going to give myself a sense of confidence and say that Razid aren't that strong anymore," Edward said.

"Yeah, but still they beat us home and away with three goals each and we couldn't even score against them," Pirlo said.

"Did you have to spoil it?" Edward grumbled before turning his gaze to him.

"It's okay to panic now," Minino said. "But today's Sunday and we still have a lot of time, Norman has a lot of time to figure out a way to stop them, with the way our team is right now, I don't think they'll be able to get six goals past us."

"But they can get three or two past us and that will be enough to win," Edward said.

"Instead of thinking that we stand no chance against them, I think you should go home and analyze that match, that's how other teams find out the weakness of their opponents," Minino said.

<Finally, someone with something reasonable to say>

After spending a few more moments together, the players thanked Ferran for the party before making their way home.

Dave and Emma arrived home at exactly 11:00 PM and you could say that both of them were equally tired.

"That was a nice party, for the most part of it," Emma said before opening the door to the house.

Dave didn't say anything as he closed the door and stood there while she made her way toward the staircase.

As soon as his gaze fell to her heels, he remembered a question that he wanted to ask.

"Um….babe." He called before she could step on the first step of the staircase.

"Yeah." She said before quickly turning to face him.

"I noticed your feet were wet when we met in that hallway." He said, moving closer to her. "Why were they wet?"

This was something she had been avoiding and now that he asked a question linking to it, she had no option but to tell him the truth.

"He took me to his private pool." She said,

"Private pool? For what?"

"He wanted to show me the temperature regulator, he wanted to show me how it worked so I had to take off my heels and put my feet in the water and it was all nice until….."

"Until what?" Dave asked.

"He asked me to get in the pool with him so that he could teach me how to swim." She said with an awkward expression.

"Why would he tell you that?" Dave said with a furious look on his face.

'I knew something wasn't right, I knew she was holding something back.'

The goalkeeper was about to say something else when Emma quickly got closer to him and pressed her lips against his.

"There's no need to be angry, you know I would never leave you for anybody else." She said as soon as she pulled out from the kiss. "I don't want this to get in the way of your teammate's relationship with him."

"The party was just a means to get close to you," Dave muttered.

"Maybe, but he didn't succeed." She said before placing both of her hands on his collar. "I don't like seeing your face like that."

'Ferran.' He said subconsciously before biting his lower lip.

He was quite shocked to find out that this was one of Ferran's main motives for inviting them to the party.

'That explains why the others never showed up.'

"Smile." She said, using her hand to force a smile on his face and when she removed her hands, it stayed that way. "That's good, now let's go upstairs and get changed, I love you."

Dave didn't say anything as he watched her walk upstairs and as soon as she was out of sight, he let out a deep sigh.

<If only she knew what was going on in your mind right now>
