My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 193 Shocking Everyone At Training

Chapter 193 Shocking Everyone At Training

He slowly opened his eyes to the rays of the sun entering the room through the window, the first thing he saw as he opened his eyes was the ceiling was always as he liked sleeping on his back, and after staring at the ceiling for a little while, he turned his gaze to Mateo's bed to see that he wasn't there.

"What?" He said before quickly sitting up on his bed.

'Did I wake up late again?' He asked subconsciously. 'I always wake up before him, yesterday was the only difference, and now today...'

<You didn't wake up late, you should try checking your time as soon as you wake up>

The goalkeeper slowly turned his gaze to the clock to see that the time was just hitting 7:00 AM.

"So, he just got up early today." He muttered.

After saying that, the door to the bathroom opened for Mateo to walk out with a white face towel hanging over his shoulder.

"You're up." The winger said. "I thought you were planning to sleep a little longer just like you did yesterday."

"We have a game to play today, why will I sleep a little longer? We have to get ready and head to the stadium for a training session." The goalkeeper said.

"Yeah, the training session is starting by 9:00 AM, so we just have two hours to get ready," Mateo said.

"Okay."

'Today's the day.' The goalkeeper said subconsciously before folding his right hand into a fist.

After having their breakfast and getting everything they needed ready, the players headed off to the pitch along with Norman and the required staff for the training session.

Before the training started, Norman had a few words to share with them and after that, the training kicked off.

It started with the running of laps as always as they needed to warm up their bodies before heading into any other activities.

After that, they switched to the stretches, push-ups, and sit-ups too and after getting that part taken care of, they switched to the more interesting and strategic parts of training.

The training continued for a while until most of the players retreated to the sidelines to hydrate themselves.

There were still a few players left on the pitch and one of those players was Dave who was standing in front of the goalpost with a ball lying near the edge of the box inside the eighteen-yard box.

"What's Dave trying to do?" Ferran asked before turning his gaze to Mateo who was sitting beside him trying to get all the water in the water bottle inside his system.

"Why don't you just watch and see what he's trying to do." The winger replied with a grin on his face.

Dave slowly took four steps backward and when he stopped, he took in a deep breath and let it out before he quickly raced toward the ball, pulled his leg back, and sent it flying toward the goalpost on the other side of the pitch.

The kick seemed to have caught everyone's attention as they all watched as the ball flew toward the goalpost a little from the left and when it got close enough, it banged on the crossbar before bouncing right on the goal line and falling into the goalpost.

"What the heck?" Minino said with a stunned look on his face.

"He actually got that shot on target from that far," Ferran said with a surprised look on his face.

When Dave attempted that shot against Manchester United, almost everyone thought it was a fluke shot that he would mess up if he tried to do it again and the fact that he didn't attempt it against Benfica made their conclusion more solid for them but right now, the goalkeeper was showing them that it was no fluke and was something he had just started working on recently.

He dropped another ball at the edge of the box and took two steps backward this time.

'There was really no need to hit it with that much power, this post isn't as far away from me as that one.' He said subconsciously before he closed up on the ball and sent it flying toward the goalpost.

This one seemed to be heading for the goalpost directly throughout but halfway through, it curved toward the far right and banged right on the angle of the right crossbar before flying into the net.

"He did it again," Roland muttered.

The youngster had stopped what he was doing just to watch Dave play his shots.

"Is this really the Dave I used to know," Adolf muttered.

'He's gotten better at it, if I didn't know better, I would say he sneaks off at night to come train here.' Mateo thought.

'When did he develop such wonderful shot power and accuracy?' Ferran thought.

"How can a goalkeeper have that level of shot power and accuracy?" Alexander said with a puzzled look on his face.

'So this is where your current training has been all about.' Norman thought with a grin on his face.

"A lot of players do great things during training sessions and fail to replicate those things during the matches that matter," Jonas grumbled before crossing his arms.

"A good example of that is the recent you." Luis Roberto said.

Jonas had failed to realize that the right back was sitting next to him before he said what he said.

The only thing the left-back could do was shoot him a sharp stare before getting up and making his way to the pitch with his gaze on Dave who was talking with Alexander now.

'How did he go from a clumsy and lazy goalkeeper to this in such a short amount of time?' The left-back thought. 'His growth is unnatural, he must be using some kind of enhancements, yes, that must be it, and when he is found out, his career will totally be ruined.'

An evil smirk appeared on his face just as those thoughts ran through his mind.

After an hour and about thirty minutes, the training session had come to an end and now it was time for them to head back to the hotel and meet up with Norman in the large room later so that he could fill them in on the tactics and the players who were going to be starting.

Dave and Mateo had just entered their room and they seemed to be in sync as they headed for their beds with the same pattern of staggering movement and crashed down on them at the same time flat on their faces.

"Today's training session was fun but tiring," Mateo said, trying to slow down the pace of his breathing.

"I couldn't agree more," Dave said.

His breathing wasn't as fast-paced as Mateo's.

There was a little moment of silence as Mateo turned away from him but it didn't take long before the winger turned back to him to say something.

"You should try those shots of yourselves with every chance you get against, you may end up getting a goal from it and a goal from that far will go down in history as one of the most iconic goals ever." The winger expressed.

"I'll try," Dave replied.

'I'll definitely try with every chance I get.'
