Chapter 211 Special Training

Chapter 211 Special Training

The players were back on the pitch now for the second half to kick off, Unique FC were still leading two goals to one and now it was time to see if Sheffield United will be able to get back in the game.

The rain had stopped now which was a good thing for the players.

Andy was standing over the ball on the kick-off spot waiting for the referee's whistle and as soon as he heard it, he quickly sent the ball rolling toward the closest teammate to him.

"That's the kick-off, the second half is on the way," Jim said.

"It's time to see what Sheffield United has cooked up for the second half and see how Unique FC are going to react to it but they may end up being the ones to strike again." Steve expressed.

Sheffield United just like Unique FC were a team that loved to slowly build from their side, they loved to keep the ball but against Unique FC, they didn't seem to be keeping much of the ball.

Their first attacking attempt was foiled by Adolf who was quick enough to intercept the through pass from midfield before it could get to Andy.

"Nice work from Adolf there, who knows what would have happened if that ball had gone through to him," Jim commented.

Adolf quickly sent the ball to Roland who quickly sent it flying toward Minino on the side.

"Switching flanks now."

Minino quickly got hold of the ball and sent it to Henry before both of the players close to him could gang up on him.

Henry lost the ball to the midfielder marking him but Pirlo happened to be close enough to win the ball back with a neat tackle.

"What a way to win the ball back, nice work from Pirlo," Steve said.

Pirlo quickly pushed the ball to Harry on the left side of midfield.

The midfielder slowly got past the player marking some neat footwork before he quickly took off.

"He's broken through and leading an attack now."

Just before getting close to the box, he played a short pass to Mateo who attempted to dribble past the players in front of him before he played it back to Henry who was super quick to understand what the winger was about to do.

He quickly sent the ball back to him as he quickly broke free from the defense and made his way into the box.

"Mateo's trying to do something here," Jim commented.

The winger received the ball, quickly turned with it, and drilled it toward the bottom left side of the goalpost. There was a player right in front of him but he knew exactly where to put the ball.

"Mateo!"

The goalkeeper stretched his right leg right in time to block it and luckily for Mateo, the rebound came rolling back at him.

"Oh, he's stopped it but it's not over yet."

Three of the defenders in the area quickly rushed toward the winger to try and bring him down but he was quick enough to send the ball back toward the goalpost before they could get to him.

The keeper stretched his body to stop the ball but before his whole body could touch the floor, the ball zoomed past him through his legs and rolled into the goalpost.

"What a way to take care of it!" Jim exclaimed.

The goalkeeper had been brought down by the defenders right inside the box after taking that shot but he didn't care, he quickly rushed to the sidelines and did a knee slide.

"The first one was saved but he remained calm and neatly put the rebound into the goalpost," Jim said.

The fans were going wild with their chants and cheers now as the winger's teammates joined him to celebrate.

"What a player, he has now scored in every single match they've played so far in their pre-season tour," Steve said.

"I know right, he's an exceptional talent," Jim commented. "Adding to Sheffield United's misery, Unique FC have now put a two-goal cushion between the sides. There's still a lot of time for them to make a full comeback but do they really have what it takes to do it?"

"At least we can breathe easy now," Dave said before letting out a deep breath.

The match continued after the celebration, that one goal from Mateo was all that was needed to demoralize Sheffield United as their gameplay seemed to have slowed down more now giving Unique FC to grab hold of more control of the match.

Despite having almost absolute control over the match, the Bilbeth Premier League side just couldn't get another goal well, because Sheffield United were more defensive now although their gameplay had slowed down.

The time had hit the sixtieth minute and now it was time for Norman to bring off a lot of the players on the pitch.

Dave was the first to be replaced before Mateo, Minino, Carlos, Fred, Adolf and Harry were brought off and replaced by the players on the bench.

The players had to watch the rest of the match from the bench now, but that wasn't a problem as they continued to dominate the game and even for very good chances but they just weren't able to convert them.

After thirty minutes and seven minutes of added time, the match finally came to an end with none of the sides being able to get any more goals.

The man of the match was none other than Mateo Smith.

"That's the whistle to mark the end of the match, I was really expecting something good from Sheffield United in this half but I didn't get to see it, it was a good match but they were quite disappointing in the second half." Jim expressed.

"Yeah, they just fell asleep after that goal from Mateo," Steve said.

"They had a little bit of fighting spirit in the first half but they just lost it in the second half. Sheffield United have some work to do on themselves and once again, Unique FC has shown us that they are improving." Jim articulated. "That brings us to the end of our coverage today, goodbye and we'll see you all next time."

'Only two goals conceded so far with four matches to go.' Dave said subconsciously as he walked down the tunnel with his teammates.

<The impressive thing is not that you've only conceded two goals in five matches, the impressive thing is that none of those goals were open play goals, the first one was an own goal and this one came from a penalty kick>

'Yeah, I haven't even thought about it, that is pretty impressive.' The goalkeeper replied.

<Yeah, but your next opponent is Barcelona so you have to look sharp or that may be the day you see that quest failed message on your screen>

'I know that, and I'm not really that scared to face them.'

<You're not?>

'Yeah, I'm just excited about it, besides small teams beat big teams sometimes but it's not going to be easy.'

<Of course, it won't, just do me a favor and leave your dream control feature active tonight>

'Is there a reason for that?' He inquired.

<Yeah>

'What is that?'

<I have an idea for a special training that will help you be more efficient against a team that tends to attack more often and shoot more often>

'A special training.' The goalkeeper repeated subconsciously as he walked into the locker room with his teammates.
