My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 214 At Camp Nou

Chapter 214 At Camp Nou

The evening training session was over now and the players were back to their rooms to get some rest and look for something fun to do for those that wanted to do something fun.

As for Dave and Mateo, they were both in their rooms but Mateo was sitting on his bed with both of his legs placed on the small table beside his bed, which was an indicator that he was going to leave the room soon.

"How do you see tomorrow's match playing out?" The goalkeeper asked.

"I don't know exactly, it's going to be a tough match, a really tough one but we'll try our best, beating them is going to be hard so we should try and get the first goal and then enter a defensive mode." The winger articulated.

"I don't think getting the first goal is going to be easy," Dave said.

"I never said it was going to be easy." The winger said before getting up from his bed.

"Going to play FIFA?"

"Yeah, just for a few minutes, I'll be back." He said before quickly making his way out of the room.

About five minutes into his sleep, the goalkeeper found himself in the endless white space with Catherine standing right in front of him.

"Reflex training A.K.A special training." He said.

"Yeah, let's get to it." She said.

After about thirty minutes of training, the goalkeeper slowly opened his eyes and picked up his phone to see that the time was 6:20 PM.

'I think you brought me back a little too early, Catherine.' He said subconsciously.

<You were the one that asked to be taken back>

The goalkeeper didn't reply to her and just let out a sigh before sitting up on his bed.

Mateo was still fast asleep and he wasn't going to be getting up for the next hour.

"A short run would be nice." The goalkeeper muttered.

After taking care of everything they had to take care of at the hotel, the players were now on the pitch for their training session.

The training session lasted for about ninety minutes plus before the players gathered at the sidelines for Norman to fill them in on the tactics and the players who were going to be starting in the match.

"As you all know, this is going to be our toughest match so far, it doesn't really matter if we win, draw or lose but we should try our best not to lose." He said. "For this match, we will be using the four-four-two formation for defensive purposes mainly but we're not going to be all defense so we will have an attacking midfielder, and a defensive midfielder."

<That makes sense>

"Dave will be the man between the sticks, Norman Kole on the right side of the defense, Adolf and Aima in the middle, and Roland on the left. Martinez Alejandro will be starting in the defensive midfield position, Ferran in the attacking midfield position, Harry on the left, and Minino on the right. The attack will be led by Fredinho and Mateo in the striking position." The coach articulated.

'That's our starting eleven, I just wish Merino was fit to come on as a substitute at least.' The goalkeeper said subconsciously.

With the players aware of their tactics, formation, and the players that we're going to be starting, the players made their way back to the hotel to start heading out.

The match was kicking off by 4:00 PM so they had to be at the Camp Nou by at least 3:00 PM.

Camp Nou wasn't as far away from them as the Reale Arena so it wouldn't take them long to get there.

The players moved off by 2:20 PM and by 3:05 PM, they were already at Camp Nou.

"You would think the Reale Arena is huge until you see this stadium," Mateo said as he slowly raised his gaze from the bottom to the top of the stadium.

? "Yeah, but still, it isn't the largest stadium in the world," Dave said with his gaze on the highest point of the building.

The players were welcomed inside and were shown to the locker room where they were changing into their training outfits.

After that, the players made their way out of the room and we're heading to the pitch now.

"The home of legends." The goalkeeper muttered as he looked at the wallpapers of the club's legends placed all over the wall in the hallway.

The dim rays of the setting sun shone on them as they stepped out of the tunnel, there were some people already in the stands and as expected, FC Barcelona players were already warming up on the pitch.

"So, Emma's going to be here," Mateo said as he looked around the area to see if he could spot her.

"She should already be here by now," Dave said.

"Hey, over here!"

The two quickly turned their gaze to the right side where the voice was coming from to see the person they were just talking about heading toward them with a microphone in her hand.

She was putting on a red short-sleeved shirt with a pair of black trousers to go with her black shoes. It looked like she tried really hard to make her hair straight but the curls were still there in the parts where it was difficult to get rid of them.

"It's really nice to see you." She said before wrapping her arms around Dave in a hug.

"I feel the same way." The goalkeeper said.

"And you too." She said before leaving Dave and pressing his little her little brother's face against her body, he was caught off guard.

"Hey, cut it out." The winger said before struggling his way out of her grip. "I thought we talked about the hugs already."

"Sorry, I forgot." She said before turning her gaze to Dave.

"You look nice." The goalkeeper said.

"Thank you." She smiled.

"You said your twin is going to be here, where is she?" Mateo asked.

"She's over there talking to Vasquez." She said before pointing toward the far end of Barcelona's side.

The winger turned his gaze to the side and spotted her immediately, he thought there was something wrong with her hair but he didn't jump to any conclusion as he thought that it may be because she was not that close enough.

It didn't take long for him to find out as Emilia was done speaking with Vasquez and was now heading toward them.

The closer she got, the more he realized that his eyes weren't playing with him and now that she was close enough, he could see it clearly, his gaze couldn't leave her head.

"Hey, guys." She said.

"What the heck happened to your hair?" The winger asked.

Dave was also asking the same question.

She was known for having red hair but that wasn't the case here, her hair was dark just like Emma's, slightly darker to be precise.
