Chapter 238 Break The Blame
Chapter 238 Break The Blame
"Hey, what are you doing?" She said with a smile on her face before slowly opening her eyes and turning to the side to see that no one was there. "Oh, he's gone."
She slowly raised her gaze toward the exit and kept it there for a while before she slowly began to get up from the bed.
"I still don't feel good but I have things to do before going to work, I was lucky that Miss. Nelly didn't notice my late coming yesterday." She mumbled to herself as she made her way out of the room.
'This is becoming too much, I have to take that test again, but what if…."
Just as she stepped onto the first step of the staircase, the sweet smell of something getting fried swept past her nose.
"What's that?" She said before increasing her pace down the staircase.
She got down the staircase and made her way to the kitchen to find Dave there, he was certainly frying something and he was putting on her red apron.
"Dave?" She said with a surprised expression on her face.
"Oh, hey you're awake already." He turned to her with a bright smile on his face.
"You're making breakfast?"
"What does it look like to you?" The goalkeeper asked.
She didn't say anything again until she slowly walked closer to him to see what he was making.
"Pancakes." She said after seeing them piled up on a plate.
"Yeah, pancakes to go with milk and if you feel like you can't eat them, then I'll make some toast." He said with his focus on what he was doing.
"No, no, there's no need for that, the pancakes are okay." She said.
"That's good to hear." He said before turning to her with a smile. "Now go upstairs and clean your mouth, everything will be ready soon."
She stared at him for a while before responding with a nod and a smile on her face.

"You're eating quite a lot for someone who appears to be sick," Dave said after watching her take away the last pancake on her plate before he knew it, it had already gone down her throat before she used the last milk in the glass to wash it down.
'I wish I could have that but sadly I am on a diet that prohibits me from eating things like that.'
<You can go ahead and try it, you won't die or get punished, you'll just simply fail the quest>
'And you want me to do that now that I am almost two months up, no thank you.'
"Thank you, babe," Emma said with a smile on her face.
"That's not a problem, you do it for me all the time so the least I can do is take over just for today so that you can rest." The goalkeeper expressed.
"You're so sweet." She said before getting up from her seat. "Well, I have to go get ready for work now."
"Do you really have to go to work in your condition?" Dave asked.
"Yeah and besides, I'm feeling a lot better now." She said.
"Okay, if you insist on going, then I'll have to help you get ready." The goalkeeper said as he got up from his seat and made his way to her.
"No, Dave, that's not necessary, I can handle myself now." She said.
"Keep quiet." The goalkeeper said before lifting her in a bridal manner. "Who knows what will happen if you mistakenly fall in your condition."
'A miscarriage.'
She couldn't resist as Dave slowly carried her up the staircase.
'Condition.' She thought.
"Hey, why don't we go see the doctor today after you return from work?"
"Okay." She replied in a low voice.

Unique FC had a charity match against Supreme United on Thursday and a trophy was involved, but there was a big doubt about if they would be able to beat Supreme United.
Their last ten matches against Supreme United had not been so good, they had only managed to get one draw while suffering nine big defeats.
Most of the fans thought that this could be the start of their redemption from the red supremacy but some believed that it would end the way it has always ended.
The seven goals-to-one defeat last season was the biggest defeat and humiliation Unique FC had suffered at the hands of Supreme United and Norman didn't want that to repeat itself, not while he was still the coach.
The players had gathered for a short training session in the afternoon and after doing the basic warm-ups, they dived straight into business.
'Supreme United have humiliated us for so long but I believe that this season will mark the end of our humiliation in their hands, our team is stronger now and I believe in all of you.'
Norman's words ran through the goalkeeper's mind as he kept out Roland's shots from twenty yards out.
"Your reaction speed and reflexes are unbelievable," Roland said after watching him punch out the last ball which he sent flying toward the top right-hand corner.
"Thank you," Dave said after getting up from the floor.
"You will be very crucial when we face Supreme United tomorrow." The young left-back said.
"I hope I can be." The goalkeeper said. "I was the reason why we got humiliated in our last match against them."
"Um….I don't think so." Roland said, shaking his head.
"Huh?"
"Sure you made a lot of mistakes but the defense was partly to blame for that humiliation, at some point they just stopped defending, and that resulted in Supreme United scoring more goals." Roland expressed.
"I guess you're right but I think most of the blame should be on my head and I am looking forward to breaking that blame tomorrow." The goalkeeper said with his gaze on the sky.
<I thought the match didn't hold much value to you>
'Well, the narrative has changed now.'
The training session had come to an end and now it was time for the players to start heading home but before that, Norman had one more thing that he wanted to say to them.
"Remember the way that we played in unity in our pre-season matches, if we are linked in unity, mistakes won't happen and our gameplay, you guys will have to remember that if we're going to win tomorrow." He said.
"Hey, coach, can I get my starting position back?" Jonas asked just as Norman was about to turn.
"I thought I've already made this clear to you, Jonas, Roland is now the starting left back," Norman said.
"But I've regained my form, I can do well as a starter now."
"What the heck is wrong with him?" Minino muttered.
"I will be the one to decide that, Jonas, you'll be good coming off from the bench." The coach said.
"Seriously? Then maybe I should go look for a club where I will become a starter." The left-back said.
"If that is what you want to do, then go ahead," Norman said before he began to make his way out of the area.
The left-back stood there with a look of despise on his face as his teammates walked past him.
"You should work on your attitude, Jonas, then maybe you can start making requests like that," Mateo said as he walked past him.
