My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 400 Super Aggressive

Chapter 400 Super Aggressive

?

That goal from Dave hyped up the fans as they were all chanting his name now, even some of the opposing fans were quite impressed by that goal and couldn't help but applaud him.

"That was a well-taken free kick from Dave to put his team ahead, Martinez sure knew what he was doing calling him over to take the free kick." Jim expressed.

"I think he was just like us who knew there was a chance that Dave could be good with free kicks and just wanted to see him do it."

"Yeah, and I think he is one of the players in their squad who understands Dave's ability quite well. I mean there were times when he could have started something from the center but he just sends the ball back to Dave for him to either send it flying in or aim for the goalpost." Jim articulated.

The match continued with Unique FC fans more hyper than they were during the start of the match, that goal from Dave was just all they needed to bring their voice up and change the atmosphere of the stadium.

Sunglow United were doing everything they could to try and get a goal but Unique FC weren't making that easy for them, even Jonas was doing well in his position or maybe that was because Sunglow United's right winger didn't know where he stood when it came to running.

After watching the winger fail countless times in his attempt to get past Roland plus the other mistakes he made, their manager decided to bring him.

Right at the thirty-eight minute when the ball was sent flying out for a throw-in by Martinez, the official with the board raised his board to show the number twenty-seven in red and the number twenty-two in green.

"Looks like Sunglow United's manager has decided to make his first change of the match in the first half pulling off Zinoski and replacing him with Mika." Jim expressed. "Zino doesn't really look happy getting taken off this early but he really can't do anything about it."

The winger didn't even bother to shake the hand of his replacement as he walked past him with a straight.

Mika just shrugged as he made his way to the pitch jogging toward his position.

"Well, I mean he was making a lot of mistakes, I wouldn't say taking him off was exactly the right thing to do since there was a chance that he could have picked himself up but you can't really blame the manager." Steve expressed.

The match continued with Sunglow United still holding onto the ball.

They passed the ball around in midfield to try and draw out Unique FC players.

That was working well for them until one of the midfielders sent the ball flying over to Mika who was free on his side but Jonas was heading toward him now.

He waited to get close enough before he pushed the ball with his side foot to put in between his legs and get past him.

"Oh…."

Now all he needed to do was close down on the box before Pirlo could and he would have a clear sight on goal.

Jonas wasn't planning on giving up that easily though as he stretched his hand and grabbed Mika by his shorts.

He didn't want him anywhere near the box so he ended up dragging the winger down.

The linesman immediately raised his flag and the referee blew his whistle as he got closer to the area.

Pirlo along with Martinez closed up on the referee as they already had an idea of what was about to happen.

There were also Sunglow United players who weren't happy with what Jonas did and wanted to confront him fiercely but Luis Roberto and Harry were there to block them and try to calm them down.

"There's a lot of commotion on the pitch now," Jim commented.

"Yeah, and that's quite ironic given how Unique FC players weren't even this rowdy when Frankie was taken down under that terrible challenge." Steve expressed.

Roberto and Harry were able to push the Sunglow United players off but Pirlo and Martinez weren't able to shake the referee's mind as he raised a yellow card above Jonas.

"Looks like Jonas just got booked for that pull on Mika."

"Well, that wasn't unexpected."

Sunglow United now had a free kick about twenty-five yards away from the goalpost and it looked like Mika was going to be the one to take it because he was the one standing over the ball now.

"Let's see what Sunglow United can do with this one."

Unique FC had a four-man wall just at the edge of the box, and the other players were just running around in the area.

The referee made sure that everything was ready, and after that, he blew his whistle.

"Will Mika be able to put this away and give his team the equalizer? Well, we're about to find out."

As soon as Mika heard the whistle, he slowly took three steps backward before he quickly closed up on the ball and fired it toward the goalpost.

Dave didn't need to worry about that as he just watched as the ball flew over the bar not even coming close to being a threat.

"Oh, that's not troubling anyone."

'I wasn't expecting some level of threat, but I guess this works too.' Dave said subconsciously.

The match continued with none of the sides being able to come up with anything.

Unique FC were obviously the ones dominating the match but that was only slightly because Sunglow United were also causing some trouble for them.

If Norman had started his starting eleven, then this match would have been over a long time ago.

Carlos received the ball down the right wing and managed to get past the left back with a quick run before he sent the ball flying into the box.

Fred jumped higher than everyone else in the box at that moment to get his head on the ball but his effort went to waste as the ball as the ball hit the crossbar before going out for a goal kick.

"Oh, no, that was so close."

As soon as that ball went over the bar, the referee blew his whistle twice to bring the first half to an end.

"And there's the whistle for the first half break," Steve commented. "I would say it has been an even fight between both sides so far, at least it would have looked that way."

"Yeah, Sunglow United have done pretty well so far to hold their ground and keep Unique FC from starting a goal fest against them." Jim expressed. "But then again, this isn't Unique FC's main starting eleven, I'm sure things would have ended a bit differently in this first half if Norman had decided to start everyone in his starting eleven."

Back in the locker room, Norman didn't really have anything much to tell his players and seemed to be surprisingly impressed with the way his players have played so far.

Putting all these players on the pitch, he wasn't really expecting much from them, especially in midfield but they seem to have surprised him and were currently leading the game.

That said, he had a couple of areas where he wanted to give them pointers and a couple of mistakes that he wanted to correct.

After that, he made it clear that if they get better in the second half and get a stronger grip on the game, then he wasn't going to bring on some players to rest them for the match against West Ham United on Thursday.

After that, he left the players to rest for a while in the locker room before they were finally given the signal to start making their way to the pitch to kick off the second half.

"Welcome back everyone, the second half is about to kick off as we can see the players making their way to the pitch now," Jim said. "The first half was quite interesting and I'm expecting way more in this second half."

"Don't get your hopes that up, Jim, this might as well be a downgrade of the first half, it happens a lot in football." Steve expressed.

Since Sunglow started the match from the kick-off spot in the first half, Unique FC were going to be the ones to do it in this half.

Fred stood over the ball, waiting for the referee's whistle, and as soon as he heard it, he sent the ball rolling to Harry who immediately pushed it to Martinez.

The players moved the ball around smoothly here, way better than they did in the first half.

Harry received the ball from Martinez and quickly dribbled past the player in front of him before pushing the ball to Fredinho on the left wing.

"Fredinho."

Fredinho closed up on the right back and managed to get past him with a neat dribble.

He was entering the box now when a player from outside the box quickly rushed toward him and brought him down with a fierce tackle.

"Oh, dear, that doesn't look good."

Fredinho was now on the floor with his hands on his legs as his teammates along with Sunglow United players gathered around the area.

Martinez wasn't taking things lightly as he was trying to get to the player responsible for the foul but his teammates weren't making it easy for him.

"That's the second super aggressive tackle from them in this game, I wonder if the verdict will be the same."

The referee made his way to the area after blowing his whistle and without hesitation, he raised a red card above the player.

"That's the second straight red card of the game, Sunglow United are two men down now."
