Chapter 448 Someone's Coming Back
Chapter 448 Someone's Coming Back
?
Fredinho fired the ball toward the top right side of the goalpost, but Dave was fast enough to get to it on time and hit it down.
Minino was the second person, and seeing that Dave was now on the furthest right, he placed right in the bottom left corner.
Dave quickly dived toward the ball with his right glove, but unfortunately, he wasn't able to get to it on time.
The goalkeeper was still on the floor when Mateo fired the ball toward the right but he didn't even bother to chase it as the ball ended up crashing into the goalpost.
Next up was Merino, and as soon as the winger fired the ball toward the right with a little bit of elevation, the goalkeeper dived toward it and caught it with both of his gloves.
"Go, Roland!" Minino yelled.
The left-back got a bit irked by him suddenly yelling his name like that but he knew he had to hurry, and because of that reason, he made the mistake of firing the ball right down the middle.
Dave quickly sprang toward the ball as soon as he saw it coming and sent it flying over the bar with the tip of his glove.
Ferran was up next and he fired the ball toward the top right-hand corner where he believed the goalkeeper wouldn't be able to reach it from, but unfortunately, the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before flying over.
<That was the sixth one>
It was now over to Fred, and the striker didn't hesitate in firing it toward the goalpost, toward the right side.
However, he made the mistake of adding no elevation to it, and not stretching far enough as all it took Dave to stop that, was stretching his leg out.
Next up was Martinez and the defensive midfielder just didn't have the time to play around as he fired the ball toward the top left-hand side while Dave was still on the floor, and the goalkeeper didn't even bother trying to save that as the ball ended up smashing right into the net.
Pirlo was the ninth man who attempted to stretch out Dave by firing the ball toward the farthest right side with just a little bit of elevation.
However, Dave was able to get the tip of his glove on it right on time and that was all that was needed to push it further for it to hit the post and roll off from the side.
Adolf was the last man, and the captain does not miss opportunities like this.
He didn't hesitate in firing the ball toward the left while Dave was still on the right and he did not hold back with his shot power.
Dave attempted to get to it despite knowing how impossible it would be and he failed miserably as the ball ended up smashing right into the net before he could even get close to getting to it.
"Seriously?" The goalkeeper muttered before slowly sitting up on the floor.
"Hmm, so you managed to save five, we scored four, and one hit the crossbar." Minino articulated as he made his way to the goalkeeper. "Not bad."
"Yeah, I won." Dave declared before slowly getting up on his feet.
"It would have been a tie if that one from Ferran had gone in instead of hitting the crossbar but since that happened it ended six to four so yeah, you won which is sort of embarrassing for us." The midfielder expressed before turning his gaze back to his teammate.
<And to think that you didn't use ball magnet, thrust, or focus, if you had used any of those they would have scored less than four>
'Yeah, but I already told you, I'm trying to limit using the skills to dangerous situations where it's really necessary.'
<Yeah, I know, that's good adaptation training in case the system shuts down on you one day in the middle of a match or you get a no-system quest like the one you got against Lazio>
'Yeah, that is part of the reason why I'm doing it.'
The players continued their training session until Norman called them together for an announcement.
"I have good news for all of you." He declared as soon as all the players gathered in front of him.
"Good news? What kind?" Minino inquired.
"The good kind of course." The coach said with a confused expression on his face before slowly turning his gaze away from the midfielder. "Anyway, Frankie will be returning to the squad this month, he won't be able to join us against Black Roz on Tuesday but he'll be back to training with us for the match against Dynamo FC."
"Wow, that's great news," Martinez commented.
"Yeah, I've missed that guy," Minino remarked.
"Well, he is the only midfielder on the team who can easily fulfill multiple roles, I just hope he hasn't lost his mojo." Roland expressed.
'That's quite the good news, now I won't have to get worried whenever Martinez gets subbed off.'
<Yeah, but just like Roland said, just pray he hasn't lost his charm>
'Don't worry, the coach will get him back in shape if that happens to be the case and besides this isn't the first time he's been out for a while because of an injury.'
After telling the players about Frankie returning, Norman proceeded to talk to them about a couple of things regarding their match against Black Roz FC, he already had every strategy laid out, all that was left now was for them to implement it in the match two days from now.
Talking to the players about all that was the final part of their training session as the players were allowed to start heading home after that.
It was a morning training session that day, so it was normal that Dave got home by noon to discover that there was no one at home.
After walking into the house, he let out a deep sigh before slamming the door shut.
He staggered toward the couch and dropped his bag on it before proceeding further to the kitchen and straight to the fridge where he took out a bottle of water to quench his thirst.
He slowly slurped down the contents of the bottle until it was all gone and he threw the now-empty container into the waste bin.
'It's been a good day so far, Cat.'
<Yeah, I wonder if it will end as a great day>
'Hey, what are you on about? Don't jinx it.'
<I wasn't trying to, sorry>
The goalkeeper didn't say anything in response to that as he made his way to the couch and crashed down on it.
Now that he was on the couch, he slowly slipped his phone out of his pocket and turned the screen on.
"So, Mateo's still the player with the most goals and assists so far this season, twenty goals and fifteen assists in twenty matches."
<Yeah, those numbers look unreal>
'He's four goals ahead of Roland now and two assists ahead of Frank, I wonder if he can pull off winning both.'
<It's possible, he's doing great so far but anything can happen down the season but he's on the right track at least>
'Yeah, I would be really happy to see him win it though, and become the first player in the Bilbeth Premier League to grab both awards in a season.'
<You know you're also on the right track of breaking a big record this season>
'Yeah, Grandpa's record of thirty-two clean sheets in a season, looks unreal but I'll try my best.'
