Chapter 407: Chapter 408: Fight (4)
“Qin Zhiyou, you bastard!” Kong Jie, heartsick for his son, erupted in anger. Seizing the opportunity when Qin Weijian had grabbed Qin Zhiyou’s arm, he slapped him. However, he didn’t hit his face, but only his neck.
Fortunately, the Qin Family’s servants who had followed Qin Weijian and Kong Jie intervened in time to break up the fight.
The brawl left Qin Zhigu’s face thoroughly beaten – a broken corner of his mouth, a black eye, and grimy all over. Qin Zhiyou was no better off – his face and neck had taken a beating, his clothing was crumpled and soaked with rain, making him look as miserable as a drowned rat.
While Qin Zhigu had a large crowd gathered around him – his parents and the servants, Lu Weixi had deliberately maintained her distance from Qin Zhiyou. Qin Zhiyou had brushed her off several times when she tried to intervene in the fight. Furthermore, Qin Zhigu’s tirade had struck a chord with her. She was indeed angry with Qin Zhiyou’s womanizing and offended by Liu Yiyi’s arrogance.
This man really disgusted her, he brought all manner of dirt and filth into their home. If he liked Liu Yiyi that much, why didn’t he just divorce her and marry Liu Yiyi instead? He even thought about having children with her. Who would ever want to have his children!
What’s more, while he makes such a public show outside, she couldn’t get a single sentence in with Qin Zhigu without getting hit. So it’s fine for him to start fires, but the civilian can’t even light a candle!?
Although Qin Zhigu had behaved slightly inappropriately earlier, overall, he had been very proper. They had been merely talking, carrying out a normal conversation. On what grounds did he have to jump in without proper inquiry and started a fight!?
By his standard, she would have been justified in beating Liu Yiyi to death!
Because Qin Zhigu bore the brunt of the conflict, Qin Weijian and Kong Jie had their servants help him back. Qin Zhiyou, looking pitiful, glanced at Lu Weixi, but she coolly turned away from him and walked back to the Qin mansion without even a second glance at him, let alone helping him treat his wounds or walk him back home.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Qin Zhiyou slowly followed her from behind.
The group made a grand return to the Qin mansion. Qin Weijia, Chang Zaigang, Qin Zhimei, and Qin Zhizha were all taken aback upon seeing them. Qin Weijia immediately asked, “What happened? Did Zhigu fall down?”
Before he could finish his sentence, they saw Lu Weixi and Qin Zhiyou, trailing pitifully behind her. He too was filthy, and his bruised and battered face clearly indicated that he had been in a fight.
Immediately, Qin Zhimei started her mockery: “Oh, isn’t this my brilliant and valiant big brother? How did he end up like this? Did he get into a fight with his wife? He almost lost his looks.”
Qin Zhiyou didn’t respond to her and didn’t even glance at her.
Normally, at times like these, Lu Weixi would say a word or two. But this time, she remained completely indifferent, not replying at all.
The rain had soaked almost everyone, and they needed a bath once they were home. Qin Zhiyou followed Lu Weixi upstairs to their room. She paused at the entry and coldly looked back at him. “Sorry, but I need to take a bath.”
Qin Zhiyou hesitated for a moment. Back in the past, he would have unashamedly insisted on bathing with her. But today, he hesitated slightly.
Noticing his hesitation, a brief moment of heartache flashed through Lu Weixi’s eyes, quickly replaced by a mocking smile.
For that instant, Qin Zhiyou felt a surge to confess everything to her! He grabbed her arm, “Nothing happened between Liu Yiyi and me…”
