236 Imminent Danger
“Human trafficker or not, you’re the one who did it!”
Qiao Xin’s reaction confirmed Qiao Yue’s suspicion that she had taken Hong Ning somewhere.
“What does that have anything to do with me? Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you.” Qiao Xin rolled her eyes at Qiao Yue.
“You know that there are surveillance cameras everywhere, right? You kicked our prop and broke it, and then you did this to Hong Ning. Are you trying to get expelled from school?”
Speaking of expulsion from school, Qiao Xin looked at Qiao Yue and sneered, “Why would I get expelled? If anyone should be expelled, it should be a poor and unimportant student like Hong Ning!”
Qiao Xin emphasized the word “poor”, as if it was the only way she could spurn Hong Ning and Qiao Yue.
“You’d better not be too arrogant.”
Qiao Yue looked at Qiao Xin coldly.
She then left backstage and continued her search for Hong Ning.
Xu Hao was also searching for Hong Ning with his classmates. Everyone had Hong Ning to thank for their win. Why did she go missing when it was time to receive the award?
Finally, they found Hong Ning outside the hall. She had been pushed down the steps near the side door of the auditorium.
The stairs ran for almost an entire floor. Although one might not die from a fall like that, one would still be seriously injured.
When they found Hong Ning, she was lying at the bottom of the steps, her eyes closed in pain. Her clothes were covered in dirt, and there were cuts all over her body, probably from the sharp edges of the steps.
Qiao Yue rushed over and carried Hong Ning to the school infirmary.
The doctor examined Hong Ning and found injuries all over her body. She had probably also been beaten up.
One of her legs had suffered a heavy blow, and it might be broken.
Qiao Yue eyes narrowed. How was Qiao Xin capable of something like that now?
She asked the doctor to take care of Hong Ning and went back to the auditorium to find Qiao Xin.
Qiao Xin was with a few of her friends, and they all looked at Qiao Yue with disdain when they saw him.
“What happened? You didn’t find Hong Ning?” One of the girls named Chen Shan said with a smile. “Hong Ning is just a special admission student. She’s unimportant.”
“Unimportant? So, you just find someone to beat her up, Qiao Xin?”
“I didn’t, okay? Don’t slander me. Where’s the evidence?” Qiao Xin chuckled as she looked at Qiao Yue.
“Like I said, there are surveillance cameras all over the auditorium.”
Qiao Xin and the girls cackled at the mention of surveillance, as if they had just heard a joke.
“What surveillance footage? Go find it.”
Xu Hao also felt very angry as he watched the girls.
Hong Ning specialized in dance and she was going to pursue dance as a career. If these people destroyed her legs, they would have ruined her studies and her life.
It was just a competition, but these people wanted to destroy another person’s life.
“Let’s go to the security control room.” Qiao Yue led her classmates to the security control room, and they bumped into students from St. Faustina’s on the way.
When Oswald saw Qiao Yue rushing to the security control room with people, he followed.
“Where are you guys going?” Oswald looked at Qiao Yue and asked with a smile.
“Sorry, we have something urgent to attend to, and I don’t think we know each other.” Qiao Yue replied coldly.
Oswald didn’t get angry and continued to follow Qiao Yue. “Then why don’t we just get to know each other now?”
Xu Hao was grumbling silently about this person’s complete lack of tact.
Oswald followed them into the security control room.
In the room, one of the security officers, Zhang, was busy typing on a computer.
“Uncle Zhang, we would like to look at the security footage of the school auditorium.” Qiao Yue didn’t beat around the bush and went straight to the point.
“It’s not that I won’t let you look at the footage, but there’s something wrong with the system.” Uncle Zhang scratched his head in embarrassment. “I don’t know why the surveillance system went down just now. After I rebooted the system, I can’t find the recordings anymore. I’m sorry, students.”
She knew it. How could Qiao Xin not know about the surveillance cameras?
Some of students with better grades had already gone over to help Uncle Zhang deal with the system.
Qiao Yue frowned. With her ability, she would probably be able to restore the system, but her classmates would then find out about her computing skills.
“Computing skills at Harvey isn’t so good after all.”
Oswald spoke just as everyone was getting anxious.
