My Mother Has a System but Won't Use It

Chapter 210: Fiery

Chapter 210: Fiery

Liyue looked at Han Li and felt an instinctive urge to just close her eyes.

She gulped and walked some steps back.

Han Li seemed like an explosion through her Existence-infused senses. There he was, sat in a meditative position silently, eyes closed.

The last glimmer of light in the outside world made him seem as simple as a normal monk, but his stature was like that of a mountain.

Dark clouds appeared in the skies out of nowhere, and the wind lifted the curtains; the world fell into suppressive darkness. Thunder reverberated across the world.

Liyue walked out of the room and looked up at the sky with a bemused expression. Turning her gaze straight, she saw a burning bonfire, it must have been prepared as a part of her Breakthrough celebrations.

The fire waved in the wind while the people seated around it looked at it intently. The rain would probably come and douse the fire. The lanterns fitted into the hanging ceilings made clinging noises, and an ominous air hung heavy.

She glanced at Han Li, who was seated inside the room amidst dancing curtains. From inside her, the Spirit spoke fearfully: "That kid is a monster, a crazy man. He is devouring the Heavens. Does he not care about the consequences that would come with it?"

"Consequences?"

"He has taken the Dao of Lust and he now has the rule over the Dao of Lust all over the place his Soul Sense would stretch to. It is an enormous boon but," The Spirit snorted. "The Golden shadow, you saw it too, didn't you?"

"Yes, it's around me and everyone around him."

"It's Luck. Fortune. Immense luck!" The Spirit said, "That's why I wanted to possess one of you in the first place. From Han Li's mother as a source, everyone around her has immense luck. Han Li is also a very lucky man on his own.

"The manifestation of a golden shadow around one is the most powerful form of luck in all of the Cosmos, but if one went against heaven, he would lose all of his luck. He will have bad luck in whatever he does, and his enemies would have amazing luck."

Liyue frowned.

"Luck always had a slight touch on him from the start of his days but now, he will be cursed for bad luck worse than a normal man could ever handle…" The Spirit sounded vengeful and filled with glee.

She had been forced to swear on her Existence to not harm anyone unless Liyue gave permission… and, without being manipulated.

She only had utter hatred for Han Li and his harem members.

"He is no normal man."

Liyue gave her no further heed and felt for the lands surrounding her. The world in itself seemed to be resisting futilely yet fiercely.

Crows whipped past in the skies, and roaming eagles flew beyond the clouds to escape from the rain and storm.

The monks seated across had all gotten into meditative positions, mumbling "Amitabha!" and looking around in the lotus position. A drop of rain fell on her cheeks, then another.

She faintly smiled.

"What a wonderful scenery."

A man's voice echoed from behind her and he stepped out of the room, looking around at the dark surroundings and silent world filled with monk's mumbling.

She turned back with a graceful circle and met the man. He was Han Li. He stretched a hand out for her to grab.

She hesitated. "Why such a downgrade in aura?"

Nervousness budded in her heart. Was it because he had lost all of his luck?

There was not a bit of golden aura around his Existence now. Just darkness.

Han Li was the same as before. Yet, he felt as if he was a weakling, a mortal. Even the normal Evolved around had more of a fearful vibe than him.

He smiled and snatched her hand. His gaze moving at the cloudy dark skies that had started a torrential downpour at some point. He had a faint feeling that if the Heavens were not wounded, he would have probably died from a thunderclap.

Calmly, he walked out into the open with her hand in his and rain blasted across their faces. Intensifying as the sound of hushed flames and the smell of wet charcoal spread out of the bonfire.

Wet monks all focused on them as the couple stood in the middle.

The women that Han Li cared about also noticed him amidst the smoke of the doused bonfire. They hadn't gotten wet since Hua Yu's Soul Sense protected them.

Han Li hugged Liyue's waist, then tripped her leg halfway to have her in the perfect position. She flushed amidst everyone's gazes and her wet cheeks became red. The rain doused all sounds except their heartbeats.

She could feel the water trickling down her body.

The first to make some noise was Ruo, who clapped with a faint smile, but then, Yue Li got what was going on and couldn't help but blink in amazement.

Then, everyone grew silent.

Han Li's voice was clear even in the storm. Liyue was wet and blushing but her own eyes became full of anticipation.

"Here, in this blessed temple grounds, I announce that Shan Liyue shall be my Wife since thus. A wife I swear to protect this whole life."

Liyue blushed even amidst the water trickling on her face relentlessly. She cleared her throat nervously. What was she to say?

What do people even say in this situation?

"… announcement accepted."

Many monks looked at them harshly.

They were marrying here in a temple where Monks who abstained from marriage lived!

Hideous!

Yue Li and the gang clapped and whistled while Wei Yuanfen, smirking slightly, threw a flower at Liyue.

Liyue didn't care at first, but halfway through the flower's travel, her face changed.

"Big Brother, it's some kind of prank…" She said desperately. Han Li only laughed.

The flower landed on Liyue and Han Li and a cloak of fire washed them in a majestic display. Even Han Li was a bit wry at that, but suddenly, he looked at the onlookers, and an image was created in everyone's mind.

Two devilishly beautiful people, Shan Liyue and Han Li, cloaked in clothes robes of fire with majestic gazes and an unbridled sense of freedom and an aura of confidence that saw all else but themselves as insignificant.

They stood in the middle of the rain—atop the mountains of the Temple of Suffering.

Even the monks were stunned.

A crackle of thunder illuminated the place and Monk Hen Shin's shadow stretched behind him. He stood above the roof of the highest temple and shook his head.

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right-doing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. Is it?" The Monk couldn't help but lapse into thoughts. Then, he looked at Han Li and inwardly shivered at the red gaze he was returned. The smirk.

He sighed. Then jumped out of the roof and began dancing out of nowhere.

The bald monk's dance was a sight to see and Han Li couldn't help but laugh wildly.

Hen Shin had finally abandoned appearances.

Beautiful the night was. Oh so much so.

Even after the rain passed, a new campfire was set up, and all of the women teased Liyue in all sorts of ways. For whatever pride she had been boasting of, the girl was basically a wrecking ball of shyness once more.

Yue Li or Li Yao would secretly go and whisper into her ears, passing their forbidden technique to her while she would blush more. She couldn't even look at Han Li's face at some point, always blushing and looking away.

He could only lament. Women.

Then, his gaze moved to Liyue using his Existence-enhanced Life Vision and his already great mood got even better. Silently, night deepened, and the newly married couple retreated into their bed quarters.

Their doors closed.

Hua Feilan looked at her palm, a wistful expression on her face.

Ruo smiled at the clear heavens and white moon while walking with her hands clasped behind her back.

Hua Yu was the only one who was among the monks, looking at everything with curious eyes but not joining in anything in particular. A spectator.

Monk Hen Shin's disciple girl, who was stricken with Han Li, was nowhere to be found.

"I know right," Li Yao and Yue Li noted others. Their gaze speculative.

What a weird wedding!

Lamenting about their children in their own words, the women lost themselves in idle chatter. Walking melanchollicaly while occasionally glancing at the closed door.

Wei Yuanfen joined in their lamenting and the old women couldn't help but feel slighted.

"We old people are analyzing, you are talking worthless things. Go away, Shoo, shoo."

The young woman couldn't help but sigh. She got along greatly with Liyue but the only others she had a great time with was Li Yao and Yue Li. Ruo was too silent, Hua Feilan too friendly and too mature, Hua Yu looked at her as if she was some interesting thing every time.

Now Liyue was inside her room with her Master. Yuanfen couldn't help but think of what they might be doing inside. Her face slightly blushed.

She looked at her palm. "Is this love?"

Her Spark didn't react, so it shouldn't be.
