Chapter 81 Knowing thyself
Chapter 81 Knowing thyself
81 Knowing thyself
Blood, Organs, Bone, Skin, Flesh, and Tendons.
Each of them would give him a unique advantage and none of it was inferior compared to the others. All of them were very useful things.
First and foremost, his major priority was combat strength and potential. So, in combat two things mattered the most. Survival and Murder.
And even in that, Survival came first.
'I will cultivate my Skin as the first transformation,' Han Li thought, 'Skin would be much better in defense than any other and would serve to protect all parts of my body.'
And then came strength in order to murder. But that was more complicated, tendons improved his speed and speed was as much of an advantage as strength. He was deep in thought about it and finally, after some minutes, came to a reasonable decision. 'I will first cultivate my skin to perfection. The rest comes later!'
He flipped to the page talking about the skin. In truth, he already remembered everything in the book by heart, but doing this with it infront of him made it much more straightforward.
"Attain a Skin similar to me by cultivating this method to perfection— Skin Building ." Han Li looked at the Lust Demon's guidance with his sparkling red eyes. For this man, he had nothing but respect. He was the biggest luck in his own life after all.
Of course, that was because he was dead. Otherwise, Han Li wouldn't bother feeling meaningless thanks that could uselessly bind him on his path. Not all emotions were worthy of his sacrifice.
He was quite a narcissistic person but his heart was firm on what was important and what was not.
He read the method. "Cut the paper containing the Skin Building Method and use a Lust Dao Energy Crystal of any level. Roll the crystal in the paper and bring it into your Empty Space alongside the crystal."
After evolution, Cultivators could easily take in objects the size of the Energy Crystals out and into their Empty Spaces. Han Li did a read-through of the rest of the method and brought out a pearl-sized red crystal from his body.
He then gulped and cut the whole page containing the Skin Building Method and wrapped it around the crystal. The crystal vanished along with the paper.
He then closed his eyes and entered his Empty Space. It was as dark as ever inside, with a sun-like Dao Soul, and two little crystals around. There was also a small red swirl on the side. Han Li briefly glanced at it using his omnipotent point of view of everything around him.
Controlling everything inside was under his soul's duties. And his soul was a god inside the Empty Space. He looked infront of the Dao Soul and a piece of paper floated towards it. Doa Souls might seem small once outside, but inside the body, it was as tall as the person itself. So the paper didn't look gigantic.
The second part of the process was absorbing the Paper into the Dao Soul by chanting a lengthy verse written there. The Dao Soul caressed the paper and Han Li started to whisper the chant.
It was a long and mysterious number of jargon-sounding words that Han Li could find no meaning in, but once he ended it with no mistakes, the paper flapped like a butterfly and wrapped around his arm like a second layer of skin and then expanded in seconds to cover all of the Dao Soul's body.
Han Li opened his eyes to the outside world and sweated and panted hotly as his body started mutating. He knew the process was about to begin, so he got himself ready and waited for the pain.
It felt as if hundreds of people with iron for nails had started scratching his body, His skin started to fall off and he gritted his teeth in pain. But miraculously, no blood was lost as new, pristine, and white-brownish skin appeared around his body.
It was a short process lasting merely 5 minutes and Han Li removed the unnecessary skin from his body. He had just molted! Some might have fainted in the pain but Han Li had seen worse.
Skin Building, 1% complete!
He smiled as he pushed the skin into the bedsheet and wrapped the sheet around it in a ball.
'I should throw it away later,' he thought as he touched his new, sensitive skin. It felt ticklish and weird, but at the same time, more like leather than human skin. But it was still far too weak.
If any type of Transformation Path Cultivator at the Evolution stage used his weapons against Han Li, he would still be cut apart like tofu with no resistance. "But now," he murmured as he looked down at his hands. A small red crystal popped inside the Empty Space and the skin-like membrane surrounding the Dao Soul absorbed the energy in it. Making Han Li breathe out as his skin became a bit warm.
"I should have improved a bit more…" he thought, but there was no way to clearly tell how much. But then he blinked, no, he had something that he had yet to check.
He walked out of bed and looked at a half-body-sized mirror and squinted. His soul sense started to scan the mirror. But nothing happened.
He frowned. He had expected to receive a transmission just like the ones he got when scanning others with his soul sense while looking at them.
Pondering, he looked at his hand and scanned it with his own soul sense, he could sense the fine prints on his hands, and information started to stream into his head.
[Han Li] [Age: 18]
[Current Cultivation: Evolution Stage]
[End time cultivation in the first life Premonition: Unawakened]
[End time cultivation in the last Premonition: Transcendent, Life Dao.]
[Death: (in the first premonition) At age 18 Killed by Kevin Raven of the Raven Clan over a conflict of interest. Through beheading using a sharp feather.]
[Death: (in the second premonition) At age 500, Killed by Wang Ren of the Demon Restraining Temple over a conflict of interest. Killed through stealing the ownership of the sword of life.]
'So it was indeed Wang Ren who took my sword in the previous life…' Han Li's eyes grew thoughtful for a second before shaking his head. 'His Dao of Life was even more clear than mine, I barely fought him on equal terms with my unique body.'
It was natural to lose against such an enemy. It was only natural he was killed.
There was no reason for him to moan like a sore dog. The opponent bested him and killed him. That meant the opponent was just that good.
He would kill anyone who stood against him, and he knew anyone could kill him too if they bested him. It was a war of life, not a one-sided battle. The thought of revenge didn't really ring in him either. That was pointless unless it had some truly intriguing benefits.
But the information he got on himself didn't end with that. His head started to ache slightly as everything about his past life started to inundate his head.
From his conditions at specific ages. His body's performance just before it died, and so on and so forth. Every minute detail had been recorded.
Han Li blinked as he looked into the mirror. His red eyes shining.
He remembered everything he had seen in his past life very clearly even before the eyes showed up, his memory was really, really good. So that was not really useful to him, but the information about his current life was different.
It let him know clearly where he stood. And with one scan, all that info was transmitted into his brain too.
'Is it because I know about my own situation really well? If I know about others clearly, will it change too?' He pondered. But Yue Li's details didn't send this extra transmission, so he seemed to be missing something.
[Current Cultivation: Evolution Stage]
[Body: Top Tier Mortal Physique]
[Skin Building of the Demon Transformation: 1.01% complete]
Weapon Mastery: • Sword (Transcendence — High Proficiency)
• Throwing Blades (Transcendence — Average Proficiency)
• Knife (Transcendent — Average Proficiency)
• War Blade (Power Birth — Mastery)
• Spear (Power Birth — Mastery)
He licked his lips and thoughtfully considered the information. For one, as any other Transcendent would, he had mastered almost all major tools used by cultivators to Power Birth Mastery at least.
And his eyes seemed to be even capable of telling something this obscure like proficiency. 'If I could see others' details like this at a glance, that would have completely changed the course of my plans. This eye really is special, though…'
But then, he noticed that even the eyes didn't mention what kind of Magic Powers he knew. He had a hunch that it might change if he used a power once. For now, though, he put those thoughts aside and focused on one important thing.
[Skin Building of the Demon Transformation: 1.01% complete]
'So I need exactly around one thousand more crystals to completely transform my skin?'
He understood that this way of calculating and sorting out such details was a useful method to keep everything clear, and calculated in his mind: "[Skin Building: 1.01% — 1000 crystals to perfect transformation.]"
