My Muscle System in the Mage World

Chapter 364 Compensation

Chapter 364 Compensation

"Do you dare to stand in the way of the Divine Human Sect?" Greater Lord Crystal shouted, her voice booming as her hand moved with fluid, lethal intent.

Aur, who was nearby, immediately widened his eyes as he sensed the fluctuation of mana in the surroundings, a force that seemed to overwhelm everything in its path.

The surrounding mana twisted violently causing it to distort and discombobulate with each wave of her hand.

"Are you really going to fight us?" the leading man asked, narrowing his eyes with a ferocious glint.

"Yes, I am going to fight you," she replied calmly, nodding her head.

The tension in the air escalated, as if reality itself was on the verge of breaking apart.

A chill ran down Aur's spine, his eyes dilated in the face as if he felt like an existential crisis.

Aur had never truly witnessed the full might of a Tier Six wizard. Even when he fought Greater Lord Sky, the power displayed was limited due to the time-slowing effects of Aur's magic.

Despite the spell that enhanced Greater Lord Sky's speed, the best he could achieve was the pace of a normal human, appearing as slow as a sloth to Aur.

This limitation prevented Greater Lord Sky from revealing his true strength.

Now, as Aur observed the sheer tension between the two powerful parties, he felt a sense of secret relief.

If Greater Lord Sky had ever been given the chance to use his full power, Aur knew he would have stood no chance.

As the tension unfolded, a heavy silence settled over the scene—an eerie calm before the storm. The leading man finally spoke, his expression twisted into a scowl.

"You have killed the King of Roshar. You must compensate us for it," the leader demanded, his eyes glinting with meaning.

Greater Lord Crystal's golden hair fluttered in the wind, her sharp, heroic eyebrows rising as she chuckled.

"Hahaha, so in the end, all you wanted were benefits. What a pathetic Six Kingdom Alliance—pretending to stand against our backer, the Divine Human Sect, just to protect those weak kingdoms. All you care about is your interest anyway, why pretend."

Her eyes glinted with deep disdain and mockery. "Hypocrites."

"Are you done?" The leader maintained a calm, cold expression. "So, are you going to fight us, or will you give some compensation to let you pass?"

He felt countless eyes fixed on him, causing him to pause slightly. In a measured tone, he spoke, "I cannot avenge the King of Roshar, but his sacrifice will be remembered. I will personally protect his kingdom for ten years."

As he made this declaration, the intensity of the gazes around him lessened, though they still lingered.

"Heh, did this small kingdom really think we'd support them for nothing?" he sneered internally, filled with disdain. "No matter how indignant they are, they can't cause much trouble against the six largest kingdoms, which stand just below the Divine Human Kingdom."

Outwardly, he maintained a righteous expression.

"Haha, the Six Kingdoms are truly impressive," Greater Lord Crystal sneered, nodding her head. "I agree."

"Good. If you didn't, we would have had to fight to the death."

The leader nodded in agreement, and after a brief exchange, Greater Lord Crystal casually tossed a space ring towards them, leaving without much expression.

"Those bloodsuckers really drained a lot of resources, but it doesn't matter," she grumbled inwardly, frustration evident on her face.

Then she turned her gaze to Aur, who was still lying on the floor, seemingly asleep. "Little brat, I paid a lot of resources to take you. I hope it's worth it; otherwise..."

She trailed off, her thoughts lingering on the importance of completing the priestess's task without a hitch to do that fighting was unnecessary.

"I hope those resources were worth it..."

Aur turned towards her calmly, closing his eyes again. "My life is in your hands; you can take it any way you want."

"You—" Great Lord Lightning started, her anger flaring up as she was about to lash out at Aur, but Greater Lord Crystal stopped her.

Aur opened his eyes, a sneer playing on his lips. "It's not the time for a servant to be speaking when the masters are talking."

Great Lord Lightning felt a bit speechless, her tall figure gleaming under the sun as she narrowed her eyes at Aur. But, after a moment, she calmed down and said nothing further. The chariot resumed its journey in complete silence.

As Aur closed his eyes, trying to comprehend the two magic again, an annoying shadow appeared, blocking the sun and lightly poking him.

"Hey, Aur."

"Hmm, what is it?" Aur slowly opened his eyes and saw the red-haired girl standing before him again.

"Umm," Nina hesitated, a hint of uncertainty crossing her face, but she gritted her teeth and continued, "Aur, you shouldn't speak to my master like that."

"Oh?" Aur curled his lips into a smirk, intrigued. "Then enlighten me—how should I speak?"

"After all, she is my master, and you insulted her like that. You should respect your elder," Nina said, her voice tinged with hesitation.

"There's a saying: give respect and take respect," Aur muttered.

"What do you want me to do about it, Nina?"

"I—I want you to apologise to her," she said, looking at the floor with a face full of guilt.

"Interesting," Aur said lightly. There was no problem for him to apologise, but what was the point if there was no benefit to him in it?

Even if he was insulted by the masses or praised, it didn't matter. Most of them would be a pile of garbage, not even remembered in history. Even if you are remembered, it's just a mere remembrance after all.

People's opinions will change overtime.

What mattered was yourself in the end—cultivating yourself.

"Tell me what she can offer, and if I like it, I'll apologise to her," Ray said lightly, and Nina's eyes immediately widened.

"Benefits?" Nina looked at Ray as if he had completely betrayed her.

"I even requested that you be freed from hanging in the air so you could lay comfortably, risking angering Greater Lord Crystal. And now you repay me like this…"

"It doesn't make a difference whether I hang in the air or lay on the floor," Aur shook his head. "You'll never get into trouble because she needs you anyway."

"What do you mean?"

Nina's body trembled, her eyes bloodshot as if she'd had enough of this nonsense and wanted to end it once and for all.

The murderous intent in her eyes flashed as if she might kill Aur the next moment.

Aur watched Nina's rage-filled expression with a secret thrill in his heart.

But she didn't make a move, just stared at Aur before turning and running away.

"I guess it needs more time; the emotions haven't fully accumulated yet," Aur thought, watching her retreating figure. "Maybe in the dungeon we'll encounter next, I can ignite her anger."

This dungeon would be one of the ready-made benefits of being the child of luck—one of the things she would inevitably gain.

Aur was first introduced to a dungeon when he wasn't even a wizard yet, alongside the twin sister.

Back then, the dungeon was small, something even a single tier-one wizard could handle.

But this would be one of the biggest dungeons, and the real story of Nina would begin here, her cheat code, essentially and was filled with the most illogical thing he has ever seen.
