Hmm, I guess that I'd actually need to go and do something.
I made my way over to a tree and took out my [Fine Logger's Axe]. I swung it a few times, smashing into the rough bark and collecting some wood. I was hoping that maybe gathering resources would give me experience in this new system thing.

I guess the experience growth wasn't very fast. But the good thing was that resource collection did indeed give me experience and if there's one thing that I'm good at, it's collecting a ton of resources. There was still a significant amount of time, so the end-of-day report was still a little while away. However, I decided to call over some of my Minion groups which were closest to me. This way, I can quickly get some resources and level up.
I looked around at the others who were gathering resources with various different methods. Robbie seemed to have plants which were clinging to lots of the trees in the area, ripping the wood off of them or something. I guess everyone had their own way of getting bulk materials, these were the top-ranking humans after all.
A few minutes later, several of my Minions made their way over and dumped whatever resources they had into my inventory. I checked the menu once again.

I almost forgot how efficient my Minions were. The moment I received the resources, I was instantly able to level up. After looking at the menu for a little while, I was shown a new screen which was similar to my other system.

Level: Two (+1)

Then, a long list appeared in front of me.

[Shadow Path Rewards]
Level 1: System Unlock
Level 2: [Regeneration Blocker] (Ability)
Level 3: Personal Attribute Distribution [Conjurer-type]
Level 4: [Soul Mark Activation]

It decided to show me all of the rewards for levelling up it seemed. I had just hit level two, meaning I should have this 'Regeneration Blocker' ability now. I looked through the various menus to see if there was a precise description of what it did. Just from the name, I assumed that it slowed the regeneration of vampires, but I didn't have any specifics.
After looking for a little while, a description just popped up straight in front of me.
[Regeneration Blocker reduces the speed of regeneration in nearby vampires. The ability is passive and does not need to be turned on. Conversely, the ability also cannot be turned off. This ability stacks with nearby Shadow Hunters who have the ability.]
Such an ability would be necessary if someone wanted to stand a chance against stronger vampires. It seemed that it could target all the vampires nearby, meaning as long as one person in a group had this ability, everyone would be able to fight the vampires more effectively.
I walked over to Robbie and asked him about his system.
"Have you unlocked any abilities?" I asked
"Yeah, I just unlocked something called 'Regeneration Blocker'."
"Oh, I have the same exact ability."
I guess it made sense, this was the world giving us a way to fight back against the vampires. It was also interesting that the ability stacked. It meant that if enough of us were in an area, we could substantially slow the regeneration of the vampires, maybe even stopping it completely.

It seemed that the experience required to level up had increased again. I looked over at some of the others who were also gathering resources. There were a few people who weren't in the top 10 who were also here, meaning they must have received either a [Shadow Realiser] like the rest of us or a [Lesser Realiser] if they weren't in the top 100.
A few minutes later, Maia called everyone back together to discuss something.
"I've just been informed that someone is being attacked by a vampire a few hundred metres from here. I think this is a good opportunity for us to gather more information with regard to them and also test out this 'Regeneration Blocker'."
"That sounds fun, I'm down," said Robbie.
"I'll come too," added Josh.
I guess I'd tag along as well since everyone was going.
Our elite group began travelling through the forest toward the designated location. I still had several of my combat Minions following me, since they were escorting me at all times. We ran for a few minutes before Maia suddenly stopped.
"Apparently it's around here somewhere."
All of a sudden, there was a loud scream coming from behind the trees.
Maia and Josh quickly rushed over as Robbie and I decided to stay back and observe first. Maia and Josh quickly engaged in combat with the vampire as it rushed toward them. The forest was covered by the thick leaves of the trees so the sun wasn't really able to penetrate through; I guess that was why the vampire was still able to hunt even during the day.
In the midst of the chaos, I couldn't really see what type of systems the two of them had. There was a lot of debris and dirt being kicked around and all I could see was that the Maia was using a sword and Josh was using a knife.
Suddenly, a jolt of electricity darted through the forest. Several of the nearby trees had their leaves fried to a crisp as the electricity travelled through the area.
It looked like Josh had a [Knife of Electromasters] which was one of the earliest Magic Weapons which I was aware of. A few moments later, I saw a severely injured vampire desperately feeding blood to its sword. It was clear that the vampire wasn't regenerating at all, instead, it was bleeding from several wounds.
"Sword... drink my blood."
It was just like the vampire I fought that night.
Its sword darkened in tone as more blood dribbled onto the blade. Maia and Josh braced themselves for the incoming attack.
I moved my Minions in front of me and looked at them from a distance. It seemed like they had it under control for the most part. I assumed that they were going to try to interrogate it for information, considering it seemed to speak English.
