My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 124 Further Preparations

Chapter 124 Further Preparations

I continued to train with Earnest for the remaining time. Slowly but surely, I was beginning to adapt to his fighting style, but I never seemed to be able to get quite there. He seemed to be able to slightly alter his style each time, which meant I was never able to get used to the way he fought. Eventually, time was up and I wanted to go back home anyways.

"Thanks for today, I'll be back tomorrow."

"Good, I'll focus on your mistakes, we can talk more tomorrow," said Laiex.

I started to make my way back as the sun slowly set in the distance. I didn't really how fast time had gone by, but it was already getting quite dark. Even still, I didn't need to worry as I used to, even at night, we were protected by the guards and the walls of the city, it had been quite a while since I last saw a zombie.

However, in the distance, I could hear some shouting near the gate.

I looked over and saw that there was a large group of people trying to get in.

"...please! The vampires killed the rest of our village..."

"...at least take my child..."

No matter how much they begged the guards did not budge. I had begun to notice the overpopulation in the city. Slums were beginning to form with groups of humans living out in tents or sheds by the side of the main bridge. There was simply not enough space in the houses anymore.

More and more elven guards gathered at the gate to deal with the commotion. It seemed that they had a no-exceptions policy now. They didn't even check whether the humans were leaderboarders or not. It was probably due to the fact that there were too many people that it'd be too much trouble to check each one to see if they were a leaderboarder.

At this point, I might be stuck in the ignorance is bliss cycle. There were likely lots of chaos outside of these walls, but for the time being at least, my life was peaceful.

I slowly made my way back home as my Minion Manager approached me.

I ended up gathering slightly more resources than I did the previous day. I decided to craft all of my resources into various different Minions, mostly focussing on resource collection. After that, I decided to check my Shadow Hunter System. It was all the same same

I was pretty quickly getting stronger and stronger. With these buffs and my training, I hoped to be able to fight hand-in-hand with the vampires. At this point though, I still wasn't sure how strong exactly they got. From the information in relation to my [All-knowing World] ability, it seemed that they came in a lot of different strengths.

I had no idea how strong the vampires I had fought before were, but from what I could tell of the white-haired vampire, it was stronger than Josh who was a rank six. Now that I thought about it, Josh had also become a vampire, considering how strong he was before, he might have become a really powerful vampire.

Lots of things were worrying, but until I actually get into another engagement, all I could do was hypothesise.

-

<Soul Mark>

Strength Amplification: 450%

Speed Amplification: 450%

-

My strength and speed were increasing slowly but surely. I could tell that the elves were significantly physically stronger than the average human. I could fight relatively consistently with a skilled elf, so I assumed that I had gotten quite a bit stronger than I used to be, even if it was just from the soul mark.

-

[Shadow Reality]

<Experience> 1133/900 (READY)

-

I upgraded my system once more.

-

Huh? What was this meant to be? I seemed to be seeing a lot of new things but not receiving enough information. However, based on the general theme of the system, I would likely find out once I level up further. The system appeared to be relatively mysterious at the moment. I wondered if the others had been given similar rewards to me. I might ask Robbie the next day.

I still needed to deal with the issue of taking care of the attackers who were robbing Aina that day. I spent all of today training and dealing with other issues so I didn't really get to it. I guess I'd have to work with Robbie tomorrow to finish what I started.

What a hassle.

I just wanted to keep getting stronger in order to prepare for the eventual battle with the vampires. The people outside of the walls seemed to be getting more and more desperate, likely due to the vampires expanding and destroying more settlements.

I wonder if the top 3 leaderboarders were getting anything done in relation to fighting the vampires...

I tucked myself into bed and tried to relax.
