Finally, I was at the end of all of my experience. It took me quite a long time just to go through all of the rewards. With all of these boosts to my Soul Mark, I assumed that I'd be able to easily defeat Baron-class or Vicount-class vampires by myself. Especially with my [Sword Saint] ability, those vampires shouldn't be a problem for me.

I had organised a meeting with Alicar. It was already pretty late in the night but I decided to just go along with whatever he wanted. We were going to talk in regards to using my Minions as a defensive force for the city.

I made my way out my front door. Being brushed by the cool wind of the outside, I walked through the street. Apparently, he would just be waiting near the barracks since he was doing some work there. I wasn't really sure where it was but I assumed that it was probably near the main gate.

As I walked through the city, I looked around at some of the elves walking down the street. Who would've known that I'd be living alongside elves who were nothing but fictional characters back in my old world? After a few minutes, I saw Alicar sitting underneath something that looked like a little military tent with a wall removed.

"You're here."

"Yep."

He gestured for me to take a seat and I sat down in front of him.

"So you said that you control Minions, correct?"

"Yeah."

"Alright, so how many do you have?"

"I've got around six hundred, although only around four hundred of them have any capacity for combat."

"I see, that might be just enough but I might keep a few garrison brigades around the city as well."

"Mhm."

"Could you show them to me?"

I knew he'd ask something like this so I brought an archer, a mage and a swordsman.

My three Minions stood behind me as Alicar carefully observed them.

"They don't feel pain or anything, right?"

"That's right, they also don't need to eat or sleep."

"Hm, they seem pretty sturdy, get your sword Minion to attack me."

I ordered my Warrior Minion to swing at Alicar. As expected, the attack was easily deflected as Alicar drew his weapon in the blink of an eye.

"Not bad, they should be good enough for defence."

"That's good."

He began taking down some notes.

I decided to add something.

"After this, can I ask for a favour?"

"A favour?"

"Yeah."

"What favour are you looking for."

"It's still in development, I'll talk to you about it after the vampire operation."

"Hm, well you are committing a lot of your resources to us so I'll give it some thought."

Having someone with Alicar's strength on my side would be invaluable.

"By the way, you agreed to be part of the Elite Squadron right?"

"Erm, I suppose so."

"I'll be sorting that out. I'm organising an Elite Squad for the purpose of taking out the Progenitors."

The progenitors?

"You might not know about them, they're basically the parents of all of the vampires. Every vampire you've fought has been an offspring of one of the Progenitors," he continued.

"I see, how strong are they?"

"Well, we don't have that much information either, but they're definitely the strongest entities in the vampire civilisation. They are much stronger than the Marquess you fought today."

"Ah, do you think we'll be able to beat them?"

If we struggled so much to defeat the Marquess, I had my doubts about us being capable of taking down a vampire Progenitor.

"I'm honestly not too sure how we'd be able to either. Even at my strongest, I probably couldn't take one out. That's the main reason I'm building an Elite Squadron though, I'm going to try to figure out a way to use all of our abilities."

"I see, so when is the operation planned?"

"Well, we're hoping to be prepared by the day after tomorrow, although that depends on how the reconnaissance missions today went."

"Ah."

"Anyways, that's all I needed from you, you're free to go home."

With that, I made my way out of the tent and back onto the main street of this elven city. The sky was pitch black, I guess time has really flown. Under the shade of the night sky, I walked through the main commercial area. There were still quite a few stores open, I wasn't sure whether it was because there was some sort of event happening or something else.

I decided to take a stroll around, having a look at what there was to do. I was a little bit tired but the atmosphere was too nice not to have a walk around. This was about as close as I was going to get to the old world. I guess when it came to it, people would eventually work together and rebuild what they once had.

I could feel strength pulsing through my body, it was likely due to the huge increases in strength and speed I had accumulated from my Soul Mark. If anything, I was itching to get out and kill some more vampires.

After having a quiet walk around the commercial area of the city, I finally decided to make my way back home.

I still couldn't stop thinking about the voice that was inside my head when I slept.

Who was it?

Was it related to my level 30 reward?

Everything was still a mystery to me.
