My OP Minion System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 255 Safe State

Chapter 255 Safe State

I was lying on the ground, lost in thought as I waited for information from the Minion Manager. The city of Howard had been my main focus for some time now, and I was eager to learn of its progress. Before entering the castle, I had instructed the Minion Manager to clean the city and send minions to ensure the residents' safety. I was pleased to know that the mining and resource collection minions were working hard to gather the resources I needed.

However, I couldn't just leave my city in such a state. I got up from my prone position and headed to the intelligence variants section. I knew that I needed to gather information about the city and its progress. I directed three minions to return to the city and gather information, while instructing one to come back and the others to stay and inform me of any updates.

As the minions set off towards the city, I headed to the Minion Manager. I was pleased to see the minions I had requested standing together in front of me, eager to assist in any way they could. The sight of all the resource collecting minions at work filled me with satisfaction. I opened the advanced menu and set them all to resource collection, allowing them to work tirelessly to gather the resources I needed.

While the minions collected resources, I focused on designing Howard City. I wanted to create something truly special, not just a simple city with residential areas. I had big plans for Howard City and was determined to see them through. I envisioned a castle that would stand tall and proud, a symbol of strength and stability for all who lived there. And so, I immersed myself in the design, determined to make Howard City the best it could be.

I was creating a formidable castle to defend against the enemy and ensure our victory in the upcoming battle. The objective was to return to the city unharmed. To familiarize myself with the surroundings, I opened the map of the settlement and conducted a thorough survey of the area. I was determined to make the castle as secure as possible, so I took the decision to heighten and thicken the wall, making it double the height of the city's outer wall. I was mindful of the fact that the castle was going to be the battleground, and I wanted to showcase my strength to the enemy, therefore I did not request for a moat or any other additional features.

The resources at my disposal were increasing rapidly, which gave me the opportunity to work on the city's design and maintain the inner walls of the castle. I assigned my builder minions to the task of constructing the wall, and I made sure it had the capacity to hold more than 10,000 minions. Although I did not expect to need that many minions, I wanted to be fully prepared for any eventuality.

I had 720 warrior minions at my disposal, but I soon realized that they were no match for the approaching army. I needed to upgrade my forces, so I decided to transform them into brute force minions. 50 brute force minions had already been sacrificed for the city, so I was determined to make the most of the resources I had. I opened the advanced control menu and was pleased to see that I had an abundance of resources, having acquired a large amount after attacking Howard city. This gave me the confidence to upgrade all 720 warrior minions to the brute force level.

I also noticed that I had lost 50 archers and knew that I needed to replenish my army. I immediately set my minions to work on creating new archers to support the army. I was determined to make this castle the last thing my enemy would ever see, and I was willing to do whatever it takes to ensure our victory. With my forces at the ready and my resources at hand, I was confident that I would be able to defend the city and emerge victorious in the upcoming battle.

I was pleased with the resources at my disposal and the greatest advantage was having created an abundant number of resource collection minions who tirelessly supplied me with ample materials to assemble a formidable army. I navigated to the advanced menu and assigned 720 warrior minions to undergo intensive brute force training, along with 500 warrior minions and 500 archers, knowing that swordplay minions would be of no use against the enemy.

The magic division was already a formidable force, capable of handling the enemy on its own, so I deemed it unnecessary to add any more troops and instead shifted my focus to training the minions at hand. As night fell, I laid down on the ground next to Chloe, who was lying still, her glowing charms radiating a soft light.

In the morning, the minion manager came to me with a report. He informed me that Howard city had been cleared and its residents were now able to return. Chloe was already aware of this and had made preparations to leave. I assigned 100 builder minions to accompany her, knowing that the city wall was close to being three-quarters complete and that these builder minions would no longer be needed once it was finished.

Chloe asked about the absence of a moat in the castle design, questioning its effect on the castle's security. I calmly explained that a secure fortress was not what we required, but rather a battlefield and a moat would not contribute to that objective. She reluctantly acknowledged my perspective and set off, accompanied by three intelligence variants tasked with ensuring her safety.

"Why didn't you add a moat to the castle design? It will improve the security of the castle."

"I know it will improve the security of the castle but we don't need a secure place, we need a place to fight the enemy and a moat won't help with that."

"I think it will help but it's your thought and you might be right in it. Ok, see you soon." She said and left and I was standing in my place looking at her leaver. She was also taking three intelligence variants with her, who was assigned for her security.
